Why did we make this book?
We want you to help us make the
arts industry better.
The arts industry includes the jobs and
organisations that make art.
Page 4
What do we know so far?
The arts are important
Lots of people work in the arts.
More Australians
● take part in the arts online and in person
than they did in the past
● think the arts are important now than
in the past
● think First Nations arts are important
now than in the past.
First Nations arts means arts made by
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
Page 5
The coronavirus makes things hard
We know that the coronavirus makes
things hard.
The coronavirus
● is a health problem like the flu
● means it is not safe to see the arts in
person for now in some places in Australia
● means that the arts industry had to stop
working or work differently.
We want to make the arts industry better when
there is more work in the industry again.
Page 6
We want to make the arts better
By 2030 we want
● more Australians to have better lives
because of the arts
● more First Nations arts included in the arts
● even more people to think the arts
are important
● Australia to be stronger because of the arts
● more people to have the chance to take part
in the arts. For example, people from
different cultures and people with disability. Page 7
Your ideas can help us
We want to know

industry better by 2030?

● How can we make the arts more inclusive?
Inclusive means everyone can take part.
For example
– people with disabilities
– people from different backgrounds.

We also want to know
