Course contentThe International Oil & Gas Certificate is a specialist qualification for people in the oil and gas industry who are responsible for ensuring safety as part of their day to day duties.
This qualification highlights the importance of process safety management in the oil and gas industry and focuses on management systems and international standards, enabling students to effectively discharge workplace safety responsibilities both onshore and offshore.

ACT has provided NEBOSH Certificate training for over 20 years and now offers training across the UK. NEBOSH qualifications are highly regarded throughout the world; many students have attained highly respected careers as a result of completing a NEBOSH qualification.
At ACT, we provide many NEBOSH qualifications from award level to diploma. They cover a range of areas including health and safety and the environment. Specific courses also relate to particular areas such as construction, fire risks, and the oil and gas industry.
NEBOSH International Oil & Gas Certificate
The NEBOSH International Technical Certificate in Oil and Gas Operational Safety builds on the general understanding of health and safety gained from studying other certificate level awards and is designed specifically for those with safety responsibilities in the oil and gas industry.
Our classroom courses involve face-to-face teaching and provide an opportunity to discuss the topics with other students and the tutor and would suit those that enjoy interaction in a classroom environment. In particular, it has a number of features that may be helpful to those students who have not done formal study and examinations for some time.
Designed for: The NEBOSH Oil and Gas Certificate is designed as a specialist sector-specific supplement to the NEBOSH National General Certificate or NEBOSH International General Certificate and NEBOSH recommends that students must hold one of these awards or an equivalent prior to undertaking the Oil and Gas Certificate.
Outline: This highly recommended course is based on a one week study period (Unit IOG1). This very effective format ensures students retain knowledge from each element and this enables them to attain higher results. Mock assessments (written and practical) are used throughout the course and with individual feedback offered to students to aid their development.
To study the NEBOSH Oil and Gas Certificate delegates will need a good understanding of general safety issues. This can be from practical experience or from attendance on courses designed to provide this, for example the NEBOSH National General Certificate or NEBOSH International General Certificate.

Classroom taught course
AssessmentThe qualification is assessed by a single written examination (IOG1). Examinations take place in March and September. Study programmes are designed to lead towards these dates. Examinations for in-house courses can be arranged with NEBOSH on demand, for a date to suit the learning programme.
Students are awarded an overall certificate parchment upon successfully passing the exam. Students who are unsuccessful may re-sit the exam.

The publications text is directed to exam needs with practical explanations, and is structured to reflect the order, content and level of understanding required by the course syllabus.
NEBOSH International Oil & Gas Certificate
Tutorials are organised prior to each examination period and are an optional extra for all students. They provide an opportunity to revise and consolidate understanding.
The tutorials greatly assist those that need coaching in examination technique and will increase student confidence to complete the written examination, leading to higher success.
