    Curriculum Aims

    To educate Pakistanis to be:

    Seekers of truth and knowledge who can apply

    both for the progress of society

    Creative, constructive, communicative andreflective individuals

    Disciplined, productive, moderate and

    enlightened citizens

    Capable of effectively participating in the highlycompetitive global, knowledge-based economy and

    Highlights of New Scheme of

    Studies1.1. Islamiat will be taught as an integratedIslamiat will be taught as an integrated

    subject in Classes Isubject in Classes I--II, and as a separate fullII, and as a separate full--fledged subject from Class III to Class XII.fledged subject from Class III to Class XII.

    6. History and geography will be taught ascompulsory subjects in Classes VI-VIII. Thecurriculum will include History of the sub-continent up to the creation of Pakistan in1947.

    7. Teaching of Computer Literacy (applied /hands on) will be compulsory for Classes VI-VIII after 3 years.

    8. Computer Science will be an elective subjectin Classes IX-X and will be offered as a Group

    in Class XI-XII.

    9. Elective subjects for Humanities Group will

    be offered in combinations of three relatedsubjects for Classes IX-X and XI-XII.

    10. Foreign Students may opt History andGeography of Pakistan in lieu of Urdu

    technologies) at Classes XI and XIIintroduced.

    12. After 5 years, Science and Mathematics willbe taught in English in all schools.
