Conception in TCM

•Future Mother: conception depends on good Blood & Essence, strong KD & LV & healthy Ren & Chong meridians.

•Future Father: conception depends on good Essence.

•Future parents: Conception occurs between mother, father & the warm fire of Ming Men.

Consideration: always nourish blood after

the patient stops the Birth Control Pill

FERTILITY & TCMIf the patient has mostly an excess condition:

• Menstrual phase: Move blood if period is scanty, stop bleeding if too heavy.

• Post-menses phase: Nourish LV Blood & KD Yin.

• Mid-cycle (ovulation): Nourish KD Essence & Kd Yang.

• Pre-menses phase: Move LV Qi if stagnant or Tonify Yang if deficient.

If the patient has mostly a deficiency condition:

• Menstrual phase: no treatment or very light Tx.
