OBITUARYOn January 8, 2017, Kathy died peacefully after suffering many illnesses brought on by her lupus condition.

Kathy was born Kathleen Ann Marcellus in Easton, PA. She lived there for 13 years until her family moved to Ft. Myers, FL. During those 13 years, her passion was sledding with her cousin, Michael, with whom she was very close. They have remained close all these years.

Upon completing high school in Florida, Kathy obtained an undergrad degree in psychology and then went on to achieve two years of law school in Atlanta while serving as flight attendant for 28 years for Delta Airlines. Her travels took her around the world to exotic locations such as Paris, Rome, London and St. Thomas. She and her husband, Joe, often vacationed in many of these same spots.

At the age of 38, she and Joe took on the responsibility of raising Zoe, Joe's granddaughter. This to Kathy was a labor of love and she poured her heart and soul into the project.

Kathy was a reader, often reading 2-3 books a week. She loved to discuss her most recent book with friends and give recommendations for others. She was also a skillful and avid bridge player.

Kathy was known by all for her grace and elegance and her way of making people with whom she came into contact feel good. Despite all her illnesses and physical challenges, she remained positive and upbeat and to many who knew her, she was their hero and role model.

In lieu of flowers, Kathy’s family requests thatdonations be made to the Lupus Foundation of America.
