Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing That ever has – Margaret Mead Dear Parent Environment plays a dominant role in moulding the personality of human beings. It is the guiding spirit. MVN has always taken the initiative in various projects towards environment protection, keeping this trend, an eco club called ‘Envirofreaks Club’ has been formed which has empowered our tiny tots to take up meaningful environmental activities. The month of ‘July’ was observed as ‘Environment Month’. A plethora of activities related to nature and environment were conducted. Special assemblies were conducted to inculcate love and a sense of responsibility towards nature in them. The months of August and September have been equally eventful as we celebrated our important festivals and days- Friendship Day, Independence Day, Onam, Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami, Teachers Day, Id, Ganesh Chaturthi, Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm and gaiety. We earnestly look forward to your unflinching support as usual which would help our kids exercise perseverance in all walks of life.

‘WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY’ is an opportunity to sensitize students about issues affecting the environment. In an endeavour to spread awareness about this day, the students of grade II Albatross presented an informative assembly. The assembly began with a heartwarming prayer followed by a motivating thought. The ‘green warriors’ delivered an inspirational speech on environment. The audience was apprised about the deteriorating conditions of ‘Mother Earth’ through a skit leaving everyone spell bound. The students laid emphasis on educating peers about the harmful effects of plastic bags. This was reinforced through a song on ‘stop plastic pollution’. The students took a pledge to reaffirm their commitment to a cleaner,

greener and sustainable planet.

MONSOON FIESTA Monsoon is a gift of God to mankind. It revives our souls and fills the surrounding with the beauty of fresh greenery. To acknowledge this blessed gift of God, students of Grade II Bluejay conducted an assembly with the theme- ‘Monsoon Fiesta’.

The students enlightened the spectators with the significance of monsoon as a provider of water to all plants and animals. The audience was also educated on the problems we face during monsoon like water borne diseases, water logging, traffic jams. The assembly ended with a beautiful foot tapping dance performance earning a big round of applause.

TREES- OUR LIFELINE

The students of Grade II Canary presented a thought provoking assembly on the topic: Trees- Our Lifeline. The students shared useful information on the importance of trees. The audience was enthralled by the awe- inspiring performance of the little ones where through a short skit, they urged everyone to protect trees for the survival and prosperity of our planet. The skit was followed by a mesmerizing dance performance. The students were applauded for their outstanding performance.

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS The students of Grade I, II & III paid homage to the martyrs of Kargil War. To honour the soldiers on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the students of Grade II Dove presented a special assembly. The assembly commenced with the morning prayer followed by thoughts and poems emphasizing the value of peace in our lives. The little soldiers amazed the audience by their scintillating dance performance depicting the patriotic fervor and the strong feeling of unity and brotherhood amongst the people of our country. The assembly concluded with the echo of ‘Jai Hind’ and filled everyone’s heart with immense love for their country.

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP DAY A true friend is a blessing indeed; be it to share a laugh or wipe a tear. To highlight the importance of friends in our lives, the students of Grade-II Egret presented an assembly on ‘International Friendship Day’. The assembly started with a beautiful thought on friendship. A short skit on ‘True Friends’ was presented. The kids delivered the message that friends should remain together and then they will always be happy. They also explained the significance and importance of friendship through a melodious song. The stage came alive as they danced joyfully on a song of friendship. The kids showcased their talents beautifully. Their efforts were appreciated by all.

The Primary wing of MVN Aravali Hills, celebrated the 72nd Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. To mark the occasion, a special assembly was presented by the students of Grade- II Flamingo. The students came dressed in colours of freedom. They enacted as fearless freedom fighters who valiantly sacrificed their lives for their motherland. They also delivered their dialogues with great flare. A delightful poem on Independence Day was presented by the students. The highlight of the programme was a power packed dance performance by tots, landing themselves a handsome applause. The auditorium was filled with echo of slogans like Vande Mataram, Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Jai Hind. The school Principal, Mrs. Neeta Arora appreciated the students for their efforts and asked them to strive hard to become worthy citizens of the country.

Onam, the festival of happiness, peace and prosperity was celebrated with great fervor at Primary Wing, MVN Aravali Hills. A special assembly was organized by the students of Grade- II Goldcrest. The young MVNites narrated the story of King Mahabali and Vamana and displayed how this festival is celebrated in Kerala state. The students dressed in the traditional attire of Kerala. The audience was apprised about the different aspects of the festival. The assembly culminated with an energetic dance performance. The primary courtyard was filled with the spirit of Onam.

RAKSHA BANDHAN Rakshabandhan, a historic sibling festival of unity and protection was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety in the premises of MVN Aravali Hills. On this occasion, the students of Grade–II Hornbill presented a colourful assembly. They explained the significance of Rakshabandhan and the festivities associated with it. The eternal love between brothers and sisters was exhibited through a melodious song. A sparkling dance performance brightened up the whole atmosphere. The coordinator, Ms. Priya Thukral addressed the students and shared the importance of the festival in the end.

Sri Krishna Janamashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna, avatar of Lord Vishnu. To mark the occasion, the students of Grade- I, Albatross, Bluejay and Canary presented a special assembly. Children came dressed as Krishnas and Radhas transforming the entire place into Vrindavan. The story of the birth of Lord Krishna was narrated and beautifully enacted by the kids. An enthralling skit was performed wherein the students depicted the various facets of Lord Krishna’s Leela. The whole auditorium brimmed with a spiritual essence when little Krishnas and Radhas sang the melodious bhajan ‘Achyutam Keshavam’ invoking the blessings of almighty. The event became super exciting with a mesmerizing dance performance. The Principal, Ms. Neeta Arora lauded the students for their efforts. The assembly concluded with the pushpanjali to Lord Sri Krishna.

‘No printed word, nor spoken plea can teach

young minds what men should be, not all the books on all the shelves but what the teachers are themselves, - Rudyard Kipling. To pay a gratitude to their beloved teachers, the little scholars of grade- II & III put up an amazing assembly. The assembly commenced with ‘Guru Vandana’. Students presented beautiful thoughts on teachers. They also spoke about Sarvepalli Dr. Radhakrishnan and his contributions. The highlight of the show was a wonderful dance presentation that mesmerized everyone. The entire assembly was soaked in the spirit of festivity and happiness.

To worship Lord Ganesha as the God of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles, students of grade- I Dove, Egret and Flamingo presented a special assembly on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The little singers confidently chanted Ganesh Vandana to invoke the blessings of Mangal Moorti Ganesha. They enacted the whole festival and showcased how it is celebrated with pomp and show. All the students were thrilled to see how Lord Ganesha is welcomed and immersed in a river after 10 days. The whole auditorium was filled with the echoes of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’. It was truly a soulful experience.

To honour of our National language Hindi, a special assembly was conducted by the students and teachers of Grade-I, II & III. The assembly started with a prayer in Hindi. It was followed by a classical dance performance on ‘Ganesh Vandana’. A speech on the significance of Hindi Diwas was presented. The students performed a skit in, Hindi which emphasized the ‘Mentor disciple’ relationship. The audience was apprised about the contribution of famous Hindi writers and poets who had united our country during the freedom struggle. The highlight of the show was a melodious Hindi song sung by our little scholars. Overall, it was a fun-filled day which inculcated values of deep respected and appreciation for one of the oldest Indian languages.

After the summer break, our tiny tots were welcomed back to school with the fun filled activities designed by the teachers such as Nature Walk, Poster Making, Fancy Dress, Rakhi Making etc. in a conducive and friendly environment, helping them settle back into the routine with ease. The Children thoroughly enjoyed these activities;-

Learning by observing is very important in grooming up the litte ones. Keeping this in view, the students of Grade- I ,II & III stepped out of their classrooms and went for a ‘Nature Walk’. They observed, understood and appreciated the bounties of nature around them. They looked around with curiosity and inquired about different plants. To make it a memorable experience, they also brought back baskets full of fallen down twigs, dry leaves. They created beautiful expressions with the material collected by them during “nature Walk’.

Learning to speak confidently is also an important part of learning. In order to help our young learners develop their speaking skills and shedding their inhibitions and apprehension, Speak on & Fancy Dress Competitions were organized for them. The students of grade- III spoke confidently on various endangered species. Some of them also dressed up like these species and made placards too to make their presentation effective. They emphasized on the need to preserve nature and save these species. A speak on competition was organised for the students of Grade I . A Fancy Dress Competition was held for the students of grade- II. It was a pleasure to see our tiny tots dressed up as trees of their choice. They enjoyed and learnt a lot through each

other about a variety of trees.

A Poster Making Competition was also organized for the students of Grade- 3. The students made beautiful posters on themes related to nature such as save Environment, Save Water, Save Trees, etc. They displayed their coloring skills, imagination and creativity. They participated enthusiastically in the activity and came up with amazing art work.

The students of grade II & III were apprised about some ‘Amazing Trees of the World’ through group discussions and PPTs. They were also provided with information handouts regarding the same. A Quiz was conducted for the students of grade-II wherein they answered the questions based on the information handout given to them. Our young learners participated in the quiz with fall zeal.

Being kind, spreading kindness and above all, recognizing and appreciating an act of kindness are all important. If students are taught this at a younger age, they tend to imbibe and carry such habits throughout their life. Keeping this in view, the students of Grade- I, II & III celebrated ‘Appreciation Day’. They tried to illustrate the virtue of kindness through story telling and skits. They also shared their personal experiences about kindness.

The students and teachers of grade- I, II & III celebrated Independence Week from 13th August to 17th August to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of India’s Struggle for Independence. The students were engaged in various activities related to our national festival. The week commenced with a Badge making activity. Students made a tricolor initial of their own name and put it proudly. They also made a beautiful tricolor artifact and wore it as a wrist band. A Patriotic Song Competition was organized to expose our kids to music, while also enhancing their language and presentation skills. The students prepared well for the competition and a wide range of songs and poems were presented. To invoke the patriotic spirit and apprise them about the sacrifices made for the motherland, the teachers showed them informative PPTs on Independence Day. The students also chanted popular slogans throughout the week earning a tremendous applause. All the students participated zestfully in this wide spectrum of events and their efforts were applauded.

The joyful festival of RakshaBandhan showcasing the innocence of the sacred bond between brothers and sisters was celebrated by our little ones through a creative activity of Rakhi making. Children made a number of colorful rakhis using beads, threads, ribbons, etc. The children thoroughly enjoyed the activity and were excited to take it home.

Janmashtami, which marks the birth of Hindu God, Lord Krishna was celebrated with enormous zeal and enthusiasm by the students of Grade- I, II & III. The students of Grade- I made beautiful mukuts(crowns) while the students of grade II and III decorated their matkis in a unique way. Students dipped their fingers in colours put them on matkis and created wonderful art work with imprints. The children were absolutely thrilled.

To improve their presentation skills and to arouse their interest in Hindi language, a ‘Hindi Sulekh Competition’ was organized for Grade- II & III. The students exhibited their writing skills by writing beautifully with full concentration. Five best entries from each section were selected. The judgement was done on the basis of writing style, patterns, legibility and neatness.

The students of Grade- II and III were engaged in a paper craft activity with the objective of fostering creativity and aesthetic sense amongst them. The students learnt the art of paper craft and tried to learn few tricks to make different things from paper. They created beautiful things such as puppies, dolls, umbrellas using paper. It was a fun-filled activity enjoyed by everyone.

At MVN, we aim to build voracious readers who are armed with innovative and creative ideas and will bring about a change in the world. Keeping this in the mind, a Bookfair was organized in the school premises In the month of August. It was an initiative to make our young learners aware of the wonderful and knowledgable world of books. The fair saw an overwhelming response from students and parents who had come to attend the PTM. Books from all the displicines of education were displayed such as fiction, non- fiction, adventures etc. A lucky draw was also conducted for the book lovers.

• The students of our school participated in ‘Expressions’ an interschool competition held at Apeejay School, Faridabad. Our students emerged victorious in different events.

• Anushka Baisla & Diya of Grade- I were awarded First Prize in the event ‘ Little Picasso’s art’.

• Pragnya Sharma and Saumya Attri of grade- III, won second prize in the event Rang-O-Metry.

• Alisha Mittal and Keshav Goyal of Grade- II got the participation certificates in the event Trash-N-Treasure.

• Somya Chaturvedi of Grade- II participated in 3rd Independence Day Roller Skating Championship organized by Gurgaon skaters on 15th August,2018. She was awarded 1st position in Rink Race 1 and Rink Race 2. She also got the RUNNERUP Trophy held at the Skating Event held at Jasola.

• Vihaan kohli of Grade II brought laurels to school by winning Champions Trophy in 17th National UCMAS ABACUS & MENTAL ARITHMETIC COMPETITION.
