I. New Dimension Racing
1. New Dimension Racing (NDR) is the team that organizes leagues and events for the
motorsport simulator Live for Speed. The team also has the option of entering events
that it is not administering as a racing team.
a. New Dimension Racing drivers may enter in a New Dimension Racing League or
event provided there is written permission by the Chief Race Administrator in the LFS
Forum prior to the event, and that any protest procedures involving said drivers is
dealt with using non-participant members of NDR.
2. The New Dimension Racing Team Consists of the following positions.
a.Chief Race Administrator (CRA): The incumbent CRA is charged with the task of
administering all races run by NDR. The incumbent shall also design all regulations.
Courses must be approved by the CRA. Autocross layouts may be implemented to
meet the CRAs requirements. The CRA may override permitted signups by another
NDR member. The CRA has final say in all event occurrences. Should the CRA be
unavailable for an event, the current CRA shall name his substitute in a public forum
post.

setting provisional calendars in conjunction with the CRA, and shall be the person
responsible for maintaining signups and entry lists. The COO shall be the person
tasked with leading of advertising of NDR events and leagues. Should the CRA be
unavailable for an event and not exercise the option to name a replacement, the COO
shall be the default replacement.

maintenance of the NDR website, and forum. The CIO shall be the assistant to the
COO with regards to signups and entry and promotion.

or supported event.
g.Driver: The Driver shall be one or more persons qualified to race on behalf of NDR in
racing events, regardless of their sanctioning body.
3. NDR is an invitation-only team. Invitations must be agreed to by both the Chief Race
Administrator and the Chief Operations Officer.
II. General
1. Knowledge of Rules
a. Every Racer who enters into a New Dimension Racing Event must read and
understand the New Dimension Racing Sporting Code as well as the rules and
regulations for the particular event and shall commit themselves to abide by the
rules contained therein.
2.Finality of Decisions
a. Every decision made by the organizers and race officials is final.
3.Forum Reading
a. You are obliged to read the New Dimension Racing Events forum on LFSForums,
relevant sections of the New Dimension Racing website at newdimensionracing.com
as well as any other websites that are stated as Official Sources of Information on a
regular basis so as to know what is going on with the events and the team.
4.Driver Names and Number Plates
a.You are required to use this format for your Racer Name: Car Number First Initial
Last Name (e.g. 123 J. Bloggs). Failure to use this format in Officially Timed Sessions
may result in exclusion from session. The car number must be in grey or white. Thedriver name portion may be in any color scheme chosen. Teammates in events
where a single car can be shared must keep the same color scheme between all
drivers of a single car.

b. All event officials format their names in full name, coloured red. In the event the
administrative staff is entirely New Dimension Racing, the names may stay in their
NDR Name Tag format.
c. Your Number Plate shall either contain your car number, your team tag or short
team name version, or be left empty for all Officially Timed Sessions, unless otherwise
noted in a series rule book.
5.Car Liveries
1. You must produce a car livery (skin) for each New Dimension Series or Event you
are participating in. Generally, NDR will not regulate designs in and of themselves -
drivers are free to go with what they wish. NDR may request certain items be placed
on the skins in certain ways, which are to be taken into consideration. This section of
the Sporting Code illustrates the general requirements for your skins. Individual
event or series rule books may amend or modify or forego these requirements.
a. Your skin must be uploaded onto LFSWorld, and therefore must meet the
standards of doing so. You must also post a high-resolution copy of your skin in
the appropriate thread of the forum for the event your skin is to be used for.
b. For closed-roof cars (tin-tops), the car number shall be clearly marked on the
doors, and on the roof OR bonnet of the car, to be visible from facing the left side
of the car if on the roof.
c. For open cockpit cars (formula cars), the car number shall be placed on the nose
section, oriented so as to be viewed facing the car straight on; and the numbers
shall be on both rear wing endplates.
d. For open cockpit cars without wings (MRT), the numbers that would normally be
on the endplates shall be placed on the side pods.
e. For open wheeled cars without wings (LX), the numbers that would normally be
on the roof shall be placed on the bonnet.2. New Dimension Racing may from time to time require drivers to run specific
identification badges in certain locations of the car. These badges may not be
modified in any way, for example, no color profile changes, no opacity adjustments, no
distortion of the plate. Scaling may be done for the badge to fit in the required

5/14
location, should the badge be sized incorrectly. Liveries should not cause the badge
to be obscured, or have its visibility reduced.
6.Attendance
a. If for any reason, you are unable to attend a race, please advise the Competition
Director as soon as possible.
b. If you fail to advise prior to the start of the final Free Practice session of the
weekend, or other stated deadline, you may face temporary suspension from the
series which you are participating in.
c. You must be present in the server by the start of qualifying, or the stated deadline,
whichever comes earlier, to be considered on time. Late comers will be started from
the back of the grid or pit lane, at the discretion of the race director. If you do not
show up by the time qualifying ends, you may not be permitted to enter the race, at
the discretion of the race director.
d. An event may be postponed or suspended at the administration's discretion should
less than eight (8) cars be available to run or to complete full distance. In the event
of a postponement prior to qualifying or race start, the event may be rescheduled to
run on a later date. If the event cannot be rescheduled, or the race started before
suspension, points will be awarded based on the regulations for that particular
series.
7.Driving View
a. All drivers are required to use a view which permits the use of mirrors. Drivers
found to be using follow, helicopter, or external camera views will be warned to
change to either in-car or a custom view. Failure to change, or being involved in an
incident while using follow view will result in penalty of a Stop-Go or higher penalty.
III.Event Definition
1. A New Dimension Racing Event may either be a single-day or multi-day event. An eventwill always consist of an official qualifying session or sessions, and a race session or
sessions. Officially timed free practice session(s) may also be held.
2. All activities that occur within either 10 minutes of the earliest session of the day or the
server arrival deadline for the day (should the deadline be more than 10 minutes before
the start of the first session of the day), and up until 10 minutes after the reported end

of the final session of the day (marked by Session/Race Complete, Chat Open or similar)
are logged, and actions within this time must be kept sporting and professional. All
incidents that occur during those times can affect the relevant session. All behavoiur
may result in appropriate penalties.
IV. Personal Conduct
1.Personal Behavior
a. Every person associated with a New Dimension Racing-sanctioned event shall
conduct themselves according to the highest standards of behavior and
sportsmanship, particularly in their relationship with other competitors and officials,
and in a manner that shall not be prejudicial to the reputation of New Dimension
Racing or to the sport.
2.Driving Code
a. Competitors are expected to race in a safe and considerate manner. Any
competitor who drives in a dangerous or overly aggressive manner without showing
consideration for their fellow competitors will be penalized.
V.Flags
1. Green
a. The course is clear and the session is under way.
2.Yellow
a. There has been an incident somewhere upstream of the flag. Reduce your speed
and be prepared to quickly and safely change direction. There is no overtaking in a
yellow flag area. Administration will not actively monitor for overtaking, but protests
are encouraged in these cases. Failure to heed a system yellow flag (generated by
LFS) that leads to an accident can be punished more severally than an incident in a
clear track.
3. Reda. The session has been stopped due to an incident. Use caution and proceed to pit
lane or other designated position immediately. Overtaking is forbidden. Chat in
server and in Ventrilo is prohibited at all times when RED is listed as the track
status. Individual series will set specific procedures as to how to deal with red flag
situations.

4. Blue
a. Used as a warning to a slower car that a faster car is approaching. Use caution.
Hold your line, and make no moves to impede the faster car.
5. Black and White divided diagonally
a. Competitor warning displayed with number. Used to warn driver of improper driving
conduct. Failure to improve conduct will result in a black flag.
6. Black
a. A summons to enter pit lane for consultation or penalty. Number is shown with the
flag. Racer must comply within three laps for lap-based distance races, or within 10
minutes for time-based distance races of the issuance of the flag or a penalty
escalation to next highest available level will result.
7. White
a. There is a slow vehicle ahead on course. Overtaking is permitted, but use caution for
a slow car. On ovals, this flag signals the start of the last lap of the race.
8. Checkered
a. The session is ended.
VI.Driving Conduct
1.Racing Surface
a. The racing surface shall be defined as the marked, paved race course and its
curbing only. Pit lanes, their entries and exits, run-offs, grass verges, et al are
expressly excluded from the racing surface.
b. Positions gained by leaving the racing surface shall be yielded back or a drive-thru
penalty will be assessed.
c. The area of course on the racing track area marked by the pit entry and exit blend
lines is raceable room, but all drivers legally in that area entering and exiting pitlane
will generally not be held at fault for incidents. It is the responsibility of drivers oncourse to be aware of cars rejoining from pitlane in these areas.
2. Car-to-car Contact
a. It is the responsibility of all drivers to avoid physical contact between cars.
b. All competitors have a right to racing room on the marked racing surface.
New DImension Racing Sporting Code and Charter - January 2010 Revision 7
8/14/2019 NDR Sporting Code January 2010 Revision
8/14
c. Racing Room is defined as sufficient space to allow a competitor to maintain
control of his car in close quarters under racing conditions.
VII. Overtaking - Road Circuits Only; This does NOT apply on the Oval(s)
1. Overlap
a. When overtaking a car, you must achieve any measure of overlap with the car you
are overtaking in order to have the rights for that corner.
b. Any Measure of Overlap is defined as the front of the overtaking car being level
with or beyond the rear quarter-panel of the overtaken car (for tin-tops) or rear wheel
(for single-seaters).
c. This measurement is taken at or around the normal turn-in point.
2.Conduct
a. Any Racer who causes an incident as a result of not establishing overlap, or by
turning in on a car against whom they had no right, are expected to wait for the other
car to pass them even if that action involves losing several positions.
b. Failure to follow this will result in a penalty.
3.Defending Position
a. You may move once per track segment (between two corners) to prevent an
overtaking maneuver.
b. You may return to your line after that move. You may make no further moves to
obstruct until the next track segment.
c. If a driver has attained any measure of overlap, you may consider your defensive
maneuver to have failed and must allow room for that car on the course.
VIII.Oval Racing
1.Preface
a. As racing on the oval is very fast, and requires precision and patience, this
subsection has been added.b. These shall also apply as guidelines when portions of the track are made up of an
oval course, an example being Kyoto National.
2.Conduct
a. On the Oval, it is the duty of all drivers, regardless of position, to be aware of their
surroundings and not perform any untoward actions that may cause an incident.

8/14/2019 NDR Sporting Code January 2010 Revision
9/14
b. Sudden maneuvers are to be avoided as much as possible, especially if within a
multi-car pack.
c. It is generally accepted that eighty (80) to ninety (90) percent of an oval race is
about being as fast as you can, and as efficient as you can to ensure that you stay
within distance of the victory. Only in the last ten (10) to twenty (20) percent of a
race distance should you do any defensive maneuvers, such as low-lining or draft-
breaking. Drivers are expected to work with drivers and use the slipstream to
maintain fast speed for a majority of the race.
d. All drivers are expected to keep highly alert of the course ahead, and be prepared to
slow and/or take evasive actions at any moment to attempt to avoid an incident
ahead. If possible, do not immediately jam on the brakes if you can avoid doing so.
As this rule states, you are to be alert of what is ahead and around you, and you
should be able to safely slow down or avoid. It is well known that this will not always
be possible, but you must try to do everything that YOU yourself can do to avoid an
incident.
3.Drafting/Slipstreaming
a. To be fast on the oval, you must take advantage of the slipstream.
b. Individual events and series will establish whether or not bumpdrafting is permitted.
c. New Dimension Racing will not dictate exactly how drafting is to take place. We
simply state that you follow the Conduct procedures listed above while drafting, and
that you respect any regulations regarding bumpdrafting. Penalties will not be issued
for failure to take full advantage of slipstreaming, penalties will only be issued for
incidents.
4.Defending Position
a. You may only move to defend position providing that it is safe to do so. If you are
unsure about where a car is in relation to you, it is best advised to not attempt adefensive/blocking maneuver
b. You may select any line entering, traveling through, or exiting a turn or down the
straightaway, provided you do hold your line, and only make one blocking move per
straight.

10/14
5.Overtaking
1. It is the responsibility of all drivers involved in an overtaking maneuver to avoid
incident.
2. In the event of an incident during overtaking, a penalty decision will be based off of
recent patterns through the specific corner, actions leading up to the scene, and
behaviours of both drivers. Steering inputs and forces will be taken into account.
3. New Dimension Racing will not explicitly dictate where or how an overtaking move
should be done. It is expected that drivers follow all conduct codes in this Code to
have a clean maneuver.
6. Incident Fault
1. New Dimension Racing will operate on an Anyone policy for who may be deemed at
fault. Generally, penalties will be issued for failure to follow these regulations.
2. The general rule of The Driver Behind Is at Fault will apply, but the leading driver
may also incur penalty for failure to take proper care as stated above.
7. Racing Area
1. The aprons in the turns of the Kyoto Oval are not considered racing space. This
includes the Shoulder area preceding and succeeding the pit entry and exit zones.
Penalties may be issued for using these sections to ones advantage. If necessary,
solid chalk lines will be laid down to mark boundaries.
8.Pit Lane
1. Cars entering and exiting pitlane must take care to not impede cars racing. Cars
exiting pitlane should stay as low and out of the way as they can until they are fully up
to speed.
2. Drivers still racing should take care to not cause an incident with a car properly
entering or exiting pitlane. Should the entering/exiting car be following regulations in
an incident, the car on track will be most likely to receive the penalty.3. Drivers are not to drive the wrong way on course to enter pitlane, no matter how
short the distance is. A first offence will be a warning, the second a 3-lap holding
penalty, the third will be an exclusion from the remainder of the session.

IX.Driving a Damaged Car
1. Still Drivable
a. When your car is damaged to the point that you cannot continue at your race pace
in a safe manner, put your hazard lights on, slow to a safe speed, and drive off the
racing line as far as you can get. Continue under extreme caution to the pits.
2.Not Drivable
a. When your car is damaged to the point that you cannot continue, you must make
any effort to get your car to the safest location nearby. A rescue car (if available) will
attempt to push you to a safe location or pitlane. If that is unable to happen, you will
be spectated by the Race Director when he is able to.
X.Incidents
1. Recovering From
a. The onus is entirely on the driver recovering from an incident to take all necessary
care to not interfere with any cars still on track and not part of the incident.
b. You must do everything you can to minimize the hazard your car may constitute as
soon as possible.
2.Returning to the Course
a. The onus is entirely on the driver returning to the track after an off to take all
necessary care not to interfere with any cars still on the track.
3.Ahead/Behind Responsibilities
a. The onus is on the behind driver to take all necessary care and responsibility to not
cause an incident with an ahead driver.
b. The ahead driver must not do any malicious or inappropriate braking/slowing.
XI.Protests, Penalties and Results
1. The New Dimension Racing Team shall be permitted to apply penalties in events that it
either sanctions or supports.2. Penalties are to be set in the events regulations, except when they deal with Probation
and Exclusion, with which they are to direct to the procedure in the NDR Sporting Code.
3. Each event shall have a window for protests to be submitted, not less than 24 hours
and not more than 48 hours long, starting from the time the event started, and ending
New DImension Racing Sporting Code and Charter - January 2010 Revision 11
8/14/2019 NDR Sporting Code January 2010 Revision
12/14
no sooner than 36 hours after the official replays are posted. Protests outside of this
window will not be accepted.
4. Official results will be published within 48 to 72 hours of the end of the protest window.
The window will not apply in cases where the race results must be calculated to account
for a server crash or other cases of force majeure which require extra time to ensure
accuracy of results.
5. After official results are out, there is a 36 hour period of which to appeal any decisions
and the result. Appeals must be submitted via email to
[email protected] within the period to be heard. After the end of this
period, results are certified and cannot be changed.
XII. Tie-breaking in Race Results or Championships
1. In the event of a Timing and Scoring tie, or any close finish (either timing and scoring or
visually), race administration will immediately review the replay footage to determine
position placement. The visual reference will be taken as the cars cross the leading
edge of the marked finish line. Regardless of what system Timing and Scoring says, this
visual result will constitute an official result. In the event that the competitors are also
visually tied, the result will be listed as the result that Timing and Scoring reports.
2. In the event of a Dead Heat Tie in any championship classification table, the tie will be
attempted to be broken by most number of wins. If this is not possible, the decision will
navigate down the positions until a decision can be reached. In the event that the tie
cannot be broken in this method, the tie will remain and competitors will be placed on
the same position, awarded an even split of a prize (if any) or be declared co-champions if
the tie is for first.
XIII.Probation
1. Probation is defined as a period of time defined at the time of issuance where the
person on probation is subject to extra monitoring, or more strict penalties forincidents. Probation applies to NDR sanctioned events, or events where the Race
Director is a member of NDR.
2. The probation shall be listed in the New Dimension Racing-Wide Penalties thread on
the LFS Forums, and shall include the LFSName of the user on probation, probation start
and end date, and overall duration.
New DImension Racing Sporting Code and Charter - January 2010 Revision 12
8/14/2019 NDR Sporting Code January 2010 Revision
13/14
3. Probation periods may be reduced or eliminated after observance of excellent behavior
and consensus to probation reduction by the CRA and the COO.
XIV.Exclusion
1. Exclusion is defined as a period of time defined at the time of issuance where the
person excluded is not permitted to enter NDR-sanctioned events.
2. The exclusion shall be listed in the New Dimension Racing-Wide Penalties thread on
the LFS Forums, and shall include the LFSName of the user excluded, exclusion start and
end date, and duration.
3. Exclusion may be reduced after an appeal by the excluded racer, to be considered by
the CRA, COO, and ARA. A consensus of the three must be reached to shorten or
eliminate the exclusion period. After conclusion or end of an exclusion period, there is an
automatic six-week probation period.
XV.Driver Aids / Game Modifications
1. New Dimension Racing prohibits use of hacks that modify the natural performance of
the vehicle, including memory hacks or VOB tweaks. Drivers found to be utilizing such
tools are subject to exclusion from future NDR events.
2. Competitors are not to use player hacker during official sessions.
3. NDR does not establish a general rule regarding driving aids such as Traction Control
or Anti-Lock Braking systems. These are established in the individual series rules.
XVI. Entry Fees
1. New Dimension Racing reserves the right to charge entry fees to events, to be used to
support the operations of the team. Details on Entry Fee enforcement, collection, and a
Schedule of Fees shall be made available in a document entitled Supplemental
Document I: Entry Fees
XVII. Communication and Server Usage
1. New Dimension Racing will require ability to communicate with drivers and/or teamrepresentatives. In the event that more than the in-game chat is not fully used, Ventrilo
and/or Internet Relay Chat (IRC) will be used. Location information will be made readily
available on a per-race basis.
2. New Dimension Racing will automatically have a record of In-Game and IRC chat.
Ventrilo may be recorded at any time during an event, without a notice of recording start

or stop. This shall suffice as the warning: Official Ventrilo Recordings will start no earlier
than 10 minutes before an event and end no later than 10 minutes after an event. Any
time during an event and being in Ventrilo, please assume that you are being recorded.
The majority use of this recording is simply another administrative log, but may be used
in the event of untoward actions occur from racers.
3. New Dimension Racing will offer to create a sub-channel in its Ventrilo server for use by
teams during events, free of charge. Teams may request a channel for general team
use, but may be asked to contribute a small donation as a lease to use the channel.
4. New Dimension Racing may offer its server(s) to use by other groups for their events if
needed. At least 24 hours notice is requested. A small donation may also be asked for
use of the server.
