New Features in the iOS Oregon Inspector App This is a list of new features that you will find in the Oregon Inspector App compared to the Accela Inspector App. The Oregon Inspector App will be available for iPhone and iPad devices. It is also available for all modules to use.

Inspection Details: Fees. Schedule, Reschedule, Cancel, Reassign, or Delete inspections directly from Inspection Details.

Record Details: Activities. Conditions of Approval. First Issued Date. Expiration Date. Related Records. Internal Comments – only displays those comments where “Apply to Inspections” checkbox is checked from the

back office.

Inspection Summary Report: Pictures taken on the job site will be attached to the end of the report. Pictures can be renamed and reordered for the report. Enhanced annotation available for pictures. Date/time stamp embedded in the upper left corner of each picture attached to the inspection result. The email subject and content is more clear. Inspection Summary Report will include the date/time stamp and automatically attaches to the record when

submitting the inspection (doesn’t require multiple steps like the Accela Inspector App). Combine Photos in PDF option.

Searching: Ability to search for Scheduled, Pending, or Completed inspections. Ability to search for Records based on Status.

Other: Reference Conditions (Address, Parcel, Owner for example) now display in the app. Pending and Scheduled inspections can now be deleted for users with the appropriate permissions. “Remember Me” option on the login screen. Easier to understand screens when Scheduling or Rescheduling inspections. Result, Reschedule, and Reassign one or multiple inspections from the Job List. All inspections from the Job List now plot on the map (this has been an ongoing issue in the Accela Inspector

App). Block Out dates on the inspection calendar are honored when Scheduling or Rescheduling inspections (this

doesn’t work properly in the Accela Inspector App). Condition banner displays more prominently. Easy to see login information across the top (logged in user, agency, environment, app version). Ability to review inspection details that were submitted to Accela database. See the last inspector to result an inspection on the record. Photos, Combined PDF, and the Inspection Summary Report will now attach to the “Record” instead of the

“Inspection” so this allows these files to be available to the customer through Citizen Access. Only a small amount of data can be modified through the app (Inspections, Contacts, Description of Work,

Internal Comments, Documents). This will resolve some of the ongoing issues we have seen with the Accela Inspector App.

Easy access to map and driving directions. Sort Job List by Schedule Date, Address, or Route Sheet Order (Ascending or Descending).

Inspection Details: Fees.

Now you can easily see the Fees on the record from the Inspection Details screen.

Schedule, Reschedule, Cancel, Reassign, or Delete inspections directly from Inspection Details. Managing inspections is much more accessible and can be done directly from the Inspection Details screen.

Combine Photos in PDF option. There is a new Combine Photos in PDF option from the Inspection Result screen. This will combine all of the photos into a single PDF file that gets attached to the record and visible through Citizen Access. This option will come in handy if you would rather generate a report other than the Inspection Summary Report since this is the only report that will have the photos appended to it.

Pictures can be renamed and reordered for the report. Once pictures are attached to the inspection result, they can easily be renamed or reordered to communicate more clearly with customers. Rename:

Enhanced annotation available for pictures. There are new, enhanced annotation features available to more clearly communicate with customers.

Date/time stamp embedded in the upper left corner of each picture attached to the inspection result. A date/time stamp is automatically embedded on each photo that is either take or uploaded to the inspection result for proper documentation.

The email subject and content is more clear. The inspection reports can still be emailed to the customer and now the subject and email content is much more clear. It mirrors the inspection email sent from the back office with the record number, site address, inspection, result, and comments.

The Inspection Summary Report will automatically attach to the record when submitting the inspection and includes the date/time stamp. The Inspection Summary Report will now automatically attach to the record when submitting the inspection and will populate the date/time stamp.

Searching: Ability to search for Scheduled, Pending, or Completed inspections.

There is now the ability to search for only Scheduled, Pending, or Completed inspections on the Inspections Search screen. It defaults to Scheduled inspections.

Ability to search for Records based on Status. There is now the ability to search based on Record Status on the Record Search screen. It defaults without any record status so it will return all records regardless of their status.

Conditions applied to reference objects, like Address, Parcel, or Owner now display in the app. A common parcel condition is to note that it is in the floodplain, which is important information for the inspector to be aware of.

Pending and Scheduled inspections can now be deleted for users with the appropriate permissions. Pending and Scheduled inspections can now be deleted by users with Inspector Supervisor or higher permissions and includes an extra confirmation box that has to be clicked before the inspection is deleted. This delete option is available in multiple locations in the app and has been a frequently asked for feature so that inspectors can clean up extra Pending inspections in order to submit the Final inspection. The delete option is available for Inspector Supervisor or higher users in the back office and now the app mirrors this functionality.

“Remember Me” option on the login screen. The “Remember Me” feature will store all login details including the password so that users don’t have to enter it each time they log in.

Easier to understand screens when Scheduling or Rescheduling inspections. The Scheduling and Rescheduling feature has been simplified with user-friendly screens.

Result, Reschedule, and Reassign one or multiple inspections from the Job List. An enhanced multi-select feature allows inspectors to Result, Reschedule, or Reassign multiple inspections at once. The feature is available from the Job List or after performing a search.

Condition banner displays more prominently.

Easy to see login information across the top (logged in user, agency, environment, app version). Login information and the app version is always available across the top of the app. This can be helpful if the inspector logs into multiple agencies throughout the day and for troubleshooting purposes.

Ability to review inspection details that were submitted to Accela database. There is now Queue and Queue History available from the Job List. Queue will display inspection results that are in the process of being submitted to the database. For example, if there is no internet connection, inspection results will show in the Queue until the device has an internet connection. The Queue will also show any error message if inspection results could not be submitted.

The Queue History will show a log of the inspection results that have been submitted to the database.

See the last inspector to result an inspection on the record. The Last Inspector will display the inspector who last resulted an inspection on the record in case there are any questions of what has already been done.

Photos, Combined PDF, and the Inspection Summary Report will now attach to the “Record” instead of the “Inspection” so these files will be available to the customer through Citizen Access. Now Photos, Combined PDF, and the Inspection Summary Report will be visible through Citizen Access for easier communication with customers.

Easy access to map and driving directions. Switching to a map view of the Job List is available. Also, a link to Apple Maps with driving directions is available anywhere the address displays.

Sort Job List by Schedule Date, Address, or Route Sheet Order (Ascending or Descending). You can sort the Job List by Schedule Date, Address, or Route Sheet Order and by either Ascending or Descending order. The Route Sheet Order comes from the order saved in the back office. Note: If the Route Sheet Order is changed in the app, it will not update the Route Sheet Order in the back office.

Only a small amount of data can be modified through the app (Inspections, Contacts, Description of Work, Internal Comments, Documents). Everything else is read-only. This will resolve some of the ongoing issues we have seen with the Accela Inspector App.
