24/7 Emergency Care The Emergency Department (ED) at Nemours Children’s Hospital is equipped to handle all kinds of pediatric emergencies. Unlike a general emergency room, our ED is dedicated exclusively to the care of children from newborn to age 18.

Primary Care in Central FloridaNemours experts partner with your family for the prevention of illness and the treatment of common pediatric health problems and illnesses. Nemours primary care providers include pediatricians, physician assistants and advanced nurse practitioners who have extensive training and experience in diagnosis and treatment for the wide variety of challenges that kids can have from the time they’re born until they turn 18. Kids-Only Urgent Care in Central FloridaNemours Children’s Urgent Care is ready for kids (from newborns up to age 21) with problems that can’t wait for office hours. Our six urgent care locations are open every day of the year providing evening (5–11 p.m.) and weekend (1–11 p.m.) acute care. Visit Nemours.org/FloridaUrgentCare to find out more.

§ Nemours Cardiac Center in Florida opened in 2016, expanding our existing expert cardiology services to include integrated care for kids with all types of heart disease.

§ Nemours pediatric radiologists are at the forefront of imaging and image-guided therapies, offering innovative ways to diagnose and treat conditions in a minimally invasive way.

§ Our neuromuscular program offers the area’s only Muscular Dystrophy Association-approved clinic, and Nemours Children’s Hospital is one of only four locations in the world conducting the first targeted drug trial for spinal muscular atrophy.

§ Nemours orthopedic specialists develop treatments to help children with bone, muscle and joint conditions become more independent. For example, the Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Center team performs minimally invasive surgery to insert a magnetically controlled device to help arm or leg bones grow longer.

§ Our Vascular Anomalies Program provides expert evaluation and treatment for children with vascular (blood or lymph vessel) conditions such as hemangiomas and arteriovenous malformations.

§ Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (NCCBD) isn’t a single “place,” but a multisite pediatric oncology and hematology program made up of four core locations, three of which are in Florida (all are members of the Children’s Oncology Group).

§ In cooperation with Wolfson Children’s Hospital and the UF Health Pediatric Weight Management Center in Jacksonville, we offer families the Nemours Cardiometabolic and Bariatric Center to provide expert evaluations and treatment for pediatric obesity.

§ Our International Adoption Medicine Program addresses the unique medical and developmental needs of internationally adopted children.

§ Juvenile arthritis care at Nemours is directed by one of the nation’s leading experts.
