DESCRIPTION
Working in collaboration with a classmate, three words geared towards college students were created and laid out onto 11″x17″ full color posters. All of the words were meant to be humorously relevant to college social scenes and the stereotypes that surround them; each word was given a part of speech, definition, etymology, usage example and visual depiction.

caromoleptic huff
•noun•
DEFINITION: the college-aged individual’s display of stupidity following a domestic dispute; often leads to a rendezvous at the local pub, excessive courassing, and a
drunken encounter that can only be described as “regrettable”
USAGE: John lives for caromoleptic huffs; he has one every weekend!
ETYMOLOGY: 2010, a blend formed by a literal play on words; carom (a collision that is followed by a rebound) was combined with a clipping of epileptic and the
word huff to suggest that after a confrontation with a significant other (a collision), the individual will rebound (in the informal sense of the word) suddenly as if being
seized (-leptic) in a fit of rage (huff)
sinplicated DEFINITION: pertaining to the relationship status posted on a social network, such as the college
lifeline Facebook; denotes a person who is single, but wishes they were in a “complicated” relationship to generate either drama or interest
USAGE: Sarah changed her status to “sinplicated;” she only wishes!
ETYMOLOGY: 2010, a blend of the words single (referring to one who is not in any kind of relationship) and complicated (one who has one or more partners and/or random “hook-ups” that, in the light of day, are deemed more than a one-night stand by at least one of the individuals involved);
describes the much agonized over and accepted source of official relationship status on Facebook, reflecting upon the profile’s creator; can elevate or depress his or her social image.
