New course prescriptions for Indonesian: First Language

The Indonesian: First Language Year 11 and 12 ATAR course is adapted from the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Stage 6 Indonesian and Literature course (formerly the Stage 6 Indonesian: Background Speakers course).

The Indonesian: First Language course focuses on the study of language and ideas through prescribed themes and contemporary issues. These themes and contemporary issues are studied through a range of prescribed texts.

The new prescribed themes and contemporary issues listed below are applicable to the: • Year 11 course in 2018 • Year 11 and Year 12 courses from 2019.

Note: For Year 12 2018, the prescribed themes and contemporary issues are those in the current syllabus with the addition of Indonesia and the world in the theme Cultural identity and Shifting values in the theme Global issues.
