Introduction
The rapid urbanization and economic development at local, regional and global level has ledto several environmental and e'cological crises. Green audit can be a useful tool for a collegeto determine how and where they are using the most energy or water or resources. It can alsobe used to determine the type and volume of waste, *rrict ca, be used for a recycling projector to improve waste minimization plan. It can create health consciousness and promoteenvironmental awareness, values and ethics. It provides staff and students betterunderst8nding of Green impact on cirmpus. As environmental sustainability is becoming anincreasingly important issue for the nation, the role of educational institutions in relation toenvironmental sustainability is more prevalent. on this background it becomes essential toadopt the system of the Green campus for the institutes wiricn wiil tead for sustainabledevelopmant and at the same time reduce a sizable arnount of afrnospheric carbon-di-oxidefrom the environment.
About the Institute
NBKR Institute of Science & Technology established in 1979 is an Autonomous Instituteaffiliated to JNT university Anantapuramu. The Institute is spread across a lush green 1g4acre campus that houses academic blocks, Boys and Girls hostels, open air auditorium, sportscomplex, staffquarters etc. The entirc un built area of the institute is covered with plantation,gardening and natural vegetation which are taken care by a large team of gardeners. Theinstitute also has a nursery of its own inside the camius which grows, maintains anddistributes saplings of several species within and outside the institute in its sister concerns.
Objectivc and Scope
Green Auditing is the process of systematic identification, quantification, recording reportingand analysis of components of environmental diversity. The "Green Audit,,aims to analyzeenvironmental practices within the institute campus, which will have an impact on the eco-ftendly ambience. The main objective to carry out green audit is to check groen practicesfollowed by the institute and to conduct a well formulated audit report to understand where itstand on a scale of environmental soundness.
The scope of the report is limited to
1. To map the Geographical Location of the institute
2. To document the floral aad faunal diversity of the college.
3' To introduce and aware students to real concerns of environment and its[ustainabilityI

GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION WITH CAMPUS MAP IN SCALELand use map preparation is carried out with the aid of ground truth data collectod duringfield survey and Aerial image from Google Earth Pro. The Institute is spread across a lushgreat 184 acre campus that includes nursery, Gardens, academic blocks, Boys and Girlshostels, Open air auditorium, sports complex, staffquarters etc.

FLORA AND F'AUNA DIVERSITY OF NBKRIST
NBKRIST encompasses in an area of about 184 acre. The institute has large tracts of naturalvegetation which is being carefirlly preserved. The area is immensely diverse with a varietyof tree species some of which are planted in different periods of time over the last forty yearsthrough various plantation programmes organised by the management. The greenery of thecampus is contributing significantly to the health and quality of life of not only the institutefratemity but also the people around the institute. The bio,diversity within the campus ishelping in maintaining a healthy ecological balance. A few species of wild animals andhumans live in harmony within the campus. The natural vegetation and gr"Jerv of thecampus supports several species ofbirds and a few species of snakes. . I
