2. Welcome M o b i u m G P S Thank you for choosing Mobium GPS Navigation software

About the Mobium GPS Application The Mobium GPS application on your windows mobile phone uses GPS position determination technology and access to your carrier’s data network to provide you with driving directions and a host of other services including:

• GPS navigation that gives you turn-by-turn directions to any destination address in the continental United States and Canada. If you miss a turn or get off-track, Mobium GPS will calculate a new route for you. You can enter a destination address by typing on the phone’s keypad.

• A Directory feature that allows you to find businesses or points of interest near

your current location, near an airport, near a waypoint, or near any other entered address. You can easily call the business that you have found to check on the availability of an item or to make a reservation. You can navigate to the business location now or save the address for later use.

• Maps of the area around your current location, around an address that you had

previously entered. You can pan the map (adjust left, right, up, or down) and zoom in or out.

Troubleshooting Some Phone settings such as screen timeouts, automatic call answering with hand free kits, and power management cannot be changed using the application. Refer to your phone’s owners manual for information about changing these settings.

Safety and Legal Notices Please read this section carefully before using Mobium GPS Geomicro, Inc. will not accept any responsibility whatsoever for accidents resulting from failure to observe common sense precautions. Your personal judgment, traffic regulations, and common sense must always take precedence over any driving direction produced by Mobium GPS. WARNING: Keep your eyes on the road. It is your responsibility as the vehicle operator to keep your eyes on the road and be an alert driver at all times, ESPECIALLY when the vehicle is moving. The vehicle operator should not be distracted by the application displays, by audible cues, or by manually interacting with the controls. When you need to enter data on your phone using the keypad or study the display, only do so while the vehicle is parked, not while the vehicle is in motion. Turn off your phone if your ability to drive responsibly is decreased by using the Mobium GPS application. WARNING: Install the equipment safely. If you are using a phone mounting kit, make sure that it does not obscure your vision. You may wish to charge the phone while using Mobium GPS. If so, make sure that the charging cable does not interfere with any of the vehicle’s controls. WARNING: Drive safely and use common sense. The vehicle operator’s personal judgment, traffic regulations, and common sense must always take precedence over the instructions provided by Geomicro, Inc. It is your responsibility as the vehicle operator to drive safely, observe all traffic rules, and use your own personal judgment while driving. If you feel that a route suggested by the navigation software instructs you to perform an unsafe or illegal maneuver, places you in an unsafe situation, or routes you into an area which you consider to be unsafe, do not follow the navigation instructions

4. Data Service Requirements The Mobium GPS application that you install on your phone requires a data connection through your wireless provider’s data network. The Mobium GPS application communicates with the Mobium GPS servers to get routing, maps, and points of interest via your wireless provider’s data network. If you do not already have a data plan, you must order one from your wireless provider before using the Mobium GPS application.

5. Launching the Mobium GPS Navigation Application

Tap on the “start” button and now you can see the Mobium icon

The application will launch - when prompted, always allow any requested network or Bluetooth connections

Each time Mobium is launch, you must read and accept the “WARNING” message in order to proceed.

The first time you launch Mobium GPS Navigation, you will be asked to input the phone number and email address. Allow 2-5 minutes for the application to download files for the first time and to scan the ports to detect a GPS receiver and acquire satellite GPS signals.

Acquiring GPS Signals Before you can navigate to a destination, the GPS receiver must acquire GPS satellite signals. There are 3 different kinds of receivers that could be used depending on the device and your wireless provider:

1. Internal GPS receiver 2. Bluetooth GPS receiver 3. I/O GPS receiver

Paring Bluetooth GPS Receiver with Windows Mobile

If you are using a Bluetooth GPS receiver, it must be paired with your device before using with Mobium. Please reference the following instructions on paring a Bluetooth GPS receiver with your Windows Mobile device:

1. Tap the Windows Start button. 2. Tap Settings to access the settings

for the device.

3. The Connections tab. 4. Tap the Bluetooth icon.

5. Tap the Mode tab. 6. Tap Turn on Bluetooth. This will enable

the Bluetooth radio on your device.

7. Power on Bluetooth GPS receiver. 9. Device searches for all Bluetooth devices. 8. Tap Add new device to search for all

within range of the mobile device.

10. A list of found devices is displayed. 11. Tap to select the Bluetooth GPS receiver.

(Example BT-TPS-371EE1) Tap Next to continue.

11. Enter the Passcode for the Bluetooth 12. Once the Windows Mobile device is

GPS receiver. (Example 0000). connected with the GPS receiver, tap Tap Next to continue. Advanced to set an Outgoing port for the Bluetooth GPS receiver.

Once your receiver is turned on and connected to your device, follow the steps below for Mobium to interact with the GPS receiver and acquire a GPS signal.

1. Launch the Mobium GPS Application 2. Go to open area, out of parking garages, and away from tall buildings. Acquiring satellite signals may take a few minutes. The word GPS in the upper-left corner indicate that the status of GPS signal.

Steady Green: GPS receiver has lock and is reporting heading.

Flashing Green: GPS receiver has lock but is not reporting heading.

Steady Yellow: Your GPS receiver Acquired satellite signals.

Flashing Yellow: While your GPS receiver acquiring satellite signals.

Flashing Red: Navigation is on but GPS is not ready.

Steady Grey: No GPS receiver found.

If the GPS is a Steady Green, Congratulations Mobium is ready to navigate you to your destination. If the GPS is flashing red and your GPS Receiver is pairing with your Smartphone/Pocket PC in your System Bluetooth Settings please refer to the following steps

If a GPS Receiver is found please, allow few minutes for your GPS receiver to acquire satellite GPS signals.

Go back to Mobium GPS application and check the status at the top left corner if it’s a solid Green then congratulations your Mobium GPS is ready to navigate you to your destination.

6. Mobium GPS Menu Overview The Mobium GPS Main Page.

In the main page there are two Softkey keys Search & Menu Search? - find addresses, Points of Interest (Restaurant, Hotels, and Attractions), intersection, and a variety of other locations. See page 42 for information on finding destinations. Menu: This is the main menu of Mobium GPS Software Main Menu This section gives you an overview of the Mobium GPS menus.

Navigation Click the select button on the device to expose the menu and choose from the following options:

Display the last route.created.

Drive To Location

You can select a variety of ways to get driving directions to a destination. The Drive to Location Menu provides several categories and sub-categories to help you find destinations. You can enter address, look up locations you recently found, and view locations you have saved in Favorites or Last Route destination

The Drive To Menu options are:

• Current Point of Interest • Favorites • Contacts • History • Address • Last Route destination • Latitude/Longitude

Follow Me

You can track your moving location, current speed, distance to a target point and more.

To stop any type of navigation you have.

Get Direction

Depending on your location, you can get directions from one location to another. To do this, tap on Get directions, enter a starting and ending location and tap on Get Directions.

Navigation Options

• Fastest Route The fastest route is a route picked that will likely get you there in the least amount of time.

• Shortest Route This route may or may not take more time to drive but it shows you the shortest distance. The shortest route is the one with the least distance traveled.

• Avoiding Highways To create a set of directions that do not use major highways.

• Avoiding Toll Roads Using this routing style should keep you from going through toll booths where you have to hand over cash and coin to pass.

• Automatic resume Resumes Navigation after being interrupted by the user.

• Automatic reroute Recalculates a route when the position drifts too far off the route as when the driver misses a turn.

• Keep backlight on while navigating Keeps your device backlight on while navigating. It is recommended that your device be connected to an external power source when selecting this option.

My Places Click the trackball to expose the menu and choose from the following options:

Add To Favorites

To add your location to your favorites for your future need. Select the Menu>My Places> Add to Favorites

Name this favorite place to add to the list and select a category to organize your list.

To create a new category select <New..>

Enter a new Category Name then tap on the softkey Done to save.

Show Favorites You can also edit delete or rename your Favorites.

Select the Menu>My Places> Show Favorites Click the trackball a list of all your Favorites will be listed: select one of your Favorite tap on the softkey Menu to expose the menu and choose from the following options

Map : Displays the location on the map Make Top Favorite: Set your most frequently used Favorites as a Top Favorite for easy access. Move/Rename: You can Rename your favorite and you can move from one category to another. Delete: Deletes the selected favorite from the list. Delete All : Delete all locations stored in favorites

Edit Category: All the categories will be listed so you can select any one to rename, delete the category, or create a new category, when you are done editing select Done and click on the trackball to save.

Show History Displays Recently Found Places. You can access the history list from the Menu>My Places> Show History Click the trackball a display a list of all Recent Places. Select one of your recent location then tap on the Softkey Menu to expose the menu and choose from the following options

Map: A map of your Recent Place appears. After your map appears, Click the trackball to expose

the menu, you can choose to Zoom In, Zoom Out, Drive To (for driving directions). Show Details: Displays the itemized details of a search or route. Add to Favorites: You can save a Recent Place from History to your Favorites list (the location

stays in your History list) Delete Item: You can also delete a Recent Place from your History list if you do not want to

display it any longer. Delete All Items: You can also delete all Recent Places from your History list actually is clearing

your history list

To get map of any location Select the Menu>Get Map Of

You can view a map of: your top favorite, last route destination, favorites, contacts, history, address, or latitude/longitude. Select where to view the map from and tap softkey Next.

Options You can set the following personal preferences in the More >Option menu. tap on the softkey Menu to expose the menu and choose from the options available. After you select your new preference, select More>Option>Done to save your preference.

• Mobium Cache Set the size of the Mobium Cache to be stored on the device.

• Mobium Cache Location Choose the location where to store the Mobium Cache. It is recommended to store the cache on a removable storage card if available.

• Use voice prompts for navigation Enable/Disable turn by turn voice prompts while navigating.

• Voice Volume Adjust the volume of the voice for turn by turn navigation. Choose from one of the preset volume levels.

• Device has unlimited data plan Select this if the device has an unlimited data plan from your wireless carrier. This will increase the performance of Mobium.

• Clear Mobium Cache Clear all the maps and other data that have been downloaded and stored on the device.

• Synchronize with Server Connect with the Mobium GPS server to update data.

• Phone signal strength Displays the phone’s signal strength based on the number of bars the device is showing.

• Minimum signal strength This feature is used for GPS tracking. For more information on GPS tracking, please see the Mobium GPS Enterprise Guide.

• Bluetooth Mode Use Mobium GPS to enable the Bluetooth Radio on the device. Choose between: On while Mobium is running, Turn on when Mobium starts, Do not turn on automatically, or never interact with Bluetooth.

• On exit turn off Bluetooth Use Mobium GPS to disable the Bluetooth Radio. You can choose to disable it if Mobium Enabled it, Always, or Never.

• Show Top Favorites in Search Wizard If you have marked locations as top favorites, select this feature to have them included in the search wizard for easy access. For information about Top Favorites, please see Page 20.

• Show the map while navigating Choose whether or not to display the map while in navigation mode. If disabled, only the upcoming turns will display.

• Units Choose Between US and Metric Units.

• Zoom Select a preset zoom effect when zooming in or out.

• Position Cursor Choose a position cursor shape to display while navigating or in follow me mode. Please refer to the different cursors below.

• GPS Intermediate Driver This check box enables or disables GPS intermediate driver using the “GPS program port” specified in the dropdown list. GPS intermediate driver allows multiple “programs” to access GPS directly. Please consult your phone’s manual to see if GPS intermediate driver is supported.

• Always include GPSID port in scan When “Always include GPSID port in scan” is checked, Mobium uses the intermediate driver using the “GPS program port” specified above.

• GPS Performance Adjust the performance of the GPS receiver’s signal. This can shorten the time it takes for Mobium to acquire the GPS signal from the receiver.

• Use GPS to set the device date/time Use the GPS receiver to set the date/time on the device based on the information from the GPS satellites.

7. Get Direction and Planning a Route There are three ways to get driving directions to a desired location and creating a route.

1- Drive To Select Drive To Option from the Navigation Main Menu Menu>Navigation>Drive To Location. Then select one of the seven Drive To menu options shown below.

Favorites You can save places in my favorites so you can quickly find them and create routes to them. Your Favorites list can grow to an unlimited length and it can be organized in different categories you named. If your Favorites list gets very large, select one list and then enter one or more alphanumeric characters. The page will automatically refresh to show selected addresses that contain the entered characters. In the My Favorites screen, choose your desired location.

Contacts You can select a contact from the Windows Mobile default contact list.

History Mobium GPS keep track of the last locations you have recently found so you can find them again quickly. In the History screen, choose your desired location. To delete or rename see Page 21

Address Enter a street address by typing in the appropriate fields. You can get directions, view a map of the address, or save the address to your Favorites list. The address is automatically saved to your History list.

3. Mobium GPS checks to see if the address that you entered can be found. If the street number cannot be found for some reason, or misspelling the address. A list of the closest match to your address will be listed in the Exact match not found screen. Select your address then tap on the Softkey next

Last Route Destination This is the last route created to reach your destination Latitude/Longitude Any location on Earth is described by two numbers--its latitude and its longitude if you know the latitude and longitude of your destination enter them on the latitude and longitude screen and by tapping the Lookup button you can resolve its address.

2 - Point of Interest. Use the Search option on the Mobium GPS Navigation to search for a Point of Interest. Then Drive To that location

Select a category and a sub-category, if necessary. or search by name for more detail how search POI see page 25 Once you select your POI tap on the Drive button to be navigated to the location.

3 – Get Map Of Select Get Map of location from the Mobium GPS Navigation Main Menu and choose a location. When the map is displayed, press the Drive button to have a route created to the location.

Tap on Next to choose a route option to create a route to your selected location. For more about route options please see Navigation option page 16

8. Point Of Interest Directory The Point of interest Directory provides you with a few different ways to find the addresses and phone numbers of businesses such as restaurants, hotels, and gas stations, as well as other places like schools, government offices, and police and fire stations Once you find what you are looking for, you can get audible and visual driving or walking directions, view a map of the location, or save the location to your Favorites list. You can also place a call to the selected business.

To use the POI feature, do the following steps:

1. From the Mobium GPS main page tap on the softkey Search

Due to the size of the point of interest database you have to select a place to conduct your search. You can choose from Current GPS Position, Favorites, Recent Places, Address, Intersection, Airport, or Address Book.

2. You have the following search options:

• Tap on the Search by name and enter a search keyword.

• Search All Categories to search for the keyword in the entire directory.

• Search Within Category to access the POI Directory tree and manually narrow down your search.

Search All Categories To search all category you have to be in the root of the directory select search by name Then click the trackball , Enter all or part of a business name in the Enter name field. Then tap on the Softkey Done. You can ad this to your search list by tap on the Add to search list checkbox

Tap on the softkey Done other screen will be presented and you have the option to change the expanded area search. In the Search Filter you can change or modify your search before you proceed. Tap Do Search to conduct your search.

Search within Category

In the Search within Category, you can narrow down your search by selecting from the appropriate category. Click the trackball to expand a category and Softkey back to collapse it. After selecting the category click the trackball choose Search Options Screen will be exposed select expanded area search from the initial reference point then tap on the Softkey Do Search.

Search Menu options are:

Search by name Motor Vehicle Food & Dining Travel & Transportation Shopping Recreation & attractions Services Government & Public Lowest Gas Prices

If the search succeeds, you will be presented with a list of businesses that are near the search point, or within the search area you specified. If the search fails, a pop-up will be presented showing that nothing was found, and you have the option of accepting an expanded area search. Searches do not expand beyond 100 miles from the initial reference point.

After you choose a category, a list of nearby results will be displayed in order of closest distance. Make a selection from the list.

1. The Results screen appears with details about your selection. The screen shows:

a) The location of the business in a map b) The name of the business c) The street address d) The drive button e) The call button

Tap the to display the telephone number and distance from your search origin. Use the up and down navigation buttons to scroll through all results on the map.

Click the trackball to expose the menu and choose from the following options:

• Zoom To – you can zoom specifically to : Global, Nation, Region, State, County, Metro, City, Block, Street

• Zoom In Zoom Out - To view a map of the area surrounding the business address.

• Drive To Point – Get driving directions see page(19) • Instant Route – Set a location on the map as a start

and another as the end. Mobium will quickly display the route between the two locations.

• Get –Obtain the address of a business on the map and its Latitude/Longitude

• Properties – Get detailed information about the graphic icons displayed on the map (coming soon).

• Clear Map – Clear the location of the business found on the map

Search for Lowest Gas Price You can search for the lowest gas prices around your current location or another location that you specify. Tap on the Softkey search and pick up your point of origin then from the POI Directory Highlight Lowest Gas Price and click the trackball a list of different fuel grades will be listed highlight your selection, then click the trackball again, a list of all gas station will be listed within the expanded area you have been selected

Regular Medium Diesel E85 Now you can use your Mobium GPS windows mobile Smartphone to find a nearby gas station that offers E85 in its pumps.

After you select a location, the Search Results screen displays a list of gas station sorted by price. You can sort the list by name, distance from point of origin, price, or price and distance. .

9. Navigation Screen

The Navigation Screen After you find a location and creating a route to it the entire route from your starting location to your destination is drawn on a map. The route is displayed as a blue line connecting the

Start and Finish flags.

Showing the upcoming turn and direction.

Flashing between the distance to destination and the estimated arrival time.

The distance to reach the upcoming turn or final destination.

It shows your upcoming turn if it’s a turn to left or a turn to right or if your system rerouting in case of missing a turn or changing direction.

When approaching an upcoming turn or destination, a large icon will display on the map. This will inform you of the direction of the turn or approaching your final destination. To Browse your map click the trackball to expose the menu and choose to zoom in or zoom out or you can use the following shortcuts

Zoom To: To help you zoom fast to the desired position Mobium gps prepared for you a preselected zoom (Global, Nation, Region, State, County, Metro, City, Block, and Street.)

Viewing the Route Details To view a list of all turns in your route, select Menu>Navigation>Show Details

10. Miss a Turn? If you realize you have missed a turn or have otherwise gotten off the route, just continue driving. Mobium GPS Navigation detects your current location and recalculates a new set of driving directions to get you back on track.

11. Try and Subscribe Mobium GPS comes with a free 30 day trial. After the trial period, you have an option to purchase a monthly, quarterly, or yearly subscription.

1 - Try To try Mobium GPS simply download and install the application to your device. After installation an account will need to be created the first time you use Mobium GPS. To create an account, simply launch Mobium and follow these steps:

1. When installing Mobium for the first time or activating on a new device, you must activate the device. Press the softkey Next to begin.

2. Enter in your full name, a valid email address, and select new account if you do not have an account. Press the softkey Next when all information has been entered.

3. Create a password for your Mobium account. Press the softkey Next when completed.

4. If you are evaluating Mobium and have not purchased a subscription, select Evaluate Mobium. Press the softkey Next to continue.

5. Accept the terms and conditions of Mobium GPS. Check the box next to I Agree and select next to accept the terms and conditions.

2 - Subscribe To subscribe to Mobium GPS you will need to purchase a subscription package. When a subscription is purchased, you will receive an email with a 16 character token key in the format of xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. This is needed in order to validate your subscription. To activate your subscription, follow these steps:

1. Press the softkey Menu>Subscribe to Mobium

2. Enter in your Activation Token if you have one. Otherwise, leave the leave the field blank and press the Subscribe button. This will launch Internet Explorer on your device with where an Activation Token can be purchased. When one has been purchased, simply repeat the steps to activate your Mobium GPS subscription.

GPS does not work?

1) Check the COM ports under More>Options>GPS Setup to ensure the appropriate COM port for the GPS receiver is selected. If the COM port is not known uncheck the box to scan only the selected COM ports. This enables Mobium GPS to scan all COM ports for the GPS receiver.

2) If using a Bluetooth GPS receiver, confirm it is powered on and connected to the device’s Bluetooth interface. (Please reference your device documentation on connecting Bluetooth device’s)

What type of Data Plan do I need?

It is recommended to have an unlimited data plan through your wireless provider. This will prevent over usage charges while from using Mobium GPS.

How often are the maps and POI’s updated?

Maps and POI’s are updated on every quarter for those subscribed to Mobium GPS service.
