A minimum group size of 30 students in each disaggregated group taking an exam is necessary for

a school or district to be held accountable for content

A minimum group size of 40 students is necessary for a school or district to be held accountable for participation

Participation Rates

An assessment participation rate of at least 95% is required for the buildings

and any disaggregated groups that meet the minimum size requirement.

In Summary: A School or District Makes AYP If ...

Every “disaggregated group for AYP” of sufficient size to produce statistically reliable results meets the measurable objective in both language arts and mathematics, AND

• Has an assessment participation rate of at least 95%, AND

• The school or District meets the criterion for the other academic indicator(s)
