Using the CrownThe watch’s crown is a screw-in (screw lock)type. To use the crown, you first need to rotateit towards you (leftwards) to loosen it.

● Fast Forward/Fast ReverseAfter pulling out the crown, rotating it quicklyin succession in either direction will cause thehands to move forward or back at high speed.While the hands are moving forward at highspeed, quickly rotating the crown insuccession again will increase the speed evenfurther.

● Stopping Fast Forward/Fast ReverseRotate the crown in the direction opposite thatof the ongoing operation or press any button.

Note

● If you do not perform any operationfor about two minutes after pullingout the crown, crown operations willautomatically become disabled. Ifthat happens, push the crown backin and then pull it out again.

● Mode Hand and Day IndicatorMovement

Changing the day setting of the watch will alsocause the mode hand to move.

● Day● It can take anywhere from about 15 to 30

seconds for the day indicator to change aftertimekeeping reaches midnight. The modehand moves as the day indicator changes.

● The day indicator will not change while atime measurement operation is in progressin the Stopwatch Mode.

Solar ChargingThis watch runs on power supplied from arechargeable (secondary) battery that ischarged by a solar panel. The solar panel isintegrated into the face of the watch, andpower is generated whenever the face isexposed to light.● Charging the WatchWhen you are not wearing the watch, put it ina location where it is exposed to bright light.

While you are wearing the watch, make surethat its face (solar panel) is not blocked fromthe light by the sleeve of your clothing. Powergeneration efficiency is reduced even whenthe face of the watch is blocked only partially.

Important!

● Depending on light intensity andlocal conditions, the watch maybecome hot to the touch whenexposed to light for charging. Takecare to avoid burn injury aftercharging. Also, avoid charging thewatch under high-temperatureconditions like the ones describedbelow.

● Remaining Charge and Dead BatteryYou can determine if the charge level is low bychecking the hand movement. Functionsbecome disabled as battery power goes low.

● Should battery go low or go dead,expose the face (solar panel) to lightas soon as possible.

● Exposing the watch face to light afterthe battery goes dead will cause thesecond hand to revolvecounterclockwise until it stops atsecond 57. This indicates charginghas started.

● Power SavingLeaving the watch in a dark location for aboutone hour between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6a.m. will cause the second hand to stop, andthe watch to enter Level 1 power saving. If thewatch is left in this condition for six or sevendays, all hands will stop at 12 o’clock and thewatch will enter Level 2 power saving.Level 1 :Second hand stops to save power.Level 2 :The following operations are stopped to savepower: all hand movement (excluding the dayindicator), Bluetooth connection, and alarmalerts.Recovering from Power Saving OperationPress any button or place the watch in a well-lit area to recover from power saving.

Using Mobile Link witha Mobile Phone

While there is a Bluetooth connectionbetween the watch and phone, the watch timesetting is adjusted automatically inaccordance with the phone’s time setting. Youcan also change the watch’s settings.

B Configuring Bluetooth SettingsEnable the phone’s Bluetooth.

● For details about settingprocedures, see your phonedocumentation.

C Pairing the watch with a phoneBefore you can use the watch in combinationwith a phone, you first need to pair them.

1. Move the phone to be paired with close to(within one meter of) the watch.

2. Y On the Home Screen, tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.

3. Y Perform the operation shown on thescreen of the phone to be paired with.

● If a pairing prompt message appears,perform the operation shown on thephone screen.

● When pairing starts, the second handwill move to 12 o’clock. When pairing iscomplete, the second hand will move to“C”.

Auto Time AdjustmentThe watch can be set to adjust its time settingautomatically each day in accordance with thephone time.

● Using Auto AdjustYour watch adjusts its time setting four timesa day according to a preset schedule. If youleave your watch in the Calendar Mode, it willperform the adjustment operationautomatically as you go about your daily life,without any operation required by you.

Alignment● If there is a World Time City specified

with G-SHOCK Connected, its timewill also be synchronizedautomatically.

● The watch will connect with thephone and perform auto timeadjustment at around 12:30 a.m.,6:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.The connection is automaticallyterminated after auto timeadjustment is complete.

● Summer TimeOnce the watch is connected with a phone andits time is adjusted with the phone time, itsHome City time and World Time willautomatically switch between standard timeand summer time as required, even if thewatch is no longer connected with the phone.l Summer Time Switching● Adjusting the time setting manually with a

watch operation will cancel auto standardtime/summer time switching.

● A G-SHOCK Connected screen showsinformation about summer time periods.

● Triggering Immediate Time AdjustmentThe watch will synchronize its time setting tothat of the phone immediately when they areconnected with each other. Whenever youwant to adjust the watch’s time setting basedon your phone's time, perform the procedurebelow to connect with a phone.

1. X Press (C).This causes the second hand to move to“R”. When the watch connects with aphone, the second hand will normallymove to “C” and then the watch’s timesetting will synchronize with the phone’stime.● The watch will disconnect from the

phone automatically after timesynchronization is complete.

Configuring World TimeSettings

Specifying a World Time City with G-SHOCKConnected causes the city’s time to beindicated by the small hour and minute hands.Watch settings can be configured for autosummer time switching for the World TimeCity.

1. Y On the Home Screen, tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.

2. X Hold down the (C) button for about 2seconds.

● The second hand will move to “R”. Keep(C) depressed until the second handstarts moving again and then stops at“R”.

● The second hand will move from “R” to“C” when a connection is establishedbetween the watch and phone.

3. Y Perform the operation shown on thephone screen. The World Time setting willbe reflected on the watch.The dial hour and minute hands, and thesmall 24-hour hand indicate the currenttime in the selected city and time zone.● You can determine whether a World

Time is a.m. or p.m. by checking theposition of the small 24-hour hand.

● When “Auto” is selected forstandard/summer time switching,the watch will switch betweenstandard time and summer timeautomatically. You do not need tochange the time setting manually forchanges between summer time andstandard time. Even if you are in anarea that does not observe summertime, you can leave the watch’ssummertime setting as “Auto”.

● Changing the time setting manuallywith a watch operation will cancelauto standard time/summer timeswitching.

● A G-SHOCK Connected screenshows information about summertime periods.

Adjusting Hand and DayIndicator Alignment

If the hands and/or date indicator are out ofalignment even though auto time adjustmentis being performed, use G-SHOCKConnected to adjust them.

1. Y On the Home Screen, tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.

2. X Hold down the (C) button for about 2seconds.

● The second hand will move to “R”. Keep(C) depressed until the second handstarts moving again and then stops at“R”.

● The second hand will move from “R” to“C” when a connection is establishedbetween the watch and phone.

3. Y Perform the operation shown on thephone screen to correct hand and dayindicator alignment.

Phone FinderYou can use phone finder to trigger a tone onthe phone to make it easy to find. The tone isforced to sound even if the phone is in themanner mode.

Important!

● Do not use this function in areaswhere phone call tones arerestricted.

● The tone sounds at a high volume.Do not use this function whenlistening to phone output overearphones.

1. X If the watch is connected with a phone,press any button to terminate theconnection.

2. X Hold down the (A) button for about 2seconds.This will cause the watch to enter theCalendar Mode.

3. X Hold down the (D) button for about 1.5seconds until the second hand points to“R”.The second hand will move to “C” when aconnection is established between thewatch and phone, and then the phone’sringtone will sound.● It will take a few seconds before the

phone tone sounds.

4. X Press any button to stop the tone.● You can press any watch button to stop

the phone tone only during the first 30seconds after it starts to sound.

Configuring Watch SettingsYou can use G-SHOCK Connected to specifythe amount of time until a Bluetoothconnection is automatically terminated, toenable or disable the watch operation tone,and to configure other settings.

1. Y On the Home Screen, tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.

2. X Hold down the (C) button for about 2seconds.

● The second hand will move to “R”. Keep(C) depressed until the second handstarts moving again and then stops at“R”.

● The second hand will move from “R” to“C” when a connection is establishedbetween the watch and phone.

3. Y Select the setting you want to changeand then perform the operation shown onthe phone screen.

Returning the Watch to ItsFactory Default Settings

Using G-SHOCK Connected to reset thewatch returns to the settings below.● Stopwatch elapsed time: 0 hours, 0

minutes, 0 seconds● Countdown Timer time: 0 hours, 10 minutes● Alarm

— Alarm time: 12:00 midnight— Alarm setting: Off

● Mute setting: Off● Connection time: 3 minutes● Auto adjust: Off

1. X Pull out the crown to the second click.2. X Hold down (C) for about 5 seconds.

Resetting watch settings causes thesecond hand to move to 12 o’clock.

Changing the Home CitySummer Time Setting

Checking the Watch ChargeLevel

Use the procedure below to check the currentcharge level with G-SHOCK Connected.

1. Y On the Home Screen, tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.

2. X Hold down the (C) button for about 2seconds.

● The second hand will move to “R”. Keep(C) depressed until the second handstarts moving again and then stops at“R”.

● The second hand will move from “R” to“C” when a connection is establishedbetween the watch and phone.

3. Y Use G-SHOCK Connected to check thecharge level.

Connection

Connecting with a PhoneThis section explains how to establish aBluetooth connection between a phone that ispaired with the watch.● If the watch is not paired with the phone you

want to connect with, perform the procedureunder “C Pairing the watch with a phone” topair them.

1. Move the phone close to (within one meterof) the watch.

2. X While the second hand is not pointing to“C”, hold down the (C) button for about 2seconds.

● The second hand will move to “R”. Keep(C) depressed until the second handstarts moving again and then stops at“R”.

● The second hand will move from “R” to“C” when a connection is establishedbetween the watch and phone.

Important!

● The watch cannot connect with aphone while a stopwatch timemeasurement or timer countdownoperation is in progress.

● If you have problems establishing aconnection, it could mean that G-SHOCK Connected is not runningon the phone. On the phone’s homescreen, tap the “G-SHOCKConnected” icon. After the app startsup, hold down the watch’s (C) buttonfor about 2 seconds.

Note

● The connection will be terminated ifyou do not perform any operation onthe watch or phone for a fixedamount of time.To specify the connection limit time,perform the following operation withG-SHOCK Connected: “Watchsettings”n“Connection time”. Next,select a setting of 3 minutes, 5minutes, or 10 minutes.

Canceling a Connection with aPhone

Using the Watch in a Medical Facilityor Aircraft

Whenever you are in a hospital, on an aircraft,or in any other location where auto signalreceive or connection with a phone may causeproblems, you can perform the procedurebelow to disable it. To re-enable auto timeadjustment, perform the same operationagain.

1. Y On the Home Screen, tap the “G-SHOCK Connected” icon.

2. X Hold down the (C) button for about 2seconds.

● The second hand will move to “R”. Keep(C) depressed until the second handstarts moving again and then stops at“R”.

● The second hand will move from “R” to“C” when a connection is establishedbetween the watch and phone.

3. Y Perform the operation shown on thephone screen to enable or disable autotime adjustment.

Is auto time adjustment not beingperformed according to its normalschedule?

Note that auto time adjustment is notperformed for 24 hours after swapping ofthe Home Time and World Time, or afterthe time setting is adjusted manually onthe watch. Auto time adjustment willresume 24 hours after either of the aboveoperations is performed.

Crown Operations

Q1 Nothing happens when I rotate thecrown.

If you do not perform any operation for abouttwo minutes after pulling out the crown(approximately 30 minutes in the case of handand day indicator alignment), crownoperations will automatically becomedisabled. Push the crown back in to its normalposition and then pull it out again to re-enablecrown operations.l Using the Crown

Q2 Crown operation does not work.Crown operation is disabled while high-speedhand movement is in progress after a watchsetting is changed, etc. Wait until the handsstop moving before performing crownoperations.

Charging

Q1 The watch does not work eventhough it is exposed to light.

The watch stops operating whenever thebattery goes dead. Keep the watch exposedto light until it recharges sufficiently.l Solar Charging
