New India Sankalp se Siddhi to Commemorate the 75 th Anniversary of Quit India Movement at SC-05175, Hajipur REPORT ON THE VISIT OF THE HON’BLE MINISTER OF STATE FOR HRD, GOVT. OF INDIA SHRI UPENDRA KUSHWAHA ON 25 TH AUGUST, 2017 AT IGNOU STUDY CENTRE-05175, RAJ NARAYAN COLLEGE, HAJIPUR Hon’ble Minister of State for HRD Shri Upendra Kushwaha visited the IGNOU Study Centre - 05175 (Raj Narayan College, Hajipur, Vaishali) on 25 th August, 2017 to take part in the initiative under “New India - Sankalp se Siddhito commemorate the 75 th anniversary of Quit India Movement. A set of the following activities had been organized at the IGNOU Study Centre-05175 in the august presence of the Hon’ble Minister of State for HRD Shri Upendra Kushwaha 1. Humans’ chain 2. Tree Plantation 3. Cleanness awareness programme 4. Panel discussion on the theme “Naya Bharat ki Sankalpana”. 5. Blood Donation camp with collaboration of Red-Cross Society 6. Painting Competition 7. Quit India Quiz Hon’ble Minister Shri Upendra Kushwaha arrived at the IGNOU Study Centre-05175 at 01:30PM. The Minister was welcomed by Dr. Q .Haider, Regional Director, RC Patna and Prof. O.P.Roy, Principal of Raj Narayan College and Co-ordinator (In charge), SC-05175. At the main gate of the college, students in the number of around 500 made a humanschain displaying the card of the commitment towards new India. At the outset, the Hon’ble Minister had given tribute to the founder of the college. Then, he planted a tree in the premises of Raj Narayan College. Dr. Q. Haider and Prof. O. P. Roy also planted the trees. Then the Minister visited the site of different activities Blood Donation Camp, Panel Discussion on the theme “Naya Bharat ki Sankalpana”, Painting Competition and Quit India Quiz, going on simultaneously on the different spot of the college. The Hon’ble Minister spread the awareness of cleaning by sweeping the ground of the college. Dr. Q. Haider and other functionaries of the college also sweep the ground of the college. The programme was formally started with lighting of lamp in the conference hall of the college. The students of the college sung “Kul – Geet” and National Song. The welcome address given by Dr. Q. Haider. Addressing the audience, Dr. Q. Haider stated that it took five years to complete the mission of Quit India movement of 1942 as we attained freedom five years later in 1947. Similarly we have targeted 2022- five years from now to make the dream India. The opening remarks were given by Prof. O.P. Roy. In his address, Shri Upendra Kushwaha expressed the vision of the Honble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji of Sankalp se Siddhi” resolution which will provide new direction and dimension to the country. He appealed to all citizens to play their role towards achieving a New India by 2022 under Sankalp se siddhi movement. He asked that there is no need to take an enormous commitment to reach the goal. Instead of this, we should set little-little commitment and fulfill. He also stated that it is easy to take “Sankalp” but it is tough to its execution. The Hon’ble Minister distributed the prize to the winners of the events. The function ended with vote of thanks followed by National Anthem.
