GENERAL CONDITIONS1) BOOKING: After the registration form and the registration tax of 100 euro has been received, you will receive an e-mail of confirmation. 2) CANCELLATION POLICY: The registration can be cancelled by fax at the latest seven days before the course start. The registration tax of 100 euro is unrefundable. If the registration is not cancelled in written form the full amount of the course must be paid. 3) ADMISSION: The balance due must be paid on the first day of the course and is unrefundable. If payment in full has not been received within the first day the student will not be allowed to start his/her course. Lessons are usually held in the mornings. If a student does not attend, withdraws or shortens his/her course after the course has begun, tuition fees will not be refunded. No refunds are allowed for a delayed start or premature departure. Student tuition is never refunded due to absence from class and study hours subsequently lost can not be made up. 4)BEHAVIOUR: Nausicaa reserves the right to dismiss any student whose conduct is not compatible with the activities of the school, at the discretion of the centre Director, whose decision is final. There will be no refund for fees in cases of expulsion and any billed but unpaid fees become payable immediately. 5) MINORS: Students under 18 need to have written permission from their parents to book their course and accommodation with Nausicaa. 6) LAW AND JURISDICTION: These terms and conditions shall be subject to Italian Law and the parties hereby submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of Vibo Valentia Courts. 7) TREATMENT OF PERSONAL DETAILS: In signing the present form the student authorizes the Italian language school to handle his/her personal details, which will be protected with care and confidentiality. These details will be used exclusively by Nausicaa for communications relating to the activities of the Italian Language school. The student may request the updating or cancellation of these details under the terms of the Law (L.675/96).

From Rome The Eurostar to Patti takes 9 hours.

By car, take the A20 autostrada from Messina –Palermo and exit at Patti, about 9 hours drive from Rome.

There are also coaches from Rome Tiburtina to Messina that arrive in about 10 hours.

Nausicaa was foundet in 1999 in Pizzo Calabro. Af te r a sussess fu l decade of hosting and teaching students in Calabria, Nausicaa will now embark on a new endeavour and reopen its centre in Patti, a charming village at the Saracena coast. Surronded by gently rolling hills, and a blue deep sea which nestles into innumerable small bays with the imposing sight of the Aeolian Islands, here you will discover the beauty Sicily.

Through one panoramic road on the sea, that offers a landscape of incredible beauty, after approximately 10 km you reach Tindari, the ancient Greek city with its theatre, the Gymnasium, and the villas.Nausicaa is placed in the heart of Patti where the typical and friendly Sicilian atmosphere with the life of fashionable premises for all the tastes can be appreciated.Patti is not yet touched by mass tourism so you can test out and improve your

language skills right from the beginning in an authentic language environment. The warm and hospitable locals will certainly make sure that you combine your Italian studies with a relaxing holiday.

Tranquil EnvironmentNausicaa is recognised for our competence and the relaxed and friendly environment of the school. To ensure the intimacy and authenticity of your Sicilian experience, we limit the total number of partecipants per week to 10. Our small classes, each with a maximum of five

students , offer more intimacy and personal attention. These small classes are more easily tailored to your needs. Our teachers, who are all well-trained, will give you a varied class that feautures not only the finer points of the language, but also culture, daily life and history of Italy. The classroom language is italian and you will soon find yourself communicating with students from other countries in your new common language.

In our small friendly classes you will feel right at home and ready to learn.

Appropriate LevelsNausicaa offers a range of levels to suit your ability:Elementary 1 and 2, Intermediate 1 e 2, Advanced 1 and 2.Classes are run from Monday to Friday, 9:00am-1:00pm. Each

lessons is 55 minutes with a five minute break. Private tuitions also available, beginning on your choice of day. If you are not an absolute beginner, an initial test will ensure you are placed at the right level. At Nausicaa you will not be left behind or be held back, instead you are encouraged to improve along with other students at a similar level to you.

Varied Course MaterialWe use a modern teaching model at Nausicaa, with excellent support material. Here, alongside reading and writing, special emphasis is placed on oral expression and communication, conversation and oral comprehension. Our teachers give practical illustration to the synctactical and grammatical structures taught in lessons. As well as specially chosen traditional course material, we also use film material, newspaper articles, cessette recordings, games and songs to make the classes as lively and varied as possible. At the end of your course, there is an optional final test to measure your improvement during your time with us. You will also receive a diploma of attendance.

Nausicaa organises a range of fascinating excursions each week. Destinations include museums and monuments over the whole of Sicily and Calabria, Taormina with its Greek theatre, to the famous trading town of Messina, or to the archeological excavations in Tindari.The excursions often include a swim and a chance to admire the views at one of the beautiful natural beaches along the Sicilian coast, such as Capo Calava, Tindari etc. On the return journey you will enjoy the different tastes of restaurants that offer traditional Mediterranean cuisine.

Other ActivitiesNausicaa also organises cultural activities during the week including movie nights, showing important Italian movies or music nights showcasing Italian music.

Other OptionsThere is a wide range of sports activities available on request, from diving and paragliding to exploring nature by trekking or mountain bike. On the weekends take a day tour to the nearby Aeolian Islands and marvel at the volcanic activity of Stromboli. You will be delighted with the amazing views of the islands and their clear waters, white pumice beaches or black sand beaches.

Bed sheets will be provided but not towels.Gas and electricity are included in the price of the flat.In order to get the keys for the flat, you need make an appointment with our staff for Sunday evenings. The student rents the flat from the afternoon the day before the course starts till 12:00 the day after the last day of the course.
