Mexico is a big country, the life in Mexico is difficult because is very difficult to get a job and also in Mexico is a lot of violence, Mexico is a country that have a lot of places you can visit because it’s beautiful, the people in Mexico is friendly, the food in Mexico taste very good. Canada is a big country, people in Canada are very friendly, the food is not very rich, Canada is a very clean country, green areas are very clean, which I did not like was that the meals are at an early hour compared to Mexico, also here in Welland that there is no place to go. What I did in Canada was that we went to Niagara Falls, is a really cool city that is Niagara Falls, and also has a small town called Clifton Hill, also went to Toronto, Toronto is a big city with many things to fun and to learn. What I learned in Canada was that the people are very friendly, and also they like to watch TV, that in most of the houses have basement, which are very Canadian.

From Vladyslav

My first name is Vladyslav. You can also call me Vlad. Literally my name means one who

has a fame or glory. My second name is Taranenko. I’m 16 years old. I am from Ukraine. I live in

a small city called Zolotonosha. I’m studying in high school, and I’m an excellent student. I am

interesting in English language, math, economics, I reckon, these subjects will help me in my

future life. I’ve even won several Olympiads on these subjects. I am a basketball player, I’ve

been playing basketball since my childhood. I am sociable, so I have got a lot of friends among

my schoolmates. As for me, I appreciate people's honesty, kindness, sense of justice and

intelligence. I don't like when people are rude and aggressive.

I came to Canada to improve my languages skills. In the near future I’m going to pass

English international exams, and I believe that this experience will be beneficial for my score. I

am living in a homestay. My homestay father is Mike. He is really nice man. His grandparents are

immigrants from Ukraine, so he can cook many Ukrainian traditional dishes. It was a great

surprise for me. What is more, I have two roommates. One is from Brazil, and another is from

Spain. They are awesome guys. Despite this fact that they are way older than me, we became

nice friends.

In general, I have only good impressions about Canada. Canadian people are

very nice. They always understand you, and if person needs some support or help, Canadians

are always glad to help. What about my college, it is excellent. Educational system here is very

good. I’d like to say that teachers always interact with students and make lessons more

interesting and easy to understand material. I hope that knowledge I gain there will help me in

my future life.

Moreover, I have been traveling a lot during my time here. I’ve visited Niagara

Falls. It was really unforgettable and amazing. When I firstly saw it I was stunned with its beauty.

After that, I’ve gone on the boat trip. And during this trip I really recognized all power and

beauty of waterfalls. I was completely wet after this trip. This weekend I’ve visited Toronto. It is

a city with great multistory buildings and skyscrapers. I enjoyed it so much. Despite the rain we

have visited many places of interest such as: University of Toronto, China Town, Ukrainian-Polish

district. So the trip was successful and everybody was pleased.

From Lorena My name is Lorena Dorado; I’m from

Torreon, Coah, Mexico. I’m 14 years old and I study in Mexico in a Jesuit school. I’m in second grade, high School.

Where I live is in the north of México so it’s warm and kind of deserted and not too much tourism.

I like playing soccer and hang out with my friends. In my family we’re 5, two siblings and my parents, Cesar and Lorena.

My dad works and my mom helps him. I also have a dog, its name is Rosco and is a black Labrador. I love him.

When I grow up I want to be a doctor and travel all around the world and live in Canada after I learn English. I took this c0urse to learn another kind of culture and language. Comparing to Mexico, Canada is way too calm. Also we have a lot of differences like dinner it’s at 5:00pm which in Mexico is early. I like better Mexican food because here is only fast food Canada has a lot of trees and vegetation.

It’s my first time here in Canada and I’m having so much fun, I’m only staying here for a month, too short time but I’ve learned a lot of thing I didn’t know.

I came here with my sister, and my cousins. We have traveled in our own to ST. Catharine’s, Niagara Falls, Toronto and Niagara Falls, New York. Which in México we don’t usually do that. I think we mature a lot here in Canada. We took the bus, taxi and walk.

Welland has nothing so we tried to stay far as possible and have lots of fun. People in Canada are so nice and kind. I think the best experience I had I Canada was the Maid of the Mist. We met a lot of people and become friends with them.

On Wednesday we’re going to Wonderland and I think it’ll be the best experience I will have in Canada because I want to try de bungee jumping and stuff.

Thank you.

in the evenings is going to the movies, hanging out with my friends, use my cellphone, and

watch movies.

Mехico is a country rich in nature, is a very beautiful country, and to vacation on the beaches,

the beaches are loved by everyone.

In Canada, what I learned was that it is a very industrialized country, the government

which has is very good, their taxes manage them very well.

Here are much concerned about the disability people.

The English language that the teachers teach you in Canada is very good.

I’ve done along with my cousins, we went to Niagara Falls, Toronto, St. Catherines and

Niagara Falls, NY. The city of Niagara Falls, has many things to do, is a city in which you can have

fun much.

Canada, compared to Mexico is very relaxed,

people are too friendly. I feel that in Canada and

U.S.A, the fast food is widely used. This community

does to facilitate various forms of food, easy and

simple.

From Boris! It has been one month since I’ve been here in Canada, so I would like to share

my true experience of Canadian life. Firstly, a little bit about me. My name is Boris. My parents sent me to Canada so I

can see how people live here and to study at Niagara College. Maybe Niagara College will be my future college where I will study and live. By the way, I’m from Ukraine. I live with my parents in the capital of Ukrain Kiev that’s situated on the Dnipro River. It’s a very beautiful city with a big variety of sights and chestnuts trees. I like my city very much and recommend it for everybody to visit.

I came to Canada to see something interesting and afterwards improve my English. So, I already saw a lot of interesting things and places. So I need to thank the other students that live with me. They showed me a lot of interesting places here, told me a lot of information about the college and Welland generally, so thank you guys very much.

I think I must call to memory and say something about my teachers and lessons. On Popular Culture lessons we usually study interesting things about Canada. For example, 10 symbols of Canada, some new slang words, etc. First my teacher for this subject was Steve Goode, but then he had to do some other things so we had another teacher, Rosie Perri. They both in some kind of way, taught us interesting things and I was intrigued in their subject. I almost forgot to say, at Niagara College I studied at their summer program but I didn’t have any grammar or writing classes, but anyways, I had speaking, listening and reading. I had Listening and Speaking with Steve and Reading with Kelsey Queen. Both of those lessons were interesting, but maybe sometimes difficult.

A few words about my classes. They were really interesting and funny. Firstly, I wrote an exam because they had to see my level and told me what group I belonged in. When I saw that I would study with level 5F that’s one of the highest levels, I was surprised because I don’t think that my grammar and writing is at high level like this. Maybe as a reason for that, I love to speak a lot and I’m very talkative, which is why they put me in this group. On my first days I wanted to change my group, but thank God I didn’t. Yes, the first days were difficult for me to adapt to live and study in Canadian condition, but I did it and I am very satisfied. And I think the most important part about what I must say is that almost at the end of my vacation I recognize how cool my group is. Our teacher of Speaking and Listening Steve Goode always told us that we were the coolest group in this college. And you know I understand why he says that, so again thanks fellows for this unforgettable, miracle experience. You made my lessons funnier and more interesting than I thought it would be. I will miss you!
