The membership of NCL-TEC is open to any current
or past research fellow, associate, project staff or regular staff
at NCL. The Club is actively managed by current research
fellows, associates and project staff. The Club plans to
constitute an advisory board of experienced advisors, well
wishers, supporters and mentors
NCL Technology and Entrepreneurship club (NCL-TEC)
is a club driven by research fellows and associates at NCL that
aims to provide a common platform/forum for people with a
shared interest in technology and translating it into products and
services useful to people. The Club plans to focus on various
aspects of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. The
club shall plan and organize lectures, workshops and other
events for the mutual benefit of the club members.
The club is an independent, non-profit entity with full
strategic and operational freedom.

Entrepreneurship is a quality that is important for every professional to imbibe - irrespective of whether he works for himself or others. Increasingly, scientists have to take the knowledge they create in the laboratory to their stakeholders. Entrepreneurship is a means of accomplishing this task. Furthermore, we need to learn the disciplined process by which we can create wealth in our society through application of science and technology. Entrepreneurship also builds leadership, team spirit, an ability to take risks and the power of communication
7 Jan 2008: Prof David Secher, CEO of N8 and Praxis (UK) and previously with Cambridge University spoke to a full-house at the Club on commercializing technology.
10 Feb 2008: An NCL-TEC team attended E-Summit at IIT-Bombay. E-Summit is a day celebrating technology and entrepreneurship.
I do hope our research students will imbibe the true spirit of entrepreneurship and grow into useful citizens who will create and distribute wealth to all sections of our society. I wish them the very best in their endeavors. I also wish to reiterate the support of this Laboratory in pursuit of this dream.
It is indeed very gratifying that the research students of NCL have formed a Technology and Entrepreneurship Club with a view to forge a common platform for discussing all aspects of technology entrepreneurship.
