NDENDE Project Status

• NDE Implementation Phase Initiated– Addressed all actions from NDE CDR held Sep 2007– Ingest Build begun, to be complete by May 2009– Production, Distribution, Subscription, Monitoring builds follow

• Production Build complete April 2010• NPP Launch June 2010, Cal/Val period to last 18 months• NDE Distribution Build not complete until January, 2011

– Temporary alternative being pursued to deliver data to NCEP

• IDPS Interconnectivity Tests– Acquiring NDE Hardware to support tests– Completion target – December 2008

• We have NUPs; Will there be science-enhanced products developed by the DoD partners? Will these be shared?

• Explore NPOESS data backup options between NDE and DoD central – Establish com line between a DOD IDPS and NDE/NCEP

NDESummary

• The NDE Project is committed to deliver products to NCEP as soon as they are made available– In principle, NDE could serve other OPCs

• Phase 1 NPP Products will support NWP continuity– Product Integration Team for Data Assimilation will be first

established (Streamline preparations for NCEP and JCSDA partners to apply and test procedures they are developing to assimilate NPP and NPOESS observations)
