What is Key Club? Each Key Club is led by a student board. One of many things that make Key Club different from other organizations is that it is a student-led organization. Student officers make the executive decisions and are responsible for planning and executing events without faculty advisors/Kiwanis advisors mentioning deadlines. They can give advice, however they will not be the ones reminding of deadlines and what to do for each project. That is the magic of Key Club.

Who are on the club board? The positions that our club have are club president, club vice-president, club secretary, club treasurer, club bulletin editor, and club webmaster. Committee chair positions will be determined by the club board members elects. More committees can be created by the new board whenever more help is needed. Most clubs usually have about three to six committees depending on the need.

Club President's Duties

"Being president requires dedication. I attended as many events as I could. When I ran for this position, I wanted to change something within the club. Even though, there are times when people do not cooperate (this is the same for all positions) which causes you to have to do more work, it is all worth it in the end. Having this position has allowed me to manage my time more efficiently. You have to maintain almost all club records, and although it isn't very difficult, it's time consuming (especially for a junior). As the year went on, I found that it was easiest to just submit forms as soon as the last project passed. You learn to manage your time and come out knowing more about your Key Club."
