    OPERATING DESCRIPTION

    TECHNICAL FEATURES

The screw classifier is an ideal machine to separate water and silt and other unwanted finesfrom sand and mineral ores. It consists of a slow rotating and gently elevating spiral screw in aspecially designed tub having an inclined trough.

Feed to the classifier, consisting of solids and water mixture, comes from washing screen. Siltand unwanted micro-fines get floated and discharged over weirs. The coarser particles settleat tub bottom. The screw continuously rakes up the clean settled coarser particles. As thematerial is raked up the inclined trough, excess water is drained back into the tub. Thedewatered product is discharged at the upper end of the trough on to a conveyor belt that takesit to a storage.

The hydraulic classification barrier between micro-fines and coarser solids can be set to arequired mesh, which can be accomplished to a high degree of efficiency by varying theoverflow velocity over adjustable weirs and turbulence by spiral shaft speed.

NAWASPIRALS come in a wide range of sizes to cover varied classification requirements andspecifications, and raking capacities upto 300 TPH, for application in sand preparation andmineral beneficiation plants.

Fabricated and reinforced tank construction with heavy gauge steel

    Adjustable weirs for classification control

Heavy duty and large diameter seamless tubular shaft designed for minimum deflection

Submerged bearing assembly fitted with heavy duty dual roller bearings in a specialhousing provided with multi layer labyrinth and oil seal protection against ingress of foreignmaterial

Front end spherical & roller bearing combination assembly in a special housing providedwith oil seals against dust ingression

Ruggedly built spiral flights welded to spider arms and protected by abrasion resistant wearliner segments fastened by counter sunk head bolts; the whole assembly designed for adurable and long life

Hoisting arrangement for lifting spiral assembly on the submerged bearing side to preventclogging and for periodic inspection

Simple drive train consisting of shaft mounted gear reducer fitted on front end of spiralshaft, V-belts and electric motor

Entire drive and front end bearing assembly mounted on a pivoted base such that the spiralassembly can be raised and lowered

Electronic frequency controller for step less speed variation of spiral rotation, for setting theclassification mesh (optional).

A packaged free standing support frame of simple construction and easy installation

SEPARATE SAND & MINERAL ORES FROM SLIT AND UNWANTED FINES
