Chips Poultry Processing Plant

The existing wastewater treatment system on site was partly constructed by the previous owner who Sun Valley purchased the land and the factory from but not yet completed. The plant was designed to treat a certain amount of wastewater flow and organic load; however, much higher flow and load is expected as Sun Valley expands the production capacity of the plant. The Water and Environment Department (W&E) of Chuchawal Royal Haskoning carried out conceptual and detailed designs for its existing wastewater treatment system modification. The examination of the capacity of the existing treatment system had been conducted and potential alternatives for upgrading the system had been evaluated to explore the most suitable system modification. W&E also provided supervision on wastewater treatment plant’s start-up, plant’s efficiency check-up and inspection of proper equipment installations.

Dairy Products Plant

Foremost is investigating possibility of production expansion at its existing premise in Laksi. Consequently, higher wastewater flow is expected. As the existing wastewater treatment system is already overloaded, immediate improvement should be done to increase the plant capacity. Then, further investigation shall be conducted to determine whether the plant can be upgraded to handle higher wastewater flow in the future. The Water and Environment Department of Chuchawal Royal Haskoning provided conceptual design services for Foremost’s Wastewater Treatment System Improvement. Investigation of the capacity of the existing wastewater treatment facilities, development of various scenarios for plant upgrading, preparation of a conceptual design and budget estimate of the selected alternative and estimation of project implementation period were all included in the scope of services.

Process Design Additrol Plant

Volclay Siam is a supplier of calcium and sodium bentonite products in Thailand. Bentonite products are for example used as foundry sand binders, thickeners, geological modifier, sealant, or suspension agent. Volclay Siam is the largest Bentonite processor in Thailand. Volclay Siam has existing production facilities and intends to expand this production facility with a new additrol plant. The new additrol plant consists of a coal storage warehouse, a coal milling plant, a mixing facility where the coal is mixed with bentonite and a final product warehouse. The coal-bentonite mix will for example be supplied to the automotive casting industry in Thailand and the region. Chuchawal Royal Haskoning was assigned to provide the following services: Masterplan of the extension of the plant; Dust audit identifying potential dust emission sources and measures to

avoid dust emissions; Audit to identify locations with risks of dust explosions and

recommendations of measures to avoid dust explosions; Process and equipment design for additrol plant including coal storage

warehouse, belt conveyors, pneumatic conveyors, mixing and milling plant, bagging facilities, storage silos and final product warehouse.

EWS R&D Facility

East West, the leading market position of multinational vegetable seed producer in South East and South Asian under the brand logo “Red Arrow” intended to construct the new Research and Development facility in Chiang-Mai to support the company’s future growth in coming years. The design of the building reflects technology atmosphere with its environmental friendly space. The building itself would be innovative look from outside but have an atmosphere of the community inside. Chuchawal Royal Haskoning provided the full design and project management services, including architectural, structural, and M&E design, tender and construction documents, cost estimates and construction management.

Electrolux New Wet Plant

After the completion of the plant for the professional laundry systems, Chuchawal Royal Haskoning was requested to design the new Wet Plant for the manufacturing of front loading washing machines. The facility was part of the master plan of the larger site as developed by Chuchawal Royal Haskoning previously. The building has a footprint of 10,000 m2 and mezzanine offices of 1,200 m2. The project included the external works with land fill and retaining walls up to 6 m high. Chuchawal Royal Haskoning did the architectural and structural design, as well as the building services systems and utility supplies to the assembly lines. Besides that Chuchawal Royal Haskoning handled the project management, construction management and safety management of the project. The project was completed in 600,000 hours without any “lost time injuries”.

Compressed air design

Electrolux Thailand, the world’s largest producer of home appliances intended to expand the new production facility with new wet plant in Rayong Industrial Land, Thailand. Chuchawal Royal Haskoning provided full design and project management services, including architectural, civil and M&E design, tender and construction documents, cost estimates and construction management. For the project, Industrial Installations was assigned to provide the following services;

• Modification of the existing of compressed air unit; • Design of new compressed air piping system in new plant; • Prepare the specifications, tendering and cost estimating; • Supervise the construction works; • Start up and commissioning of compressed air piping.

Optimizing lay out of warehouse and open storage yard

Chevron is one of the world’s leading energy companies. The Songkhla supply base supports Chevron’s offshore Drilling, Construction and Production operations in the Gulf of Thailand. This involves the storage, movement or transfer of equipment and materials. The supply base was originally designed for the supply to 2 production platforms but is now supplying to 7 production platforms. In order to provide sufficient storage capacity other warehouse and open storage yards in the region have been rented. These supply base consist of main warehouse, jetty area, godown and open yard area. Chuchawal Royal Haskoning was assigned to provide the following services:

• To analyze the existing operations and storage facilities • To check the efficiency of storage • To recommend improvements in the lay outs of

Groundwater Monitoring at Six Chevron Depots

Chevron (Thailand) requested Chuchawal Royal Haskoning to update the information on site hydrogeology, surrounding landuse and sensitive receptors and groundwater quality at six Chevron Depots located within Thailand. The investigated depots include Bangkok, Chiangmai, Phitsanuloke, Suratthani, Khonkaen, and Songkhla Depots. The objective of the monitoring was to evaluate groundwater contamination resulting from the activities of handling and storage of petroleum products at each depot site.

Equipment relocation works

TDI Campina produces pasteurized milk and long life milk drinks in Thailand. TDI Campina is a joint venture between Campina from Holland and Thai Dairy Industries (TDI). TDI is the largest dairy producer in Thailand. TDI Campina uses facilities of Thai Dairy Industries such as the existing location, some equipment and utilities. They intended to expand the production capacity by moving the processing equipment from Campina (Thailand) at Nakornrachasima to TDI Campina at Ayuttaya. The processing equipment and machineries consist of pasteurizers, thermisers, bottle filling line, UHT filling line, mixers, raw milk reception facility and others. Chuchawal Royal Haskoning was assigned to provide the following services:

Assessment for Groundwater Remediation

The additional data collection and assessment is requested prior to commencing installation of a groundwater remediation system at Caltex Former KSN Star Service Station located in Chonburi Province. The main activities undertaken include checking site condition and underground utilities to verify the location for the in-situ remediation system, installation of additional groundwater wells to delineate groundwater contamination plume in horizontal and vertical extend.

Specialty Chemicals Production Plant

A physical-chemical treatment system and a biological treatment system are employed as the main techniques for treatment of process wastewater of Cognis. It is believed that the wastewater treatment systems have not been operated at their maximum efficiency so the effluent quality is occasionally not in compliance with the required standards. The Water and Environment Department (W&E) of Chuchawal Royal Haskoning carried out a study for its wastewater treatment system improvement. This study examined various measures to improve the performance of the systems as well as strengthen the capacity of the wastewater treatment plant’s operators.
