addressyouspecifyintheUVL.Absentanycomments,gradeswillbepostedonCRSafter

48hoursfromreceiptviaemail.

SYLLABUS:Wewillfollowtheoutlineoftheassignedtext.Alistofrelevantcaseswillbe

postedontheUVL.

RECITATION:Studentswillbecalledonforgradedrecitationateverysession.Youmay

volunteerforrecitationifyouwant.Shouldyoubecalleduponandhavenoresponse,you

willreceiveagradeof5.0.Ifyouareabsentandarecalledontorecite,youwillreceiveaprovisional 5.0 for recitation which can be removed as discussed below. Your final

recitationgradewillbethesumofyourgradesdividedbythenumberoftimesyourecited

(roundedofftothenearest0.25).Ifyouraveragerecitationgradeislowerthan3.0,itwill

beroundedoffto5.0.

ABSENCES: Universitypoliciesonabsenceswillbeapplied.Tobeexcusedforanabsence(andtoremoveaprovisional5.0forrecitationoraweeklyquiz),thestudentmustatthe

beginningoftheclasswheresheattendsforthefirsttimeaftertheabsence,presentthe

following:(a)theexcuseslipformusedbytheOCSdulysignedbytheCollegeSecretary;

and,(b)supportingdocumentstoestablishtheexcuse(medicalcertificate,etc.).Themerit

of each casewillbeconsidered. Absenceswithdocumentationwill notautomatically be

excused.
