CASE STUDY NCR – SILVER Challenge During the summer of 2012 NCR announced its plans to enter into the new and fast growing market of mobile POS solutions. NCR gave CBRE the difficult task to identify the ideal location to house the team of employees that were selected to lead the charge within the company. CBRE was also tasked with managing the design and construction of the space that would house the team responsible for NCR’s much anticipated launch of Silver, a POS system that is designed for the small to medium business owner. Speed to market was of the upmost importance as the launch was scheduled to occur at the end of June 2012. Solutions CBRE quickly identified a working team that consisted of NCR business unit leaders, CRE leaders, IT managers as well as the CBRE GCS team assigned to the NCR account. CBRE immediately set up site tours to identify a suitable location for the requirements of the Business Group. Through conducting multiple tours and analysis of project cost data and leasing stipulations CBRE was able to provide a timely recommendation for NCR leaders to evaluate and select a location. Once the selection was made CBRE project management would take the lead and implement a fast track approach to expedite the availability of the space while developing a space that would compliment the new business startup within the NCR portfolio. Results CBRE’s recommendation included the selection of a space that could easily be transformed to meet the end users requirements. Through utilizing CBRE standard RFQ’s and competitive bid solutions, CBRE was able to select a team that best met the needs of NCR in a timely and cost efficient approach. CLIENT TESTIMONIAL The space is working as designed, collaboration. At one point today I took a walk around the floor to see how folks were doing (I try and do this at least twice a day) and there were 6 different small groups collaborating about one thing or another. Well, there were 7, but the 7 th was talking about football so I can’t count that one. The team loves the space. Thanks for your effort to help make it a reality.” Christian Nahas Vice President , NCR CBRE CONTACT JESSE KELLEY Project Manager T: 404.812.5177 [email protected] QUICK FACTS Location: 4325 Alexander Drive Duluth, Ga 30022 Project type (Scope): Office Space, Lab Space Project Size: 18,849 SF Project Value: $1,255,252.00 Duration (04/09/12–9/14/12) Scope Items: New Work Stations, New Breakroom and Lounge Furniture, Signage, Vinyl Graphics, Lab Environment, Audio Visual, Kitchen Appliances, Paint and Carpet, Stained Concrete Floor, Exposed Ceiling, Suspended Wood Ceilings and LED track lighting, Linear direct/indirect lighting, Voice and Data Infrastructure
