He is currently the Executive Chairman of Nerine International Holdings Limited (“Nerine”) which has operations in the British Virgin Islands, Delhi, Geneva, Guernsey, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore. He has served on various industry representative bodies including as Chairman of the Guernsey International Business Association, Guernsey Association of Trustees, the GTA University Centre and was a founding committee member of the STEP Guernsey branch. Past appointments have included the Guernsey Financial Services Commission steering group for the introduction of the Guernsey fiduciary law and the Joint Money Laundering steering group. His executive duties include the chairing of boards of trustees for ultra high net worth family offices, and non executive director appointments of investment companies listed on various stock exchanges, some of whose audit committees he chairs. He is the author and contributor to various publications on trusts and estate planning, and has spoken on these subjects at various conferences and events around the world. Neal Duquemin (59), TEP – Deputy Chairman Neal has been in practice in the trust and company administration field in Guernsey for over 37 years. Having been with Ansbacher (C.I.) Limited, he joined Keith Corbin at Havelet Trust Company Limited in 1980 as the company secretary and subsequently as Deputy Managing Director of Havelet Holdings Limited. He played an important role in the development of that group until his departure in 1997. In 1999 he co-founded Larem Trustees with Keith. He is the Deputy Chairman of Nerine International Holdings Limited which is the parent company of both Larem Trustees Limited and Nerine Trust Company Limited and is a member of STEP. Neal also holds a number of directorships in both the commercial and finance sectors including acting as a director of infrastructure funds, emerging Europe development funds, fund of funds, property funds and buy-out funds. Robin Smith (54), FCCA, TEP – Finance Director Robin is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) who was educated in Guernsey and studied accountancy at Bristol Polytechnic and Derby University. with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells in London. Before being involved in the establishment of Nerine he was for 13 years the financial controller for the Havelet Group and a director of Havelet Trust Company (International) Limited, the principal operating subsidiary based in Guernsey.

Robin has responsibility for all aspects of group financial control but has in the past been responsible for a wide range of aspects of Nerine’s business including information technology, systems, compliance, personnel, and training. He was also involved in Nerine’s fund administration business and retains a directorship of a quoted Guernsey fund. He has particular experience of the administration of structures involving employment of staff in the oil and gas industry. He has been a member of the Channel Island members’ panel of his accountancy body, ACCA, since 2006.

Kevin Masterton (45), IMC, TEP – Client Services DirectorKevin has been involved in the fiduciary and financial services industry for 27 years, the last 4 of which as a Client Services Director of Nerine Trust company Limited.

Prior to joining Nerine he spent 9 years with Deutsche Bank in Guernsey, working with ultra high net worth families with regard to servicing their offshore needs in both the fiduciary and investment arena. He was a member of Deutsche Bank’s Guernsey Management Committee.

His executive duties include positions on boards of a number of Guernsey licensed trust companies and non executive positions on licensed funds and management companies. He takes special interest in all client investment relationships.

Robert Habin (42), MICA, TEP – Operations DirectorRob joined Nerine in November 2009 as Chief Operating Officer before being appointed to the Board in April 2010. Prior to this he spent 13 years with Julius Baer's trust company in Guernsey from 1995 to 2008 in senior management roles. Thereafter Rob was self employed for 2 years providing consultancy on fiduciary and performance measurement software to financial services businesses in Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

During the past 24 years Rob has been greatly involved with all areas of fiduciary operations, including business development, client relationship management, client accounting and systems configuration and implementation.

Rob's responsibilities within Nerine encompass all operational processes, including compliance, risk management, personnel, public relations and information technology.

Rob is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the International Compliance Association (ICA) having completed the International Diploma in Trust Management and the International Diploma in Compliance.

Mark Biddlecombe (43) LLB, ACIB, TEP – Client Services Director & In House Legal CounselMark joined Nerine in May 2010 and was appointed to the board in August 2010.

Qualified as a Barrister and as a Solicitor, and a full member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP), Mark has devoted his career to looking after the interests of high net worth individuals and families.

Before moving to Guernsey, Mark worked in Jersey, Singapore and London, and in that time he has worked for trust companies, law firms and accountants, giving him a broad perspective on the needs of the international private client.

During his career, Mark has worked for trust operations of large financial institutions, but has always believed that clients are best served by a truly independent trustee, such as Nerine.

Mark has always enjoyed the diversity of trust work, looking after a wide range of clients and assets over the years, and has a breadth of experience that is typical within Nerine, given its commitment to provide tailored solutions to the needs of its clients.
