NDT TREATMENT INTENSIVE/ PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ‘IN YOUR WORKPLACE’
5 days of Intensive NDT Treatment for Babies & Children
Functional Outcome Measurement Daily NDT Instruction for therapists
Additional 1 day NDT workshop
o This Paediatric Therapy & Workshops initiative offers five days of individual, intensive NDT treatment to address the functional goals of families & children with cerebral palsy.
o Internationally recognised NDTA™ (USA) certified Advanced Instructors / paediatric therapists, are available to treat children at home or at a venue of their choice.
o Performance of the family-selected functional goal will be recorded in video & GAS goals before and after treatment (refer to this recent article for further information on this methodology).
o Daily instruction for therapists at the facility will include an NDT theoretical component with practical NDT ‘lab experiences’. Facility therapists may observe any of the treatment sessions.
o On the sixth day, there will be an NDT workshop that will also be open to therapists from outside the participating workplace. In this workshop:
1. The functional goals / NDT treatment strategies utilised & the functional outcomes for the children involved in the Intensive will be examined in depth and related to the topic: ‘The Evidence Base of NDT?’
2. Functional ‘Carryover’ opportunities for home, school, preschool etc, as addressed with families and therapists will be summarised.
