The Decalogue

(The Ten Commandments)

The Law – Exodus 20 G-d spoke all these words, saying:

"I am the L-RD your G-d, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of

the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me.

"You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is

in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water

under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve

them, for I, the L-RD your G-d, am a jealous G-d, visiting the iniquity of

the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of

those who hate me, and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who

love me and keep my mitzvot.

"You shall not take the name of the L-RD your G-d in vain, for the L-RD will

not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

"Remember the day of Shabbat, to keep it holy. You shall labor six days, and

do all your work, but the seventh day is a Shabbat to the L-RD your G-d.

You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your

male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your

stranger who is within your gates; for in six days the L-RD made heaven

and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day;

therefore the L-RD blessed the day of Shabbat, and made it holy.

"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land

which the L-RD your G-d gives you.

"You shall not murder.

"You shall not commit adultery.

"You shall not steal.

"You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

"You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your

neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor

his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's."

Ancient of Days by Gary Sadler & Jamie Harvill

Blessing and honor, glory and power Be unto the Ancient of Days

From every nation, all of creation

Bow before the Ancient of Days

Every tongue in heaven and earth shall declare Your glory

Every knee shall bow at Your throne in worship

You will be exalted, O G-d,

And Your kingdom shall not pass away

O Ancient of days

Your kingdom shall reign over all the earth

Sing unto the Ancient of Days

For none can compare to Your matchless worth

Sing unto the Ancient of Days

HOLY HOLY HOLY Words: Reginald Heber, 1826. Heber wrote this hymn for Trinity Sunday while he was

Vicar of Hodnet, Shropshire, England.

Music: Nicaea, John B. Dykes, in Hymns Ancient and Modern, 1861.

Holy, holy, holy, L-rd G-d Almighty,

Early in the morning our songs shall rise to Thee.

Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty.

G-d in three Persons, blessed trinity.

Holy, holy, holy, all the saints adore Thee,

Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea.

Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,

Who wert and art and evermore shall be.

Holy, holy, holy, though the darkness hide Thee,

Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see.

Only Thou are holy; there is none beside Thee,

Perfect in power, in love and purity.

Holy, holy, holy, L-rd G-d Almighty,

All Thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth and sky and sea.

Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty,

G-d in three Persons, blessed trinity.

I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever by Martin Smith

Over the mountains and the seas

Your river runs with love for me

And I will open up my heart

And let the Healer set me free

I’m happy to be in the truth

And I will daily lift my hands

For I will always sing

Of when Your love came down

I could sing of Your love forever

I could sing of Your love forever

Everywhere I go I’m singing

Every breath of air I’m breathing

Everywhere I go I’ll sing of

When Your love came down

Oh I feel like dancing; it’s foolishness I know

But when the world has seen the light

They will dance with joy like we’re dancing now

4

My Savior, my closest friend

I will worship You until the very end

From the grave to the sky

Chorus:

Shout to the L-rd all the earth let us sing

Power and majesty, praise to the King

I sing for joy at the work of Your hands

Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand

Nothing compares to the promise I have in You

My Jesus, my Savior, L-rd, there is none like You

All of my days, I want to praise

The wonders of Your mighty love

My comfort, my shelter, tower of refuge and strength

Let ev'ry breath, all that I am

Never cease to worship You

You Are My All in All by Dennis Jernigan

You are my strength when I am weak,

You are the treasure that I seek,

You are my all in all.

Seeking You as a precious jewel,

L-rd to give up I'd be a fool,

You are my all in all.

Jesus, Lamb of G-d, worthy is Your Name. (Repeat)

Taking my sin, my cross, my shame,

Rising again, I praise Your Name,

When I fall down You pick me up,

When I am dry You fill my cup,

Bind Us Together

Words by Bob Gillman

Bind us together, L-rd,

Bind us together with cords

That cannot be broken.

Bind us together, L-rd,

Bind us together,

Bind us together with love.

There is only one G-d.

There is only one King.

There is only one Body.

That is why we sing:

Bind us together, L-rd,

Bind us together with cords

That cannot be broken.

Bind us together, L-rd,

Bind us together,

Bind us together with love.

I’m gonna Praise the L-rd

Lift up His Name

Because of Him I’m not the same

Person that I always used to be

His love has broke the chains

And now I’m free

To be all that He asks of me

Never gonna be the same again

Praise you Jesus; All Hail unto our King

Praise you Jesus; The reason that I sing

As David Did Words and music by Martin Nystrom

Chorus:

We can come before Him

And worship Him today

We can now adore Him

Jesus made the way

As David did in Jehovah's sight,

I will dance with all my might

Before the King of kings.

As Miriam did with the tambourine,

I will clap my hands and sing

Before the King of kings.

As Judah did on the battleground,

We will make a joyful sound,

Before the Kings of kings.

As Joshua did at Jericho,

We will shout and defeat the foe

Before the King of kings.

POWER OF YOUR LOVE Hillsong United

L-rd I come to You,

Let my heart be changed, renewed,

Flowing from the grace, that I found in You.

L-rd, I’ve come to know,

The weaknesses I see in me,

Will be stripped away

By the power of Your love

Chorus:

Hold me close, let Your love surround me,

Bring me near, draw me to Your side (echo)

And as I wait, I’ll rise up like the eagle

And I will soar with You, Your spirit leads me on

In the power of Your love

L-rd, unveil my eyes, let me see You face to face

The knowledge of Your love, as You live in me

L-rd renew my mind,

As Your will unfolds in my life

In living every day, in the power of Your love.

Trading My Sorrows Darryl Evans

I'm trading my sorrow

I'm trading my shame

I'm laying them down for the joy of the L-rd

I'm trading my sickness

And we say yes L-rd, yes L-rd, yes, yes, L-rd

Yes L-rd, yes L-rd, yes, yes, L-rd

Yes L-rd, yes L-rd, yes, yes, L-rd. Amen

I'm pressed but not crushed

persecuted not abandoned

Struck down but not destroyed

I'm blessed beyond the curse

for His promise will endure

And His joy's gonna be my strength

Though the sorrow may last for the night

His joy comes with the morning...

When I Look into Your Holiness by Wayne Perrin & Cathy Perrin

When I look into Your holiness

When I gaze into Your loveliness

When all things that surround become shadows

In the light of You

When I found the joy of reaching Your heart

When my will becomes enthroned in Your love

When all things that surround become shadows

I worship You, I worship You

The reason I live is to worship You

I worship You, I worship You

The reason I live is to worship You

The Heart of Worship (When the Music Fades)

by Matt Redman

When the music fades, all is stripped away,

And I simply come; longing just to bring

Something that’s of worth that will bless Your heart.

I’ll bring You more than a song, for a song in itself Is not what You have required.

You search much deeper within

Through the way things appear;

You’re looking into my heart.

I’m coming back to the heart of worship,

And it’s all about You, all about You, Jesus.

I’m sorry, L-rd, for the thing I’ve made it,

When it’s all about You, all about You, Jesus.

King of endless worth, no one could express

How much You deserve. Though I’m weak and poor,

All I have is Yours, ev’ry single breath.

Sanctuary by John W. Thompson & Randy Scruggs

L-rd, prepare me to be a sanctuary,

Pure and holy, tried and true.

With thanksgiving, I'll be a living

Sanctuary for You.

It was You, L-rd, who gave the Savior,

Heart and soul, L-rd, to ev'ry man.

It is You, L-rd, who knows my weakness,

You refine me with Thine own hand.

Lead me O L-rd, through temptation,

You refine me from within.

Fill our hearts with Your Holy Spirit,

And take all our sins away.

The Solid Rock By Edward Mote & William B. Bradbury

My hope is built on nothing less

Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;

I dare not trust the sweetest frame,

But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Chorus:

On Christ the solid rock I stand,

All other ground is sinking sand,

All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,

I rest on His unchanging grace;

In every high and stormy gale,

My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood

Support me in the whelming flood;

When all around my soul gives way,

He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,

O may I then in Him be found,

Dress in His righteousness alone,

Faultless to stand before the throne.

Awesome G-d by Rich Mullins

When He rolls up His sleeves He ain't just puttin' on the ritz

Our G-d is an awesome G-d

There is thunder in His footsteps and lightning in His fist

Our G-d is an awesome G-d

The L-rd wasn't joking when He kicked 'em out of Eden

It wasn't for no reason that He shed His blood

His return is very close and so you better be believing

That our G-d is an awesome G-d

Our G-d is an awesome G-d, He reigns from heaven above

With wisdom, power and love, our G-d is an awesome G-d

When the sky was starless in the void of the night

Our G-d is an awesome G-d

He spoke into the darkness and created the light

Our G-d is an awesome G-d

Judgment and wrath He poured out on Sodom

Mercy and grace He gave us at the cross

I hope that we have not too quickly forgotten that

Our G-d is an awesome G-d

They'll Know We Are Christians by Peter Scholtes

We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the L-rd

We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the L-rd

And we pray that all unity may one day be restored

Chorus:

And they'll know we are Christians by our love,

by our love Yes, they'll know we are Christians by our love.

We will walk with each other, we will walk hand in

hand.

We will walk with each other, we will walk hand in

hand.

And together we'll spread the news that G-d is in our

land

We will work with each other, we will work side by side.

We will work with each other, we will work side by side.

And we'll guard each man's dignity and save each

man's pride.

All praise to the Father from whom all things come.

And all praise to Christ Jesus, His only Son.

And all praise to the Spirit who makes us one.

Alas! and Did My Savior Bleed? by Isaac Watts & Hugh Wilson

The message of the cross…is the power of G-d. 1 Cor. 1:18

Alas! and did my Savior bleed

And did my sovereign die?

Would He devote that sacred Head

For sinners such as I?

Was it for sins that I have done

He suffered on the tree?

Amazing pity! grace unknown!

And love beyond degree!

Well might the sun in darkness hide

And shut His glories in,

When Christ, the great Redeemer, died

For man the creature’s sin.

Thus might I hide my blushing face

While His dear cross appears,

Dissolve my heart in thankfulness,

And melt mine eyes to tears.

But drops of grief can ne’er repay

The debt of love I owe;

Here, L-rd, I give myself away –

‘Tis all that I can do.

To G-d Be the Glory by Fanny J. Crosby & William H. Doane

The L-rd has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Ps. 126:3

To G-d be the glory, great things He hath done!

So loved He the world that He gave us His Son

Who yielded His life an atonement for sin

And opened the Life-gate that all may go in.

Chorus:

Praise the L-rd, praise the L-rd, let the earth hear His

voice!

Praise the L-rd, praise the L-rd, let the people rejoice!

O come to the Father through Jesus the Son,

And give Him the glory, great things He hath done!

O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood!

To ev’ry believer the promise of G-d;

The vilest offender who truly believes,

That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

(Chorus)

Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath

done,

And great our rejoicing thru Jesus the Son;

But purer and higher and greater will be

Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

(Chorus)

There Is Power in the Blood by Lewis E. Jones

They overcame Him by the blood of the Lamb. Revelation 12:11

Would you be free from the burden of sin?

There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;

Would you o’er evil a victory win?

There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.

Chorus:

There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r

In the blood of the Lamb;

There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r

In the precious blood of the Lamb.

Would you be free from your passion and pride?

There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;

Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide?

There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood. (Chorus)

Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?

There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;

Sin-stains are lost in its life-giving flow.

There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood. (Chorus)

Would you do service for Jesus your King?

There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;

Would you live daily His praises to sing?

There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood. (Chorus)

In the Garden In the Garden (I Come to the Garden Alone)

Words and music by C. Austin Mles. Public Domain.

I come to the garden alone,

While the dew is still on the roses,

And the voice I hear falling on my ear,

The Son of G-d discloses.

Chorus:

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,

And He tells me I am His own;

And the joy we share as we tarry there,

None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice

Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,

And the melody that He gave to me

Within my heart is ringing. (Chorus)

I'd stay in the garden with Him,

Though the night around me be falling

But He bids me go; thru the voice of woe,

His voice to me is calling. (Chorus)

Just As I Am Just As I Am

Words by Charlotte Elliot and

Henry Smart. Public Domain.

Just as I am, without one plea,

But that Thy blood was shed for me,

And that Thou bid’s me come to Thee

O Lamb of G-d I come, I come!

Just as I am, and waiting not,

To rid my soul of one dark blot,

To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,

Oh Lamb of G-d I come, I come!

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,

Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;

Because Thy promise I believe,

O Lamb of G-d I come, I come!

Nothing But the Blood by Robert Lowry

The blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

What can wash away my sin?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus

What can make me whole again?

Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Chorus:

Oh! Precious is the flow that makes me white as snow;

No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For my pardon this I see,

Nothing but the blood of Jesus;

For my cleansing, this my plea,

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Nothing can for sin atone,

Nothing but the blood of Jesus;

Naught of good that I have done,

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

This is all my hope and peace,

Nothing but the blood of Jesus;

This is all my righteousness,

Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Because He Lives by Gloria Gaither & William J. Gaither

G-d sent His Son, they called Him Jesus

He came to love, heal and forgive

He lived and died, to buy my pardon

An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives

Chorus:

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow

Because He lives, all fear is gone

Because I know who holds the future

My life is worth the living just because He lives

How sweet to hold A new born baby,

And feel the pride, And joy he gives;

But greater still The calm assurance,

This child can face uncertain days Because He lives.

(Chorus)

And then one day I’ll cross the river; I’ll fight life’s

Final war with pain, And then as death Gives way to

vict’ry, I’ll see the lights of glory And I’ll know He lives.

(Chorus)

When the Roll is called up Yonder James M. Black, 1893. Public Domain.

When the trumpet of the L-rd shall sound and time shall be

no more

And the morning breaks eternal bright and fair

When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore

And the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there.

Chorus:

When the roll is called up yonder

When the roll is called up yonder

When the roll is called up yonder

When the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there.

On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in

Christ shall rise

And the glory of his resurrection share

When his chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the

skies

And the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there. (Chorus)

Let us labor for the master from the dawn to setting sun

Let us talk of all his wondrous love and care

Then when all of life is over and our work on earth is done

And the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there. (Chorus)

Create in Me a Clean Heart by Keith Green

Create in me a clean heart, O G-d

And renew a right spirit within me

Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation

And renew a right spirit within me

Here I Am to Worship by Tim Hughes

Light of the World, You stepped down into darkness.

Opened my eyes, let me see.

Beauty that made this heart adore You,

Hope of a life spent with You.

So, here I am to worship, here I am to bow down,

Here I am to say that You’re my G-d.

And You’re altogether lovely, altogether worthy,

Altogether wonderful to me.

King of all days, oh so highly exalted,

Glorious in heaven above.

Humbly You came to the Earth You created,

All for love’s sake became poor.

And I’ll never know how much it cost

To see my sin upon that cross. (Repeat)

Come, now is the time to give your heart

Come, just as you are to worship

Come, just as you are before your G-d

Chorus:

One day every tongue will confess You are G-d

One day every knee will bow

Still the greatest treasure remains for those

Who gladly choose You now

Mary, Did You Know? By Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene

Mary did you know, that your baby boy would someday

walk on water?

Mary did you know, that your baby boy would save our

sons and daughters?

Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you

new?

This child that you’ve delivered will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to

a blind man?

Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a

storm with His hand?

Did you know that your baby boy has walked where

angels trod?

When you’ve kissed your little baby then you’ve kissed

the face of G-d.

The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live

again,

The lame will leap, the dumb will speak the praises of

the Lamb.

Mary did you know that your baby boy is L-rd of all

If We never Meet Again By: Albert E. Brumley

Soon we’ll come to the end of life’s journey

And perhaps we’ll never meet anymore,

Til we gather in Heaven’s bright city,

Far away on that beautiful shore.

If we never meet again this side of Heaven,

As we struggle through this world and it’s strife,

There’s another meeting place somewhere in Heaven,

By the side of the river of life.

Where the charming roses bloom forever

And where separations come no more.

If we never meet again this side of Heaven

I will meet you on that beautiful shore.

Just a Closer Walk With Thee An American traditional spiritual, 19th century

I am weak, but Thou art strong;

Jesus, keep me from all wrong;

I’ll be satisfied as long,

As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.

Chorus:

Just a closer walk with Thee,

Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,

Daily walking close to Thee,

Let it be, dear L-rd, let it be.

Through this world of toils and snares,

If I falter, L-rd, who cares?

Who with me my burden shares?

None but Thee, dear L-rd, none but Thee. (Chorus)

When my feeble life is o’er,

Time for me will be no more;

Guide me gently, safely o’er,

To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy kingdom shore. (Chorus)

48

Softly and Tenderly By: Will L. Thompson

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling

Calling for you and for me

See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching,

Watching for you and for me.

Chorus:

Come home, come home,

You who are weary come home

Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling

Calling, O sinner, come home!

O for the wonderful love He has promised

Promised for you and for me

Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon

Pardon for you and for me.

(Chorus)

The Church in the Wildwood William S. Pitts, 1857

There’s a church in the valley by the wildwood,

No lovelier place in the dale,

No spot is so dear to my childhood,

As the little brown church in the dale.

Chorus:

Oh, come, come, come, come,

Come to the church in the wildwood,

Oh, come to the church in the dale.

No spot is so dear to my childhood,

As the little brown church in the dale.

How sweet on a clear Sabbath morning

To listen to the clear ringing bell,

Its tones so sweetly are calling,

Oh, come to the church in the dale.

(Chorus)

There, close by the side of a loved one,

’Neath the trees where the wild flowers bloom

She sleeps, sweetly sleeps, ‘neath the willow,

Disturb not her rest in the tomb.

(Chorus twice)

A-TALKING WITH THE L-RD Hank Williams Sr.

On your journey to the grave,

In the Secret by Andy Park

I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of

sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, to

attain to the resurrection from the dead. Philippians 3:10-11

In the secret, in the quiet place

In the stillness You are there

In the secret, in the quiet hour I wait only for You

'Cause I want to know You more

Chorus:

I want to know You

I want to hear Your voice

I want to know You more

I want to touch You

I want to see Your face

I want to know You more

I am reaching for the highest goal

That I might receive the prize

Pressing onward, pushing every hindrance aside

Out of my way

'Cause I want to know You more

I'm Using My Bible For A Roadmap

I'm using my Bible for a roadmap

The Commandments tell me what to do

The 12 Disciples are my roadsigns

And Jesus will see me safely through.

Chorus:

There'll be no detours in Heaven

No rough roads along the way

I'm using my Bible for a roadmap

My last stop is Heaven some sweet day.

I'm using my Bible for a roadmap

The Children of Israel used it too

They crossed the Red Sea of Destruction

For G-d was there to see them through.

Repeat Chorus

When I walk by Your side

I can only imagine what my eyes will see

When Your face is before me

I can only imagine, I can only imagine

Chorus:

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel?

Will I dance for You Jesus or in awe of You be still?

Will I stand in Your presence, to my knees will I fall?

Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all?

I can only imagine, I can only imagine

I can only imagine when that day comes

And I find myself standing in the Son

I can only imagine when all I will do

Is forever, forever worship You

I can only imagine, I can only imagine

I know for sure all of my days are held in Your hand

Crafted into Your perfect plan

Guiding me by Your Holy Spirit, teach me dear L-rd

To live all of my life through Your eyes

I’m captured by Your holy calling

Set me apart, I know You’re drawing me to Yourself

I give my life to the Potter’s hand

Call me, guide me, lead me, walk beside me

He will make a way

El Shaddai by John W. Thompson & Michael Card

Chorus:

El Shaddai, El Shaddai, El El yon na Adonai

Age to age You're still the same,

by the power of the name

El Shaddai, El Shaddai, Er kam ka na Adonai

We will praise and lift You high, El Shaddai

Through Your love and through the ram

You saved the son of Abraham

Through the power of Your hand

You turned the sea into dry land

To the outcast on her knees

You were the G-d who really sees

And by Your might, You set the captives free (Chorus)

Through the years You made it clear

That the time of Christ was near

Though the people couldn't see

What Messiah ought to be

Though Your Word contained the plan

They just could not understand

Your most awesome work was done

Through the frailty of Your Son (Chorus)

Message of the Cross By Delirious

This is the message of the cross, that we can be free

To live in the victory and turn from our sin.

My precious L-rd Jesus

With sinners you died.

For there you revealed your love and you laid down

your life.

This is the message of the cross, that we can be free.

To lay all our burdens here at the foot of the tree.

The cross was the shame of the world

But the glory of G-d

For Jesus, You conquered sin and You gave us new life.

You set me free when I came to the cross,

Poured out your blood for I was broken and lost.

There I was healed and you covered my sin

It's there you saved me

This is the message of the cross

This is the message of the cross, that we can be free.

To hunger for heaven, L-rd, to hunger for Thee.

"The cross is such foolishness to the perishing,

But to us who are being saved, it is the power of G-d."

You set us free when we come to the cross.

You pour out your blood for we are broken and lost.

Here we are healed and you cover our sin.

It's here you save us.

You set me free when I come to the cross.

Pour out your blood for I am broken and lost.

Here I am healed and you cover my sin.

It's here you save me.

This is the message of the cross.

Let us rejoice at the foot of the cross

We can be free, glory to G-d

Thank you, L-rd, Thank you, L-rd

You set us free, glory to G-d

TAKE ME IN Dave Browning

Take me past the outer courts

And through the holy place,

Past the brazen altar;

L-rd, I want to see Your face.

Pass me by the crowds of people,

And the priests who sing their praise;

I hunger and thirst for Your righteousness

But it’s only found one place.

So take me in to the Holy of Holies,

Take me in by the blood of the Lamb;

So take me in to the Holy of Holies,

Take the coal, cleanse my lips, here I am.

And the night is closing in

You are here, no evil will I fear

All the joy that’s growing deep inside of me

Ev’ry time I see You, all Your goodness shines through

And I can feel this G-d song rising up in me

Yes, you make me sing

L-rd, you make me sing, sing, sing

How you make me sing

He sends down His love; On the wings of a dove.

He searched for land; in various ways

Troubles he had some; but wasn't forgotten

Arise and shine for thy light is come

Arise and shine for thy light is come

The glory of the L-rd is seen upon thee

And the sons of those who afflicted thee

And all who have despised you will bow down

Then they shall call you, "The City of The L-rd!"

Zion of the Holy One of Israel!

Every mountain stream, every sunset sky

But my one request, L-rd, my only aim

Is that You reign in me again.

Over all my dreams, in my darkest hour

Cause You mean more to me than any earthly thing

So won't You reign in me again (Chorus)

Just a Little Talk with Jesus Words and Music by Clevant Derricks

I once was lost in sin but Jesus took me in,

And then a little light from heaven filled my soul.

He bathed my heart in love and wrote my name above,

Just a little talk with Jesus made me whole.

Chorus:

Now let us have a little talk with Jesus

Let us tell Him all about our troubles

He will hear our faintest cry and He will answer by and

by

Now when you feel a prayer wheel turning

Then you'll know a little fire is burning

You will find a little talk with Jesus make it right.

I may have doubts and fears, my eyes be filled with

tears

But Jesus is a friend who watches day and night

I go to Him in prayer, He knows my every care

And just a little talk with Jesus makes it right.

I Saw the Light Hank Williams Sr.

I wandered so aimless, life filled with sin;

I wouldn’t ask my dear saviour in.

Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night;

Praise the L-rd, I saw the light!

Chorus:

I saw the light, I saw the light.

No more darkness; no more night.

Now I’m so happy no sorrow in sight.

Praise the L-rd, I saw the light!

Just like a blind man I wandered alone,

Worries and fears I claimed for my own.

Then like the blind man that Jesus gave back his sight;

Praise the L-rd, I saw the light!

(Chorus)

I was a fool to wander astray,

For straight is the gate and narrow is the way.

Now I have traded the wrong for the right;

Praise the L-rd, I saw the light!

The Lighthouse A traditional gospel song

There’s a lighthouse on the hillside; that overlooks life’s

sea

When I’m tossed it sends out a light, that I might see

And the light that shines in darkness now will safely

lead us o’er

If it wasn’t for the lighthouse, my ship would be no

more.

Chorus:

And I thank G-d for the lighthouse, I owe my life to

Him

For Jesus is the lighthouse, and from the rocks of sins

He has shone a light around me, that I could clearly see.

If it wasn’t for the lighthouse, tell me where would my

ship be?

Everybody that lives about us, says tear that lighthouse

down

The big ships don’t sail this way anymore, there’s no

use in it standing round.

Then my mind goes back that stormy night when just in

time I saw the light;

Yes the light from that old lighthouse that stands up

there on the hill.

(Chorus)

(Give me that) Old-Time Religion -A traditional gospel song dating from 1873

Give me that old-time religion,

Give me that old-time religion;

Give me that old-time religion,

It's good enough for me.

It was good for our mothers,

It was good for our mothers;

It was good for our mothers,

And it's good enough for me.

It has served our fathers,

It has served our father;

It has served our fathers,

And it’s good enough for me.

Makes me love everybody,

Makes me love everybody;

Makes me love everybody,

And it’s good enough for me.

It will do when I'm dying,

It will do when I’m dying;

It will do when I’m dying,

And it’s good enough for me.

It will take us all to heaven,

It will take us all to heaven;

It will take us all to heaven,

And it’s good enough for me.

Life’s Railway to Heaven Eliza R. Snow

Life is like a mountain railroad

With an engineer that’s brave.

We must make the run successful,

From the cradle to the grave.

Heed the curves, the hills, the tunnels,

Never falter, never fail.

Keep your hands upon the throttle

And your eyes upon the rail.

Chorus:

Blessed Savior Thou wilt guide us,

‘Til we reach that blissful shore.

Where the angels wait to join us,

In G-d’s great forevermore.

As we roll along the mainline

There’ll be storms and there’ll be night.

There’ll be sidetracks unexpected

On the left and on the right.

But with the straight always before us

And our hearts upon the prize,

There’ll be no disembarkation

Until we reach paradise.

(Chorus)

The L-rd Reigns by Dan Stradwick

Chorus:

The L-rd reigns, the L-rd reigns, the L-rd reigns

Let the earth rejoice, let the earth rejoice, let the earth

rejoice

And the people be glad, that our G-d reigns

A fire goes before Him, and burns up all His enemies

The hills melt like wax at the presence of the L-rd

At the presence of the L-rd (Chorus)

The heavens declare His righteousness, the people see

His glory

For You, O L-rd, are exalted over all the earth

Over all the earth (Chorus)

Jesus Is Coming Soon R. E. Winsett, 1942

Verse 1:

Troublesome times are here, filling men's hearts with

fear,

Freedom we all hold dear now is at stake;

Humbling your heart to G-d saves from chast'ning rod,

Seek the way pilgrims trod, Christians, awake.

Verse 2:

Love of so many cold, losing their home of gold,

This in G-d's Word is told, evils abound;

When these signs come to pass, nearing the end at last,

It will come ver-y fast, trumpets will sound.

Verse 3:

Troubles will soon be o'er, happy for evermore,

When we meet on that shore, free from all care;

Rising up in the sky, telling this world good-bye,

Homeward we then will fly, glory to share.

Chorus:

Jesus is coming soon, morning or night or noon,

Many will meet their doom, trumpets will sound;

All of the dead shall rise, Righteous meet in the skies,

Going where no one dies, heavenward bound.

WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE Lyrics and Composer: Jim Hill

There is coming a day

When no heartache shall come

No more clouds in the sky

No more tears to dim the eye

All is peace forever more

On that happy golden shore

What a day, glorious day that will be

Chorus:

What a day that will be

When my Jesus I shall see

And I look upon His face

The One who saved my by His grace

When He takes me by the hand

And leads me through the Promised Land

What a day, glorious day that will be

There'll be no sorrow there

No more burdens to bear

No more sickness, no pain

No more parting over there

And forever I will be

With the One who died for me

What a day, glorious day that will be (Chorus)

Days Of Elijah Donnie McClurkin

These are the days of Elijah,

Declaring the word of the L-rd,

And these are the days of Your servant, Moses,

Righteousness being restored.

And though these are the days of great trials,

Of famine and darkness and sword,

Still, we are the voice in the desert crying,

"Prepare ye the way of the L-rd!"

CHORUS:

Behold he comes, riding on the clouds,

Shining like the sun at the trumpet call.

So lift your voice, it's the year of jubilee,

And out of Zion's hill, salvation comes.

And these are the days of Ezekiel,

The dry bones becoming as flesh.

And these are the days of Your servant, David,

Rebuilding the temple of praise.

And these are the days of the harvest,

The fields are as white in the world.

And we are the laborers in Your vineyard,

Declaring the word of the L-rd! (Chorus)

There's no G-d like Jehovah, there's no G-d like Jehovah,

There's no G-d like Jehovah, there's no G-d like Jehovah.

(Repeat 3 times)

Psalm 23

The L-rd is my shepherd I shall not want

He makes me lie down in green pastures

He leads me beside still waters

He restoreth my soul

Yea, though I walk through

The valley of the shadow of death

I will fear no evil

For thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff

They comfort me

Thou preparest a table before me

In the presence of mine enemies

Thou anointest my head with oil,

My cup runneth over

Surely goodness and mercy will follow me

All the days of my life

And I will dwell in the house of the L-rd forever.

The River is Here Vineyard Music

Down the mountain the river flows

And it brings refreshing wherever it goes

Through the valleys and over the fields

The river is rushing and the river is here.

Chorus:

The river of G-d sets our feet a-dancing

The river of G-d fills our hearts with cheer

The river of G-d fills our mouths with laughter

And we rejoice for the river is here.

The river of G-d is teeming with life

And all who touch it can be revived

And those who linger on this river’s shore

Will come back thirsting for more of the L-rd.

(Chorus)

Up to the mountain we love to go

To find the presence of the L-rd

Along the banks of the river we run

We dance with laughter giving praise to the Son.

(Chorus)

One Day at a Time Marijohn Wilkin

I’m only human, I’m just a man.

Help me believe in what I could be, and all that I am.

Show me the stairway I have to climb.

L-rd for my sake, help me to take one day at a time.

Chorus:

One day at a time sweet Jesus. That’s all I’m asking

from You.

Just give me the strength to do ev’ryday what I have to

do.

Yesterday’s gone sweet Jesus. And tomorrow may

never be mine.

L-rd help me today, show me the way. One day at a

time.

Do you remember when you walked among men?

Well, Jesus you know if you’re looking below It’s worse

now than then.

Pushin’ and shovin’, crowding my mind.

So for my sake, teach me to take one day at a time.

Say to the Mountain Paul Wilbur

Chorus:

I will say to the mountain that stands in my way, “Be removed now and cast in the sea”;

I believe that these things which I say

Come to pass and have whatsoever I say,

Yes I have what so ever I say.

I will walk by what G-d says

And not by what I see;

For those things are temporal

And they’re subject to be changed.

(Chorus – So I’ll…)

I hold fast to my confession

I won’t change my mind;

G-d has promised He will do it

He’s faithful all the time.

(Chorus – So I’ll…)

In Christ Alone Stuart Townend and Keith Getty

In Christ alone, my hope is found

He is my light, my strength, my song

This Cornerstone, this solid ground

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace

When fears are stilled, when strivings cease

My Comforter, my All in All

Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, who took on flesh

Fullness of G-d in helpless babe

This gift of love and righteousness

Scorned by the ones He came to save

‘Til on that cross as Jesus died

The wrath of G-d was satisfied

For every sin on Him was laid

Here in the death of Christ I live

This World is not My Home Jim Reeves

This world is not my home, I’m just a-passing through;

My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue.

The angels beckon me from Heaven’s open door,

And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.

Chorus:

Oh, L-rd you know I have no friend like You,

If Heaven’s not my home, then L-rd what will I do?

The angels beckon me from Heaven’s open door,

And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.

They’re all expecting me, and that’s one thing I know.

My Savior’s pardoned me, and now I onward go.

I know He’ll take me through, though I am weak and poor,

And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.

(Chorus)

I have a loving mother up in glory land,

And I don’t expect to stop until I shake her hand.

She’s waiting now for me in Heaven’s open door,

And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.

(Chorus)

Just up in glory land we’ll live eternally;

The saints on every hand are shouting victory.

Their songs of sweetest praise drift back from Heaven’s shore,

And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.

(Chorus)

All I Know Larry Petree

Though I feel afraid of territory unknown,

I know that I can say that I do not stand alone.

For Jesus you have promised your presence in my

heart;

I cannot see the ending, but it’s here that I must start.

Chorus:

And all I know is you have called me,

And that I will follow is all I can say.

I will go where you will send me

And your fire lights my way.

What lies across the waves may cause my heart to fear;

Will I survive the day, must I leave what’s known and

dear?

A ship that’s in the harbor is still safe from harm

But it was not built to be there, it was made for wind

and storm.

(Chorus)

L-rd, the light of Your love is shining,

In the midst of the darkness shining!

Jesus, Light of the World, shine upon us;

Set us free by the truth You now bring us!

Shine on me, Shine on me!

Chorus:

Shine, Jesus shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory;

Blaze spirit blaze, set our hearts on fire.

Flow, river flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy;

Send forth Your Word, L-rd, and let there be light.

L-rd I come to Your awesome presence,

From the shadows into your radiance;

By the blood I may enter Your brightness,

Search me, try me, consume all my darkness,

Shone on me, Shine on me!

(Chorus)

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness,

So our faces display Your likeness;

Ever changing from glory to glory,

Mirror’d here may our lives tell Your story,

Shine on me, Shine on me!

My Redeemer Lives (By: Nicole C. Mullins)

Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?

Who told the ocean you can only come this far?

Who showed the moon where to hide ‘til evening?

Whose words alone can catch a falling star?

Chorus:

Well I know my Redeemer lives

I know my Redeemer lives

All of creation testify

His life within me cries

I know my Redeemer lives

The every same G-d that spins things in orbit

He runs to the weary, the worn and the weak

And the same gentle hands that hold me when I’m

broken

They conquered death to bring me victory. (Chorus –

Now…)

To take away my shame

And He lives forever, I’ll proclaim

That the payment for my sin

Was the precious life He gave

But now He’s alive and

There’s an empty grave! (Chorus – Now…)

The Unclouded Day Josiah K. Alwood, circa 1880

O they tell me of a home far beyond the skies

O they tell me of a home far away

O they tell me of a place where no storm clouds rise

O they tell me of an uncloudy day.

Chorus:

O the land of cloudless day

O the land of an uncloudy sky

O they tell me of a place where no storm clouds rise

O they tell me of an uncloudy day.

O they tell me of a place where my friends have gone

O they tell me of that land far away

Where the tree of life in eternal bloom

Sheds its fragrance on an uncloudy day.

(Chorus)

O they tell me that he smiles on his children there

And his smile drives their sorrows away

And they tell me that no tears ever come again

In that lovely land of uncloudy day.

Peace in the Valley Thomas A. Dorsey, 1937

Well, I'm tired and so weary

But I must go along

Till the lord will come and call, call me away, oh yeah

Well the morning's so bright

And the Lamb is the light

And the night, night is as black as the sea, oh yes

Chorus:

There will be peace in the valley for me, some day

There will be peace in the valley for me, oh L-rd I pray

There'll be no sadness, no sorrow, no trouble, I see

There will be peace in the valley for me

Well the bear will be gentle

And the wolf will be tame

And the lion shall lay down, down by the lamb, oh yes

And the beasts from the wild

Shall be led by a child

And I'll be changed, changed from this creature that I

am

(Chorus)

Daddy Sang Bass (Carl Perkins, 1968)

I remember when I was a lad

Times were hard and things were bad

But there's a silver linin' behind ev'ry cloud

Just four people that 's all we were

Tryin' to make a livin' out of black-land dirt

But we'd get together in a family circle singin' loud

Daddy sang bass (mama sang tenor)

Me and little brother would join right in there

Singin' seems to help a troubled soul

One of these days and it won't be long

I'll rejoin them in a song

I'm gonna join the family circle at the throne

Though the circle won't be broken

By and by, L-rd, by and by

Daddy sang bass (mama sang tenor)

Me and little brother would join right in there

In the sky, L-rd, in the sky

Now I remember after work mama would call in all of

us

You could hear us singin' for a country mile

Now little brother has done gone on

But I'll rejoin him in a song

We'll be together again up yonder in a little while

Daddy sang bass (mama sang tenor)

Me and little brother would join right in there

'cause singin' seems to help a troubled soul

One of these days and it won't be long

I'll rejoin them in a song

I'm gonna join the family circle at the throne

Oh no the circle won't be broken

By and by, L-rd, by and by

Daddy sang bass (mama sang tenor)

Me and little brother would join right in there

In the sky, L-rd, in the sky

In the sky, L-rd, in the sky

He Set Me Free Lyrics and Melody: Albert E. Brumley

Once like a bird in prison I dwelt,

no freedom from my sorrow I felt

But Jesus came and listened to me,

glory to G-d, He set me free!

Chorus:

He set me free, yes, He set me free,

He broke the bonds of prison for me

I'm glory bound my Jesus to see,

glory to G-d, He set me free!

Good bye to sin and the things that confound,

naught of this world shall turn me around

Daily I'm working, I'm praying too,

glory to G-d I'm going through!

Chorus 2X

He Turned the Water Into Wine Johnny Cash

He turned the water into wine,

He turned the water into wine.

In the little Canaan town,

The word went all around, that

He turned the water into wine.

Well, He fed the hungry multitude.

He fed the hungry multitude.

With a little bit of fish and bread,

They say everyone was fed.

He fed the hungry multitude.

He walked upon the sea of Galilee.

He walked upon the sea of Galilee.

He shouted far and wide,

He calmed the raging tide.

And walked upon the sea of Galiee.

He healed the leper and the lame.

He healed the leper and the lame.

He said, "Go and tell no man,"

But they shouted it through the land, that

He healed the leper and the lame.

Precious Memories (J. B. F. Wright)

Precious mem'ries, unseen angels

Sent from somewhere to my soul

How they linger, ever near me

And the sacred past unfold.

CHORUS:

Precious mem'ries, how they linger

How they ever flood my soul

In the stillness of the midnight

Precious, sacred scenes unfold.

Precious father, loving mother

Fly across the lonely years

And old home scenes of my childhood

In fond memory appear.

In the stillness of the midnight

Echoes from the past I hear

Old-time singing, gladness bringing

From that lovely land somewhere.

I remember mother praying

Father, too, on bended knee

Sun is sinking, shadows falling

But their pray'rs still follow me.

As I travel on life's pathway

Know not what the years may hold

As I ponder, hope grows fonder

Precious mem'ries flood my soul.

You Can't Be A Beacon

(If Your Light Don't Shine) Words and music: Martin Cooper

Chorus:

You can't be a beacon if your light don't shine.

You can't be a beacon if your light don't shine.

There's a little light in all of us by G-d's design,

And you can't be a beacon if your light don't shine.

How can you ask for truth when you do not truthful

live?

How can you ask forgiveness when you don't forgive?

I don't mean to bring you down or speak to you unkind.

But you can't be a beacon if your light don't shine.

Chorus

How can you ask a child to be honest and true,

When he can only judge what's right by what he sees in

you?

How can you offer vision yet walk around blind?

You can't be a beacon if your light don't shine.

Chorus

May G-d's love surround you, may you find a brighter

day.

May He grant you the peace you seek in every way.

G-d's light burns in every life, yours and mine,

And you can be a beacon if you let it shine.

You can be a beacon if you let it shine,

You can be a beacon if you let it shine.

There's a little light in all of us by G-d's design,

And you can be a beacon if you let it shine.

Wayfaring Stranger

I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger

A travel'n through this world of woe

But there's no sickness, no toil nor danger

In that bright world to which I go.

Refrain:

I'm goin' there to see my father

I'm goin' there no more to roam;

I'm just a-goin' over Jordan

I'm just a-goin' over home.

I know dark clouds will gather 'round me

I know my way is rough and steep;

But golden fields lay just before me

Where G-d's redeemed no more shall weep.

Refrain:

I'm goin' there to see my mother

I'm goin' there no more to roam;

I'm just a-goin' over Jordan

I'm just a-goin' over home.

I want to sing salvation's story

In concert with the blood-washed band;

I want to wear a crown of glory

When I get home to that good land.

Refrain:

I'm goin' there to see my Savior

I'm goin' there no more to roam;

I'm just a-goin' over Jordan

I'm just a-goin' over home.

I'm goin' home.

Whatsoever You Do Willard F. Jabusch

Whatsoever you do to the least of my people that you do

unto me

When I was hungry, you gave me to eat

When I was thirsty, you gave me to drink

Now enter into the home of my father

Whatsoever you do to the least of my people that you do

unto me

When I was homeless, you opened your door

When I was naked, you gave me your coat

Now enter into the home of my father

Whatsoever you do to the least of my people that you do

unto me

When I was weary, you helped me find rest

When I was anxious, you calmed all my fears

Now enter into the home of my father

Whatsoever you do to the least of my people that you do

unto me

When in a prison, you came to my cell

When on a sick-bed, you cared for my needs

Now enter into the home of my father

Whatsoever you do to the least of my people that you do

unto me

When I was laughed at, you stood by my side

When I was happy you shared in my joy

Now enter into the home of my father

Whatsoever you do to the least of my people that you do

unto me

I Am a Pilgrim The Byrds

I am a pilgrim and a stranger

Travelling through this wearisome land

I’ve got a home in that yonder city, good lord

And it’s not, not made by hand

I’ve got a mother, sister and a brother

Who have gone this way before

I am determined to go and see them, good lord

For they’re on that other shore

I’m goin’ down to the river of jordan

Just to bathe my wearisome soul

If I can just touch the hem of his garment, good lord

Then I know he’d take me home

I am a pilgrim and a stranger

Travelling through this wearisome land

I’ve got a home in that yonder city, good lord

And it’s not, not made by hand

Blessed Be Your Name Matt Redman

Blessed Be Your Name

In the land that is plentiful

Where Your streams of abundance flow

Blessed be Your name

Blessed Be Your name

When I'm found in the desert place

Though I walk through the wilderness

Blessed Be Your name

Every blessing You pour out

I'll turn back to praise

When the darkness closes in, L-rd

Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the L-rd

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the L-rd

Blessed be Your glorious name

[ Lyrics from:

Blessed be Your name

When the sun's shining down on me

When the world's 'all as it should be'

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name

On the road marked with suffering

Though there's pain in the offering

Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out

I'll turn back to praise

When the darkness closes in, L-rd

Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the L-rd

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the L-rd

Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be the name of the L-rd

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be the name of the L-rd

Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away

You give and take away

My heart will choose to say

L-rd, blessed be Your name

I'll Fly Away Albert E. Brumley

Some glad morning when this life is o'er,

I'll fly away.

To a home on G-d's celestial shore,

I'll fly away.

I'll fly away, O Glory, I'll fly away.

When I die, Hallelujah, bye and bye,

I'll fly away.

When the shadows of this life have flown,

I'll fly away.

Like a bird thrown, driven by the storm,

I'll fly away.

I'll fly away, O Glory, I'll fly away.

When I die, Hallelujah, bye and bye,

I'll fly away.

Just a few more weary days and then,

I'll fly away.

To a land where joy shall never end,

I'll fly away.

I'll fly away, O Glory,

I'll fly away.

When I die, Hallelujah, bye and bye,

I'll fly away.

Down To The River To Pray

(19th

century American gospel song.)

As I went down in the river to pray, studying about that

good old way

And who shall wear the starry crown, good L-rd, show

me the way

Oh sisters let’s go down, let’s go down, come on down

Oh sisters let’s go down, down in the river to pray

As I went down in the river to pray, studying about that

good old way

And who shall wear the robe and crown, good L-rd,

show me the way

Oh brothers let’s go down, let’s go down, come on down

Come on brothers let’s go down, down in the river to

pray

As I went down in the river to pray, studying about that

good old way

And who shall wear the starry crown, good L-rd, show

me the way

Oh fathers let’s go down, let’s go down, come on down

Oh fathers let’s go down, down in the river to pray

As I went down in the river to pray, studying about that

good old way

And who shall wear the robe and crown, good L-rd,

show me the way

Oh mothers let’s go down, come on down, don’t you

wanna go down

Come on mothers let’s go down, down in the river to

pray

Down in the river to pray, studying about that good old

way

And who shall wear the starry crown, good L-rd, show

me the way

Oh sinners let’s go down, let’s go down, come on down

Oh sinners let’s go down, down in the river to pray

As I went down in the river to pray, studying about that

good old way

And who shall wear the robe and crown, good L-rd,

show me the way

Daddy Was an Old Time Preacher Man Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner, 1970

Daddy was an old time preacher man

He preacher the word of G-d throughout the land

He preached so plain a child could understand

Yes, Daddy was an old time preacher man

He told the people of he need to pray

He talked about G-d's wrath and judgement day

He preached about the great eternity

He preached hell so hot that you could feel the heat

Yes, Daddy was an old time preacher man

Aunt Leanona would get up to testify

And we'd sing "In The Sweet By And By"

The we'd sing "I'm On My Way To Canaan Land"

Yes, Daddy was an old time preacher man

Revivals and camp meetings went for weeks

Folks came from all around to hear him preach

Daddy said if one is saved it's worth it all

But the aisles were always filled at altar calls

Yes, Daddy was an old time preacher man

Daddy worked for G-d but asked for no pay

For he believed that G-d provides a way

We never had a lot but we got by

Guess it's 'cause the L-rd was on Daddy's side

Yes, Daddy was an old time preacher man

He Sent a Carpenter Sawyer Brown

In a manger filled with hay

The Virgin Mother's baby lay

While shepherds stood trembling at the site

This child was the King of Kings

But G-d who knows and sees all things

Sent a simple man to show the world the light

Chorus

He sent a carpenter

A carpenter to build His kingdom here

A carpenter

He sent a carpenter

To build on faith not fear

The proof lay in those nail scarred hands

So every heart could understand

He sent a carpenter to

Build His kingdom here

His father's house here on earth

Was built on faith and by His works

Grew strong just like the rock it stood upon

Then G-d spoke to His only Son

And told him that his job was done

When that last nail was finally driven home

Chorus

The proof lay in those nail scarred hands

So every heart could understand

He sent a carpenter to

Build His kingdom here

He sent a carpenter to

Build His kingdom here

Farther Along (There are several contradictory claims for the authorship of this song. The words and

music are frequently attributed to W. B. Stevens, although others have attributed the words

to W. A. Fletcher.)

Tempted and tried, we’re oft made to wonder

Why it should be thus all the day long;

While there are others living about us,

Never molested, though in the wrong.

Refrain:

Farther along we’ll know more about it,

Farther along we’ll understand why;

Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine,

We’ll understand it all by and by.

Sometimes I wonder why I must suffer,

Go in the rain, the cold, and the snow,

When there are many living in comfort,

Giving no heed to all I can do.

Tempted and tried, how often we question

Why we must suffer year after year,

Being accused by those of our loved ones,

E’en though we’ve walked in G-d’s holy fear.

Often when death has taken our loved ones,

Leaving our home so lone and so drear,

Then do we wonder why others prosper,

Living so wicked year after year.

“Faithful till death,” saith our loving Master;

Short is our time to labor and wait;

Then will our toiling seem to be nothing,

When we shall pass the heavenly gate.

Soon we will see our dear, loving Savior,

Hear the last trumpet sound through the sky;

Then we will meet those gone on before us,

Then we shall know and understand why.

In the name of our G-d

Our salvation lies

He will hear from heaven

The Man Comes Around Johnny Cash

"And I heard, as it were, the noise of thunder. One of

the four beasts saying, 'Come and see.' and I saw, and

behold a white horse"

There's a man goin' 'round takin' names,

And he decides who to free and who to blame.

Everybody won't be treated all the same,

There'll be a golden ladder reachin' down.

When the man comes around.

The hairs on your arm will stand up,

At the terror in each sip and in each sup.

Will you partake of that last offered cup,

Or disappear into the potter's ground?

When the man comes around.

Hear the trumpets hear the pipers.

One hundred million angels singin'.

Multitudes are marchin' to the big kettledrum.

Voices callin', voices cryin'.

Some are born and some are dyin'.

It's alpha and omega's kingdom come,

And the whirlwind is in the thorn tree.

The virgins are all trimming their wicks,

The whirlwind is in the thorn tree.

It's hard for thee to kick against the pricks,

Till Armageddon no shalam, no shalom.

Then the father hen will call his chickens home,

The wise man will bow down before the throne.

And at his feet they'll cast their golden crowns,

When the man comes around.

Whoever is unjust let him be unjust still.

Whoever is righteous let him be righteous still.

Whoever is filthy let him be filthy still.

Listen to the words long written down,

When the man comes around.

Hear the trumpets hear the pipers.

One hundred million angels singin'.

Multitudes are marchin' to the big kettledrum.

Voices callin', voices cryin'.

Some are born and some are dyin'.

It's alpha and omega's kingdom come,

And the whirlwind is in the thorn tree.

The virgins are all trimming their wicks,

The whirlwind is in the thorn trees.

It's hard for thee to kick against the prick,

In measured hundredweight and penny pound,

When the man comes around.

"And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts.

And I looked, and behold a pale horse, and his name

that sat on him was Death, and hell followed with him."

Satan is under my feet.

Amazing Grace by John Newton

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost, but now am found;

Was blind, but now I see.

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,

And grace my fears relieved;

How precious did that grace appear

The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares,

I have already come;

‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,

And grace will lead me home.

The L-rd has promised good to me,

His word my hope secures;

He will my shield and portion be,

As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,

And mortal life shall cease,

I shall possess, within the veil,

A life of joy and peace.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,

Bright shining as the sun,

We’ve no less days to sing G-d’s praise

Than when we’d first begun.

Blessed Assurance by Fanny J. Crosby

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!

O what a foretaste of glory divine

Heir of salvation, purchase of G-d

Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood

Chorus:

This is my story, this is my song

Praising my Savior all the day long

This is my story, this is my song

Praising my Savior all the day long

Perfect submission, all is at rest

I in my Savior am happy and blest

Watching and waiting, looking above

Filled with His goodness, lost in His love

E Down at The Cross (Hymnal #493)

Down at the cross where my Savior died,

Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,

There to my heart was the blood applied;

Glory to His Name! Chorus:

Glory to His Name,

Glory to His Name:

There to my heart was the blood applied;

Glory to His Name!

I am so wondrously saved from sin,

Jesus so sweetly abides within,

There at the cross where He took me in;

Glory to His Name! (Chorus)

Oh, precious fountain that saves from sin,

I am so glad I have entered in;

There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean;

Glory to His Name! (Chorus)

Come to this fountain so rich and sweet,

Cast thy poor soul at the Savior’s feet;

Plunge in today, and be made complete;

Glory to His Name! (Chorus)

Jesus Loves Me by Anna B. Warner & William B. Bradbury

Jesus loves me! This I know, for the Bible tells me so:

Little ones to Him belong; they are weak but He is

strong.

Chorus:

Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! Loves me still, tho' I'm very weak and

ill;

That I might from sin be free, bled and died upon the

tree.

(Chorus)

Jesus loves me! He who died, heaven's gate to open

wide;

He will wash away my sin, let His little child come in.

(Chorus)

Jesus loves me! He will stay close beside me all the way;

Thou hast bled and died for me, I will henceforth live

for Thee.

Just As I Am Just As I Am

Words by Charlotte Elliot and

Henry Smart. Public Domain.

Just as I am, without one plea,

But that Thy blood was shed for me,

And that Thou bid’st me come to Thee,

O Lamb of G-d I come, I come!

Just as I am, and waiting not,

To rid my soul of one dark blot,

To Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot,

O Lamb of G-d I come, I come!

Just as I am, tho' tossed about

With many a conflict, many a doubt,

Fightings within, and fears without,

O Lamb of G-d I come, I come!

Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,

Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;

Because Thy promise I believe,

O Lamb of G-d I come, I come!

O for a Thousand Tongues by Carl G. Glaser & Charles Wesley

My tongue will speak…of Your praises all day long. Psalm 35:28

O for a thousand tongues to sing

My great Redeemer’s praise,

The glories of my G-d and King,

The triumphs of His grace.

Jesus! The name that charms our fears,

That bids our sorrows cease,

‘Tis music in the sinner’s ears,

‘Tis life and health and peace.

He breaks the power of canceled sin,

He sets the prisoner free;

His blood can make the foulest clean;

His blood availed for me.

Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb,

Your loosened tongues employ;

Ye blind, behold your Savior come;

And leap, ye lame for joy.

My gracious Master and my G-d,

Assist me to proclaim,

To spread thro’ all the earth abroad,

The honors of Thy name. Public Domain

Old Rugged Cross George Bennard

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,

The emblem of suffering and shame;

And I love that old cross where the dearest and best

For a world of lost sinners was slain.

Chorus:

So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,

Till my trophies at last I lay down;

I will cling to the old rugged cross,

And exchange it some day for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,

Has a wondrous attraction for me;

For the dear Lamb of G-d left His glory above

To bear it to dark Calvary. (Chorus)

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,

A wondrous beauty I see,

For 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,

To pardon and sanctify me. (Chorus)

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;

Its shame and reproach gladly bear;

Then He'll call me some day to my home far away,

Where His glory forever I'll share. (Chorus)

We Gather Together Dutch hymn written in 1626 by Adrianus Valerius

Translation by Theodore Baker in 1894

We gather together to ask the L-rd's blessing;

He chastens and hastens His will to make known;

The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing,

Sing praises to His name: He forgets not his own.

Beside us to guide us, our G-d with us joining,

Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine

So from the beginning the fight we were winning;

Thou, L-rd, wast at our side, All glory be thine!

We all do extol thee, thou leader triumphant,

And pray that thou still our defender wilt be.

Let thy congregation escape tribulation;

Thy name be ever praised! O L-rd, make us free!
