Portofi no’s serves up classic dishes amid pandemicBy CATHERINE SHEN@CSHENNBH

Serving classic Italian cuisine for nearly 30 years, Portofino’s is still going strong despite the ongoing pandemic.

Located at 246 New Britain

Road in Kensington, the family-owned restaurant continues to offer indoor dining and take-out. When the weather was warmer, they had an outside patio set up and in the parking lot, which attracted customers during the summer.

Owner Mike Cecunjanin said previously that safety is a priority for Portofino’s and all employees are required to wear masks, and tables and chairs are sanitized after each guest. Tables are distanced at

least six feet apart, many are even further apart.

Voted as one of the New Britain Herald’s Reader’s Poll Best of 2020, the restaurant continues to serve up famil-iar favorites, specializing in Southern and Northern Italian cuisines. The menu includes a variety of pasta dishes, appe-tizers, soups, salads, grilled plates, seafood, as well as an extensive dessert menu and a wine and martini list.

They also have a separate

take-out menu available and customers can also order on-line at www.portofinosrestau-rantct.com.

According to Portofino’s, everything is prepared using only the freshest ingredients and is made from original reci-pes.

“Our menu includes many traditional as well as a variety of unique dishes,” the restau-rant said. “We also offer daily specials for lunch and dinner.”

The restaurant hours are

Monday from 11:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Tuesday–Thursday from 11:30 a.m.–9 p.m., Friday–Sat-urday from 11:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
