    Museums Many small museums along C Street preserve the citys illustrious past, including the NevadaGambling Museum, The Way It Was Museum and Ponderosa Mine, which offers underground mine toursevery 20 minutes.

    The Castle An 1868 structure that reflects the prosperity of mining towns. Guided tours are given daily11AM-5PM. Fee is $5.

    Chollar Mineis an 1861 Comstock gold and silver mine with original square-set timbering. $6 admission. Mackay Mansion (A262) A 10-room, 1860 building that served as the original headquarters of the Gould &

    Curry Mine Co.; $4 admission. Virginia & Truckee Railroad departs from Washington and F Street, and is a partially restored standard
