Germany reoccupies the Rhineland (river region that had belonged to them prior to the Versailles Treaty)

Rome-Berlin Axis (1936)

• Indicate on your map the alliance between Hitler and Mussolini; remember that your map must have a key

Anschluss (3/1938) and Sudetenland

Sudetenland (1938) – separated from remainder of Czechoslovakia w/ mountains; Sudetenland had similar culture as Germany and didn’t fight annexation

Hitler seizes rest of Czechoslovakia (3/1939) – the light beige area is the Sudetenland
