HIB – Harassment / Intimidation / Bullying "Harassment, intimidation or bullying" means any gesture, any written, verbal or

physical act, or any electronic communication, whether it be a single incident or a series of incidents, that is reasonably perceived as being motivated either by any actual or perceived characteristic…” (NJSA 18A:37-14, NJSA 18A:37-15(b)(2) and NJSA 18A:37-15.3)

Emergency Management “Every school must hold 1 fire drill and one school security drill each month during

school hours including summer months when students are present…” (NJ STATUTE 18A:41 – 1) Drill Types: Lockdown / Evacuation / Bomb Threat / Active Shooter

Arrival / Dismissal Stop and Drop for arrival K-3 on the side of the building 4-5 at the front of the building NO CHANGES TO DISMISSAL PROCEDURES WITHOUT WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION SENT

DISSMISSAL REMINDERS:

K – 3 Students will be dismissed at the back of the building by the teachers

4 – 5 Students will be dismissed out the front doors of the building

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR BUS PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

If your child’s bus is not at the stop at the normal time, I STRONGLY encourage you to check the website, twitter or your e-mail as I will post an update to let you know!!!

STOP AND DROP PROCEDURES:

K – 3 students should utilize stop and drop in the parking lot.

Please remain in your cars, the staff will get the students in order to maintain safety

Please drive slowly in the parking lot for student safety

Please stop at the crosswalk before entering Monmouth Avenue.

4 – 5 students should be dropped at the front of the building and should go directly to their classrooms

Value of the Month – Each month will be designated a character month where one value will be the theme for the month

Student of the Month – Each month one student from each class will be selected as the student of the month. The student will have represented the character core value throughout the month.

Days of Respect and Responsibility – grade level accounting of incident free days will be displayed prominently in the school and in the classrooms.

Infusion into the Curriculum – classroom based activities focused on the monthly core value as well as school wide activities such as assemblies throughout the school year.
