“Choosing the Right Robot Cell”

Speaker: Bill Monti, CWI, CWE Miller Electric Mfg. Co., An ITW Welding Co. The gist of the presentation is centered around how to determine if your manufacturing facility is ready for welding robotic automa-tion. There are many misconceptions that only large automotive plants, or plants similar to those, should use robotic welding. This presentation will dispel those myths and give the listener a better un-derstanding of what is available for their needs in regards to welding automation. Those who attend will go away with a better understand-ing that welding robots are being used in many small to medium sized facilities around the world due to the decrease in skilled welders. The presentation will also give the plant managers/owners a better under-standing of what it takes to put welding robots on their shop floor, and make them money day after day. This one hour or so presentation also covers critical information such as ROI on the welding floor to help the key decision makers under-stand that welding robotic automation will pay for itself in as little as 12 months when applied properly. This is a very informal approach to get the first time robot buyer to look at what it takes before and after the installation to be successful.

Bill Monti is currently a Senior Account Manager with Miller Elec-tric Mfg. Co., He has worked in the welding industry for over 34 years for many major manufacturers in global settings. He has been involved with robotics since 1984. An AWS member for 28 years, he has been a CWI-CWE for 18 years.
