(Youth1 Hockey) – We are less than two weeks away from the first of 11 bantam major SuperSeries tournamentsthat will take place this season. Labor Day Weekend the New Jersey Devils will host the four-team tournament atthe Aspen Ice Arena in Randolph, New Jersey. The tournament will consist of the Devils, Mid Fairfield Yankees,Greater Boston Vipers and Team Comcast.

New Jersey DevilsThe Devils are returning multiple players from their 2011-12 team that made it all the way to the AYHL finals lastseason. The Devils’ goaltending is outstanding as Peter Negron and Logan Kramsky both return from last year’steam. The Devils boast one of the best defense units in the nation. Defensemen Andrew Petrillo, Zach Berzolla,Ryan Bogan and Chris Helmlinger return and the Devils add Brendan Less, who was a top defenseman with theNew Jersey Colonials. Forwards Chet Morgis, Danny Farr, Matthew Lavalette, Alex Borowiec, Sam Field, ThomasLamacchia and Augie Burkhardt all return and the Devils add newcomers to the team this season like forwardJack Chatwin, who came from the New Jersey Colonials as well as Timmy Clifton, and Michael Nisky, whomoved to the Devils from the New Jersey Rockets. Another addition is Derek Contessa, who is a 99 birth year butmay well be the biggest player on the team.. On Friday they face the Yankees and Team Comcast, while on Saturdaymorning will take on the Vipers before bracket play is determined.

Team ComcastTeam Comcast looks to start their season off strong this weekend, starting on Friday when they take on the GreaterBoston Vipers and New Jersey Devils. The boys will be back in action Saturday morning for their final game ofpool play when they face-off against the Mid Fairfield Yankees. Team Comcast was ranked No. 8 last season andthey made some significant changes to their roster. With the addition of Alexei Masanko, they add one of the top98 goalies in the AYHL and forward AJ Drobot comes from the New Jersey Colonials as one of the premier forwardsin the nation. Another high profile addition is Marcus Dickerson, who joins Comcast from the PhiladelphiaLittle Flyers. On defense the addition of Cam Dinnen from the New Jersey Rockets will be huge as well as EricManoukian, who comes over from the Colonials. Another huge piece of the puzzle is David Melaragni, who hasbeen playing at the 97 birth year for the past couple of seasons. Returning from last year’s team are forwards ConnorFletcher, Carson Beckett, Nolan Jones, Kyle Weller, Aaron Maguyon, Mergim Berisha, Greg Hendrickson,and Marko Bohatiuk, along with defensemen Max Gravenstine, Connor Matsinger, Joe Fiorino and goalie CaydenPrimeau.

Mid Fairfield YankeesThis season the Mid Fairfield Blues and Connecticut Yankees have joined forces to form the Mid Fairfield Yankees.In between the pipes for the Yankees are Ethan Reich and David Voigt, while on defense are Scott Voigt,Sam Knowlton, Colin Kelly, and Ben Welsh. Up front for the Yankees this season are forwards Jake Kirby, RileyMullin, Thomas Dale, Patrick Cozzi, Nick VanBelle, Bobby Goggin, Eric Ganshaw, and Colin Slyne. It will be aninteresting season for the Yankees as they will have to adjust to losing some very good players like Jake Fuss, JackHoey, Jack Flanagan and Jamie Swiggett. After taking on the Devils in their opening game of the tournament theYankees will take on the Vipers later Friday night. In their last game of pool play the Yankees are going to faceTeam Comcast.

Greater Boston VipersCoach Scott Hentosh brings in a Viper team that is expected to be very good. Goaltender Zach Laramie has beenrising in the eyes of a lot of scouts.Following their game with Team Comcast Friday morning, the Vipers will return to the rink later that night to playthe Yankees. They will be back in action Saturday morning to skate against the Devils. In front of goalies ZachLaramie and Aaron McDonnell will be defensemen Brian Groom, Dom Cappadona, Steven Tettoni, Christian Kukasand Aaron Dollin, while up front are Brandon Lafata, Noah Maercklein, Kyle Lynch, Kyle Hentosh, JT Chamberlain,Braden Haley, Alex Delvento, Brendan White, Dante Maribito, and Ross Wahl.
