The Owensboro Independent Board of Education will hold a publichearing in the Board Room at 450 Griffith Avenue on August 27, 2020at 4:45 p.m. to hear public comments regarding a proposed generalfund tax levy of 84.9 cents on real property and 84.9 cents on person-al property.The General Fund tax levied in fiscal year 2020 was 86.6 cents onreal property and 86.6 cents on personal property and produced rev-enue of $12,578,299.98. The proposed General Fund tax rate of 84.9cents on real property and 84.9 cents on personal property is expec-ted to produce revenue of $13,417,799.91. Of this amount,$1,484,153.58 is from new and personal property. The compensat-ing tax for 2021 is 81.3 cents on real property and 81.3 cents on per-sonal property and is expected to produce $12,848,847.26.The general areas to which revenue of $839,500 above 2020 reven-ue are to be allocated are as follows: Cost of collections, $12,592;building fund, $83,950; instruction, $572,958 and maintenance,$170,000.The General Assembly has required publication of this advertisementand information contained herein.
