In earlier days, the business focussed its attention on a wide range of footwear repairs and clothing alterations but, over time, their customers started bringing in a wide variety of hand and luggage bags for repair which resulted in a competency to work with more robust materials. During 2012 the current owner, who incidentally is also a biker, recognised that many fellow bikers were having difficulties getting their riding kit repaired correctly when something went wrong. With riding boots (superbike, touring and dirt bike) it was even more challenging to find somebody who could do quality repairs. DUBUN, as a result of many years experience doing repairs and alterations to a wide variety of apparel, were able to successfully take up the challenge and now fix all types of motorcycle riding gear. Their Menlyn Retail Park branch fre- quently does warranty repairs for some of the very well-known brands of riding apparel because of its ease of access from Johan- nesburg. The Waterglen Shopping Centre branch does most of the repairs sent via PostNet (who are also at Waterglen) for customers further afield that are unable to drive through to Pretoria. DUBUN Kolonnade Retail Park services the biking community from Rustenburg, Polokwane and the northern regions of Pretoria. Norman Siebert, the owner of DUBUN, says that with the many courier service options now available, it is possible for any biker in South Africa to have their riding gear repaired by DUBUN within a week, dependant on the courier used.
