ARANA Water Technologies, LLC is a Texas corporation established to further patent, develop, and commercialize water treatment technologies. ARANA has recently patented a revolutionary process that sterilizes water, oxidizes many contaminants and organics, flocculates (coagulates) other contaminants for easier filtration, and does so in an environmentally friendly, green manner.

ARANA Water Technologies, LLC physicists and engineers have developed and patented a unique process which combines several proven water treatment technologies into one reaction chamber to treat drinking, industrial, and oilfield wastewater in the most cost effective, least energy consumptive, and most environmentally friendly manner possible. The primary byproduct from ARANA’s combined process, called the “3 in 1” process is O2.

The ARANA “3 in 1” system has been proven to work in multiple laboratory tests in ARANA’s laboratories, portable in the field, is being further authenticated by Texas A&M–

Corpus Christi University, and is currently successfully in operation in multiple locations in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Asia. The technology is scalable and can treat millions of gallons of water more effectively and cost effectively than any known technologies.

The ARANA system is proven to use approximately one tenth the energy of comparable large-scale water treatment systems with approximately four times the removal of contaminants compared to other singular oilfield water treatment technologies. To achieve comparable levels of contamination reduction, multiple technologies must be utilized - with greater capital expenditures for the equipment, greater energy consumption, more maintenance and expense to operate, and a much larger footprint or this equipment is necessary.

In summary, with the Arana 3 and 1 patent, we can achieve the following:

1. Will help in the reduction procedures of the elimination process o f c o n t a m i n a n t s f o r t h e o i l industry as compared to the actual current procedures used.

2. The Purification of the drilling fluids is carried out on to the platform.

3. A Minimum area is required for installation of equipment on the platform.

4 . Requ i re s min imum power consumption.

5. Purify 10 to 20 million gallons per day. Sys tems are cus tomized depending on the clients needs for fluid filtration.

6. In the process of filtration of the fluids it takes about 7 to 10 minutes and on the purification process, it takes 10 seconds.

7. Maintenance costs are minimal.

8. With our process, it will eliminate taking fluids for treatment on shore, can be done on the platform.

9. Reduce delay time of the cleaning of fluids.

10. Significantly reduces processing costs of the drilling fluids.

With this system, Arana has developed a water purification process totally efficient, achieving a leap in the evolution of filtration systems and water purification for the future. This same technology can be applied to existing systems in water treatment, wastewater treatment plants, and in geographical areas where none exist.

In the future, this ARANA technology will be available to households, developing portable systems, especially in areas where pollution levels are high, removing all contaminants from metals, minerals, chemicals and bacteria, contributing in this way to obtain the healthiest water, accessible to all.

For treatment of water from oilfield production, the method of coagulation and oxidation of contaminants is used so that dissolved hydrocarbons and organics get oxidized and other contaminants are coagulated primarily into iron and manganese, and transformed into compounds which cannot be dissolved. This process also sterilizes the water and can be used for pre-frac water treatment.

Modern ecologically clean methods of water treatment, especially ozonation and membrane technologies, achieve the best results in treating water with minimal size, minimal expense and maximum simplicity of the system. Such results are achievable with an explicit synergistic effect stemming from a combination of oxidizing and membrane technologies, such as the technology patented and used by ARANA.

Ozone (an active form of oxygen) is a powerful short-lived oxidizer. Its lifetime in water does not exceed a few minutes and, therefore, its use as an oxidizer guarantees ecological cleanliness of the technology at a maximum effectiveness. The unique quality of ozone guarantees zero presence of toxic components, like those required if chemical-based reagents are used. ARANA’s process uses no harmful chemicals, and the combined process of “3 in 1” is an even more powerful oxidant than ozone alone, up to one thousand times more powerful.

Filtration of non-dissolvable products of oxidation, and of suspended and colloidal particles using ultrafiltration membranes is the simplest and most reliable method of mechanical water treatment. This method is much more effective than settling, filtration, or contact coagulation of water. The dimensions of filtered particles using this technology

are incomparably smaller. ARANA’s ozone-based technology, together with ultrafiltration devices, are much smaller in size and simpler in operations in comparison to other technologies and devices. This factor allows an oil company’s large-scale water treatment to minimize expenditures, both in construction and in long-term operations.

Technological Process of Water TreatmentThere are three stages of ARANA water treatment:

1) Oxidation of dissolved organic compounds and hydrocarbons, coagulation of additives and sterilization of the water using ARANA’s patented ozone generator, ultraviolet, and ultrasound:

Water is injected in a contact chamber, under pressure, to maximize ozone penetration into the water.

Using piezoelectric level sensors in the contact chamber, a certain preprogrammed level of water is maintained. Using circulatory pumps, the water travels on a closed contour where, passing through the ejector, it permanently mixes with an ozone-oxygen medium, which is simultaneously exposed to a specific wavelength of UV light. This combination of ozone and UV creates a synergistic effect to provide the maximum levels of oxidation and coagulation to the target solution, reliably and quickly ozidating any additives that can be oxidized. In the ozonation process, two-valence iron gets oxidized up to non-dissolvable oxides of three-

valence iron in the form of nano - dispersed colloids. In the process of growth of colloidal particles of iron oxide, which is catalytically active and has large sorption ability because of the developed surface, the capture of remaining organic additives occurs and oxidation of hydrocarbons and other biological contaminants occurs also.

2) Ultrafiltration of formed colloidal particles with suspended particles and periodic impulse rinsing of membranes:

A percentage of this water is injected into the ultrafiltration membrane modules capturing all colloidal and suspended particles smaller than 0.01mkm together with adsorbed additives. As a result, deep cleaning of targeted water occurs, ridding it of dissolved additives and suspended iron additives. The only remaining contaminants would be salts in solution, free from pollutants and within allowable ranges concentrations for environmentally safe discharge into the ocean.

3) Water coming out of the ultrafiltration membrane is injected into a clean water tank. During the process periodic impulse rinsing of the membrane using clean water occurs. Rinsing is done every 7 to 10 min of filtration and takes approximately 10 seconds. After achieving the desired level in the clean water tanks, the system is in pause regime and then automatically turns on after the water level drops below the desired level. The state of the system and the level of water in the clean water tank is displayed on a light-diode screen, and/or on a remote computer screen. Rinsing of the filters requires approximately three percent of the treated water for a total return of approximately ninety seven percent of targeted water. A higher level of treatment can occur with approximately twenty fours of settling after which

approximately ninety seven percent of that water can be treated successfully. After this extra stage, a total treated water for discharge can be over ninety nine percent.

The system works in an automatic regime, controlled by microprocessors receiving signals from piezoelectric-sensors in the contact chambers and clean water tanks.

ARANA Ten Million Gallon per Day Water Treatment System

An ARANA ten million gallon per day water treatment system would require a footprint of approximately forty by twenty feet (40' x 20'), around eight hundred square feet, which can be made smaller if necessity dictates.

The ARANA system would utilize approximately one-tenth the power requirements of conventional technologies, such as other ozonation technologies utilizing the necessary air preparation equipment and other moving parts, electrocoagulation, reverse osmosis, evaporation, and ultraviolet bombardment. The ARANA system would achieve approximately four times the removal of organic contaminants compared to other non-chemical water treatment technologies.

The ARANA system would likely pay for itself in six to eight months when compared to the cost of other water t reatment systems and would cost approximately thirty-dollars ($30) per one million gallons of treated water for electricity and maintenance. Labor and overhead are not considered.
