the method of mapping i used involves more of a design feel along with the creation of a book. books are mapping in itself because a book is a collection of manydifferent subjects all relating to one topic. this book is a map of different jobs i have encountered through two of the social networks i use which is my blog and my linked in account. i have obtained many different jobs all located in the tri state area. the mapping method i used iscolor iconography which indicates the different locations of the jobs i obtained which are sectioned off into two parts, the jobs i have obtained through my blog and the jobs i have obtained through linked in. pictures of the location in which the mural is involved are given to give the viewer a sense of the area in which the work was done in along with the location typed next to the color coded page identifier bars which all sum up to be my method of mapping i used and thought would be the most successful way in interprating this information.

having a blog or website is the most helpful way

in socially connecting to the world which will

allow you to have your work or ideas seen by

many others. in my case i run my own mural and

custom art business and since the day i have

created my own blog to promote my work i have

reduced the amount of murals and artwork i

have done for customers. i also have reduced

the amount of people i talk to and network with

which will positively increase my chances to

reach my goals and become successful with my

business. blogging gives potential customers a

great way to view the work i do along with

develop a relationship with me before they even

meet me and also track my progress i make and

the amount of people who are also interested or

who have had work done by me already which will

positively effect rapport i have with customers

ultimately making my business more succesful.

this is my first commision based mural i have ever been able to do. within the first week of creating my blog i was found by a lady named felicia bradford who was astonished by the work i have put on my blog. she commisioned me to create a canvas based on graffiti that reads daron along with a detroit and newyork city based background. it was a birthday gift that was to be done for her best friend who was named daron. she found me through my blog and she was located in harlem new york. this is a great example of the networking capabilities having a blog will do for you. the materials used in this canvas were a sheet of canvas and spraypaint.

the location of this canvas is in brooklyn ny. through the finding of my blog i was commisioned to do this canvas for leeal who was celebrating her botmitzfa. her mother contacted me because my contact information is on my blog and she asked me to do this for her daughter as a surprise for her celebration. i was also invited to the party and was to present my artwork in front of everybody and then give it to her. social media is a great way of networking because from the people that you meet they also open new doors throught networking of more possibilities. this canvas was also done with a sheet of canvas and spraypaint.

kids skateboarding based mural

kids are my absolute most favorite ones to do artwork for. this is because of the look of joy and pure happiness and interest they show when they are first shown it. they are the most appreciative of this sort of work and the feeling i get when i see there face is priceless, it is even better then the money i make off of it. this mural was done for two brothers who are interested in skateboarding and love the brooklyn bridge. this was done for their birthday as a surprise present that i was honored to be there for and present to them. the mother who contacted me found my blog as she was searching for artists who specialize in an urban feel. she said that the work she seen on my blog convinced her enough that i was the one she was going to call and have the work done by. the mural was done with only spraypaint and represents her two children skateboarding in front of the brooklyn bridge and was located in harlem new york right in their bedroom.

dinosaur train based muralthis mural was when i finally had a reality check. i was never to great with doing characters and decided that the only way i could learn was if i did it on a wall that meant something and not just a wall that i could practice on but a wall that belonged to someone else which needed to be correctly done. the location of this mural was in queens new york and was able to be done because of the finding of my blog. the father contacted me because he seen my information on my blog and liked my work and the look and feel of my blog. the theme has to do with the childrens cartoon dinosaur train because his son was very amused by this program. the picture to the right on the next page was my favorite accomplishment in this mural and was done strictly with spraypaint. all i could say is thank you to my blog and that i left very happy after the completion of this mural.

This is a mural done in newark new jersey near our very own rutgers university. it is located on halsey street and warren street.

the owner of this nail salon found my blog while she was searching for artists who do murals in the area. this is a perfect example of how social media positively can effect the growth of your business. with the correct tags used and the proper layout a business owner commisioned me to do a mural on her business.

This is a representation in our own imagination of peace and love relating to the lifestyle of people who live in this area. since it is a college area the urban representation of the figures used coincide perfectly.

The supplies used to make thismural consist of spray paint which was used to create the actual figures and the graffiti. House paint was used to put a pure canvas on the wall which make it neat and easier to paint the mural and add to longevity of the mural for it will not fade over time.

peace and rememberance based mural

this mural was done for my best friend who passed away. the only way this was made possible was because i was contacted by a person who owned a convenience store in newark new jersey asking for a peaceful mural to be done on the side of his store. i put two and two together and told him i would do it free of charge if he allowed me to include the passing of my friend in it. he agreed and told me i just have to include a peaceful theme which goes along perfectly with the concept. due to him finding my blog and searching for peaceful murals he found my blog. one of my tags i have that if a person types in my blog will pop up is peaceful murals. my theory is that peaceful murals could give hope to a neighborhood that is crime filled.

graffiti based mural

out of all the murals i have done to this day this is my favorite color scheme i have ever put together. the other guy who took place in this mural said that this was also his most favorite piece he has done to this day as well. the owner of this business was able to get in contact with mebecause of the finding of my blog. this was the first request we recieved that all the owner was interested in was graffiti which we were excited about. the location of this mural is in newark new jersey.

jobs obtained from linked in

having a linked in account can also improve your

business through social networking. people who

are seeking employees or peole with a certain set

of skills can contact you through this program.

it also is a place where you can chat with others

as you can on facebook but is taken more

seriously. through linked in i have encountered

and been involved in a number of different jobs

that i consider out of the ordinary. most of the

jobs i have encountered through the finding of my

blog related more closely to the theme and work

found on my blog but through linked in i

encountered jobs that revolve around my work

and skills but arent exactly related to the work

i have done. linked in is a good way to network and

have added variety to my work and allowed me to

meet many different people.

as soon as i heard about linked in i signed up for an account. i would say about a week later i was contacted by a guy who was interested in starting his own clothing based company that mainly dealth with graffiti and the urban style. he was located in paterson new jersey and was searching online for graffiti artist and came across my blog and then searched for me on linked in and was pleased to find me there as well. the fact that i was involved with many social media outlets convinced him that i was serious about what i was doing and wanted to pay me for a couple designs.

clubwear based clothing designs

due to linked in i was commissioned to designa series of clothingdesigns that were to be used by a club ownerwho was starting his ownclothing line. he found me and quickly messaged me. this was completely new for me because i am so use to painting large scale urban style art and not art that was so mechanical and not related to graffiti as much. i was very pleased with the outcome of the work and this was the highest payed commisioned job i have done thus far. the location of the guy who wanted this done was in elizabeth new jersey. the name of the clothing line is dysfunktion clothing and had a subgroup which was called burrii.

positive quote graffiti

this was a commissione job i was asked to do from a client who had contacted me through linked in. this was the most interesting request i have ever recieved thus far. the client requested me to do a graffiti based piece that he can see everyday he took the train to work. considering that i was in his location, jersey city newjersey he thought that i would better understand the area and be able to find a place that i could paint that i would be comfortable to paint it as well considering that it wasnt really legal. i told him that i was ok with this but the price of this kind of job would be pretty high considering i can get arrested for it. i really enjoyed this job though because my main goal is to be able to spread positivity and hope through the works of art and this job really related to my goal. the quote says the world is yours and was done because the client needed inspiration to go to work everyday and was really into hip hop and this is a quote from a famous hip hop artist, nas.

graffiti based mural

this was a mural done only because i was contacted through linked in. a client searched linked in for artists in new jersey because he figured that since he lives in new york the graffiti that would be done on his business would be very relative to the graffiti he sees on a daily basis. he is a war veteran and wanted to send a message that even graffiti writers can take pride in there country so he asked that we would include something dealing with us representing america without using a cliche. he was located in the bronx in new york. we decided to do one piece with the american army colors to represent the american army and the traditional cliche that everyone who seen it woud be able to relate it to america. then to unify america and graffiti i did a completely bright and glossy color scheme that would represent graffiti. with the two pieces being these it unified graffiti and america and then to top it all off we threw up above us all american writers. the background which is simple splats indicates the graffiti base and makes it easy readable for viewers to distinguish what we were trying to represent but the theme is not too simple so it will leave the viewer thinking about what we were trying to pursue.
