1 Flexible view of the selection result at/in Processing Volume and Selections

Up to now the columns (data fields) of the selection result at the Processing Volume and the Selections were given and couldn’t be changed.

In the future each user will be able to define and save the view of the chosen columns and their sequence. Each user will be able to save several views and choose one of them based on the especific use case. Attention: The following description is based on the function Processing Volume. The described functions are identical for the fuction “Selections”.

1.1 Administration of the selection views

On the left navigation bar you can find under „Administration“ the new function „Selection views“.

By selecting this function you will get to the summary/ overview of the selection views. Now you have to choose first for which type of function you want to administrate the views (Processing volume or Selections). Clicking on the black triangle a new window will open where you can choose between the functions SDISP = Processing Volume or SPROD = Selections.

By clicking on the „Refresh“ button all the already provided views will be shown.

Generally two kind views can be distinguished: Central views: These views will be provided centrally and can’t be amended by the user. However the user can select these views and use them as a copy master for user specific views. User specific views: Here you will find the individually created views of a user. Each user can create his own user specific views or amend/ copy/ delete them. By selecting the respective radio button you can switch between the central and the user specific views.

By opening the context menu (right mouse click) you can select between different functions. Those will be described in the next chapters.

1.2 View „New“ (Ctrl+N)

By selecting this function a completely new view can be created.

Select „New“ in the context menu and the editing dialog will appear.

The editing dialog is mainly divided into 3 areas. Main data Now please enter the name of the new view. Additional general informations regarding the new view will be shown e.g. User-ID etc.

Selectable fields On the left chart you find all the fields which are selectable for the selection result. The first column shows the field names, the second column the related field groups. The relation of the field names to the field groups is based on the registers in the order display, meaning that a field which is located in the order display on the register “Technics” is here also related to the Field group “Technics”.

The field name is adapted to the length of the field content. Therefore it can happen that the field name becomes very short and sometimes not even understandable. If you go with the mouse cursor on the respective field name (Mouseover) the complete term will be shown in a respective “Tooltip”.

By default the fields are sorted by field groups. Alternatively it is possible to sort them also by field name by clicking on the respective column headline.

Furthermore you can limit the fields also to particular field groups or search a specific field.

Fields of the selection view On the right chart you can find the fields which were selected for the selection view. When you create a new selection view this area is completely empty.

1.2.1 Relating fields to a view

In order to relate fields to a view the user must select the respective fields from the left chart „Selectable Fields“ by clicking on the checkboxes. It is possible to choose one or several fields at the same time.

In order to relate the selected fields to the selection view please click on „To add”.

If necessary additional fields can be added afterwards.

By default the fields get added at the end. However it is also possible to insert the fields at a specific position.

Therefor the desired fields must be selected on the left chart (Selectable fields). On the right chart (Fields in selection view) you must mark the field after which you wish to insert the selected fields.

Afterwards the fields will be added at the respective position by clicking on „To add“.

1.2.2 Changing the order of the fields

By clicking on the buttons „Go to start“, „Bottom-up“, „Top-down“ and „Go to end“ it is possible to change the order of the fields in the selection view afterwards. Therefor you must select the respective fields by clicking on the checkboxes and choose the desired button. Several fields can be moved at the same time.

1.2.3 Checkbox „Choose all/ remove all“

Via the checkbox „choose all/ remove all“ all the fields can be selected at the same time. If one or several fields were already selected then the checkbox is marked automatically. By clicking on the checkbox the whole selection will be removed.

1.2.4 Remove fields from a view

By clicking on the button „Remove“ selected fields can be removed from a view.

1.2.5 Field order number by default as first column

The field order number must be chosen always as first column in each view. If the user doesn’t select the order number in a view then the system will add automatically the order number as a first column as soon as the user saves the view.

1.2.6 Maximum number of fields per view

The maximum number of fields per view is limited to 200 digits. In other words, depending on the number of digits of each field content only a certain number of fields can be chosen. E.g. the field content of the field branch has 1 digit, data fields 8 digits, area 3 digits etc. Overall the maximum of 200 digits can’t be overrun. If you have more than 200 digits then you get a respective failure notice as soon as you save the view.

1.2.7 Close editing session/ save view

Quitting the editing session by clicking on the „OK“-button the view will be saved under the respective name. Quitting the editing session by clicking on the „Cancel“-button all the amendments will be discarded.

1.3 View „Edit“ (Ctrl+E or double click))

By clicking on the function „Edit“ the user is able to amend an existing view.

By clicking on this function the editing dialog will open.

The selected view will be shown and can be amended analog to chapter 1.2. The name of the selection view can’t be changed in the function „Edit“.

1.4 View „Copy“ (Ctrl+C)

By clicking on the function „Copy“ a new view based on an existing view can be created.

By clicking on this function the editing dialog will open.

Now the right chart „Fields in selection view“ will be inizialized with the fields of the copied view (copy master). If necessary you can amend the view (analog chapter 1.2).

1.5 View „Delete“ (Ctrl+D)

By clicking on the function „Delete“ an existing view can be deleted.

By clicking on this function a deleting dialog will open. Now the chosen view will be shown in order to check it again.

By clicking on the „OK“-button the view will be deleted for good and can’t be restored.

1.6 Standard view on/off

The user can define an existing view (userspecific or central) as standard by choosing the function „Standard on/off“. Then this view will be used always as long as the user doesn’t select another view explicitly. If there hasn’t been defined a standard view then by default the system default view will be applied.

If there is a standard view defined then this view is marked in the column „Std.“ with a „X“.

1.7 Set a view active/inactive

In the editing dialog there is an option to set the view inactive (Active = No).

As soon as the view gets inactivated this view won’t be shown any more in the selection dialog of the respective selection (Processing Volume or Selections). It isn’t necessary to delete a view in order to not show it any more in your selection dialog. In the administration dialog an inactive view will be marked in red. The active views are marked in green.

1.8 Copy the view of another user

The user specific views of another user can be seen and used as a copy master for an own user specific view. Please insert in the field User ID the respective user. By clicking on the „Refresh“ button the views of this user will be shown.

The user can copy a view by using the context menu (right mouse click) (analog chapter 1.4) It isn’t possible to amend or delete the views of another user.

1.9 Select a view in the selection result (Processing Volume or Selections)

In the selection result of the functions Processing Volume and Selections you find a new selection field „Representation” (views). By entering of those functions this field is empty (system default view) or preemted with the standard view of the respective user (if there was defined a standard view in advance). At first no column headings will be shown.

By executing a selection the respective view will be used and the defined fields/ columns will be shown.

Next to the „Representation“ field you find a small black triangle. By clicking on this triangle the selection dialog will open.

In the selection dialog the user specific and the central views related to each user will be shown. Th column “Type” indicates whether it is a user specific (U) or central (Z) view. The system default view is indicated with a “D”. The user can select the view now.

1.10 Changing the view directly via the selection result

It is possible to change a view directly via the selection result without deriving before to the view administration. Therefor open the context menu with a right mous click on the field „Representation“ and select in the context menu „Edit selection view“.

Afterwards the editing dialog will open with the current view. Now you can amend the existing view (analog chapter 1.2).

The user has the possibility to save his amendments at the existing view by clicking the „Save“ button. If the user changes also the name of the view the by saving the view there will be created a completely new view and the existing view stays as before. By clicking on the button “Adopt” the amended view will be executed. If the user executes the amended view without saving the amendments before then there will be created only a temporary view (Adhoc view). This view doesn’t get saved and will last only until the user resets the view, opens a new view or opens a completely new function in the Processing Volume.

1.11 Reset selection view

By clicking on the red symbol („X“) next to the selection field „Representation“ or via context menu (right mouse click on the field „Representation“) the current view can be reset to the standard view of the user or the system default view.

1.12 Save selection view to a filter

It is possible to relate to a saved filter a particular view. Each time this filter will be executed it will be shown with the selected view. Therefor you find in the filter dialog also the selection field „Representation“. Choose a view and save the filter. Afterwards the filter will always open with the saved view.

Theoretically the user can choose to each saved filter a different view. If there is no special view selected fo a saved filter then the selection result will be autmatically shown with the standard view of the user or the system default view.

1.13 Derive from the selection result to the view administration

Via context menu (right mouse click on the field „Representation“) the user can derive directly from the selection result to the view administration.

In this case the administration dialog will open in a new window and the field “Selection” will be preempted with the respective function from the administration dialog (“SDISP” or “SPROD”).

2 Filter-Administration Up to now it was only possible to administrate the saved “Selection filters” direct in the functions Processing Volume and Selections (this is still possible).

Now there is a separate dialogue to administrate the saved Selection filters.

This dialogue is similar to the Administration of the „Selection views“. The following functions are possible:
