CELLULAR RESPONSES TO LOW FREQUENCYELECTRIC AND MAGNETIC FIELDS

The Electric Power Research Institute, Inc. (EPRI) requests letter proposals onthe subject, "Cellular Responses to Low Frequency Electric and Magnetic Fields(EMF)." The objective should be to establish and define conditions forreproducible cellular responses to low frequency EMF with an emphasis onquantitative relationships between EMF parameters and biological endpoints.Applicants should briefly describe the proposed research and include bothbiological and engineering approaches. Novel approaches are welcome but mustbe well characterized and readily transportable to other laboratories*.Letter proposals will be reviewed for scientific merit and relevance to EPRI'sresearch program on EMF and health. Successful applicants will be invited tosubmit detailed proposals in response to a formal Request for Proposals (EPRIRFP2965-14) to be issued in July, 1990.
