New @ Funk Library
Funk Library “Solving the World’s Challenges” Series
Funk Library is launching a new speaker series, “Solving the World’s Challeng-es,” where campus researchers from units connected to Funk share their re-search or work related to a selected world challenge. Funk Library serves a number of areas — agricultural, consumer and environmental sciences; urban & regional planning; landscape architecture; biological sciences; natural history, and more. This series brings together researchers from these areas to share perspectives from a variety of disciplines in one forum. The topic of this first se-ries program is ‘climate change’. It will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2:30-3:30 pm on the main floor od Funk Library (which is the 2nd floor of our building). A 30 minute reception will follow. Panelists will be announced at a future date. Be sure to get this on your calendars!
ACES Collaborative Learning Center — not just for ACES stu-dents!
The ACES Collaborative Leaning Center (ACLC) opened in October 2017 to provide support for students needing academic assistance. ACLA provides peer tutoring for common required courses (e.g., accounting, economics, finance, statistics, math, chemistry, history, biology, psychology, and more). The ACLC is located in Funk Library, on the northeast corner of the library near the circulation desk, next to the print Periodicals area. It is available to students in other colleg-
es as well as those from the College of ACES. For hours and more infor-mation, see the ACLC website at https://publish.illinois.edu/acescollaborativelearningcenter/

New from the Library
Campus students, faculty, and staff have access to the following new Library resources ...
Dryad Digital Repository (Vouchers now available for Dryad data deposits!)
The University Library has joined Dryad (http://datadryad.org/), and with its organizational membership
the Library receives a limited number of fee waiver vouchers for data deposits into the Dryad Digital Re-
pository. When you are ready to deposit data into Dryad, you can request a voucher via our online form
at https://www.library.illinois.edu/rds/dryad-vouchers/. For more info about Dryad, see the Dryad
FAQs. If Dryad does not meet your data publication needs, the Illinois Data Bank (https://
databank.illinois.edu/) is a fee-free service available to Illinois researchers. Additional information and
help are available from the Research Data Service (https://www.library.illinois.edu/rds/).
Ethnologue: Languages of the World
The Library now has full access to Ethnologue: Languages of the World, which includes information on
almost 8000 languages worldwide. Now library patrons can easily navigate language and country profiles,
maps, statistics, and download datasets. Please note that this is NOT a language-learning tool. We have
Rosetta Stone for learning a language. To access the database: https://tinyurl.com/y8mutotp. If the link
does not work, search the Library’s Online Journals and Databases by title (Ethnologue): https://
sfx.carli.illinois.edu/sfxuiu/az. For more on Ethnologue: https://www.ethnologue.com/.
