4th March, 2010 : The Textile Associa-tion (India) Ahmedabad Unit organizeda meeting with Her Excellency Ms.Gennet Zewide, Ambassador of Ethio-pia based at New Delhi. This businessmeeting was arranged with selected in-dustrialists, representatives from Govt.of Gujarat and Import & Export compa-nies of Ahmedabad on “Investment Op-portunities for India in the Textile Indus-try of Ethiopia”. Dr. P. R. Roy-EmeritusPresident of Textile Association Indianwas the Chief Guest while Ms. GennetZewide, Ambassador and MehreteabMulugeta, Minister Counsellor (II) Eco-nomic & Business, New Delhi were theguests of the function. (This event wasextensively covered in the March 2010issue of NCM).
13th March 2010 : The TAI AhmedabadUnit and Gujarat Chamber of Commerce& Industry Business Women Commit-tee jointly organized Outstanding Busi-ness Performance Award “GARIMA2010” for Women Entrepreneurs ofGujarat and Fashion Show “SwarnimGujarat” at OAT of Dinesh Hall Premises,Ashram Road, Ahmedabad. Mrs.Anandiben Patel, Hon’ble Minister forWomen and Child Welfare, Govt ofGujarat was the Chief Guest while Mrs.Vidyaben Hemendrabhai Shah, Asso-ciated Dyestuff Pvt. Ltd Ahmedabad,was the Guest of Honour of the Func-tion. Shri Rupesh C. Shah, President ofGCCI delivered welcome address. Dur-ing the function GCCI honoured all thewomen entrepreneurs by giving themmementoes for their excellent work per-formance. During the function, a fash-ion show and a programme of melodi-ous music with songs were also orga-nized to entertain the invitees. About1500 persons were present.

20th March 2010 : TAI-Ahmedabad unitorganized a seminar in association withSSP Pvt. Ltd, Faridabad, Haryaya on20th March 2010 at Hotel Vice Presi-dent, Ahmedabad. The theme of the

seminar was “A Step Forward for Greener Tomorrow EffluentTreatment Solution for Textile Dyeing Industries”. Shri A.D.Bhagat, Vice President of TAI Ahmedabad Unit welcomed allthe invitees and guests of the function. Dr. K.U. Mistry, Chair-man of the Gujarat Pollution Control Board, (GPCB) Gandhinagar,Gujarat was the chief guest while Shri Shanker R. Patel, Presi-dent of the GDMA and Chairman NSAM Ahmedabad was theGuest of honour of the function. Dr. Mistry inaugurated the func-tion by lighting the traditional Lamp along with other dignitaries.
Shri Anik Roy of SSP Pvt Ltd. gave his speech on the subjectmatter and Shri Akash Gundawar, AGM Business Development,SSP Pvt Ltd made his presentation (Covered in the May 2010issue of NCM). About 60 people actively participated.
6th April 2010 : The Textile Association (India) Ahmedabad Unitand the Indian Textile Machinery Exhibition Society jointly orga-nized a seminar on “Enhancing Credibility of MSME Units”. Theseminar was supported by the Textile Machinery Manufactur-ers' Association (India) & Onicra Credit Rating of India Ltd.

sentation on Enhancing Credibility ofMSME Units. Shri R.S. BachkaniwalaChairman of the Indian ITME Societygave details about the forthcoming ex-hibition ITME EXPO 2010. He praisedthe role of TMMA(I) in the developmentof the Textile Engineering Industry. Theseminar was very much informative andabout 70 people participated.
14th April 2010 : The Textile Associa-tion (India) Ahmedabad Unit andTechnocols Software jointly organizeda seminar on "Techno Textile". Shri P.B. Jhala, Advisor Plasma Textiles Ap-plications was the chief guest of thefunction. Orator- Er Vijay Rajole madea presentation on the Use of Web Tech-nology in Indian Textiles. At the end ofthe seminar, there was a question &answer session.
24th April 2010 : Mr. T.L. Patel and Mr.V. A. Trivedi attended a meeting (roadshow) organized by the Indian TextileAccessories & Machinery Manufactur-ers Association (ITAMMA) at the HotelRoyal Orchid Central, Ahmedabad. Mr.Andrew Lin was the delegate fromITMA 2011, Barcelona who gave high-lights of the ITMA 2011 exhibitionwhich would be held from 22-29th Sep-tember at Fira de Barcelona, Spain.
30th April 2010 : The TAI AhmedabadUnit and Consumer Unity and TrustSociety (CUTS) Jaipur jointly organizeda Consultative Workshop on “Eco-La-belling for Indian Textile Industries” inAhmedabad. Shri D. Bandyopadhyay,Deputy Director Incharge, Regional of-fice of the Textile Commissioner's Of-fice, Ahmedabad was the chief guest.
Shri Anurag Srivastava, Deputy Head,CUTS conducted the consultative work-shop. Mr. Bandyopadhyay asked theindustry leaders to provide him sugges-tions for taking up with the MoT. ShriRahul Bhajekar, Chief Operation Officer,Texanlab made his presentation onSustainability in Textile – The Only WayForward". Mrs. C. Vanithamani, SeniorLaboratory Assistant, SITRA presenteda paper on "Environmental Compli-ances- Tools for Sharpening Competi-tiveness".
During the post lunch session, Mrs.Vanithamani presented another paperon the Application Criteria Part 1 & 2.Also, Shri Rahul Bhajekar delivered hisspeech on "The EU Eco- label for Tex-tile: Application Procedures".
