DORMITION FAST: The Dormition Fast begins on

Wednesday August 14th. Please make an effort to Fast

for this two week period lasting until the feast day

celebration on Wednesday August 28th.

GENERAL CONFESSION: Sunday August 4th

beginning at 9:30 AM Father John will serve the service

of General Confession. Please be prompt so you can

take advantage of the Sacrament of Repentance.

FEAST OF THE TRANSFIGURATION: On MondayAugust 19th we will celebrate the Feast of the

Transfiguration of Our Lord. Please make an effort to

be with us on this day to celebrate this feast day of the

Orthodox Church. Please note that on this day we will

have the blessing of fruit. Please bring a basket of fruit

to church with you on this day to be blessed.

DORMITION OF THE MOTHER OF GOD: On

Wednesday August 28th the Holy Orthodox Church on

the Old Calendar celebrates the feast day of the

Dormition of the Mother of God. Please join us on this

day to celebrate the Divine Liturgy in honor of the

Mother of God. On this day it is customary to bless

flowers. If you would like to bring a bouquet of flowers

there will be a table set up to bless them after theliturgy.

SAVE THE DATE: His Grace Bishop Michael will be

with us the weekend of September 21st and 22nd to

celebrate our patronal feastday. Please reserve this

weekend to be with us in church to greet and meet our

Beloved Hierarch of our diocese of New York and NewJersey.

SPONSORS ARE NEEDED: It is customary when the

Bishop comes to visit a parish that we provide a meal

after each service. It has been known that our parish

always prepares a bountiful meal after each service.

This time we are asking for financial help towards thisinitiative. If you would like to donate towards this

project please see Matushka Ludmila at the candle

generous donation of $250 dollars.

DIOCESAN YOUTH DAY 2013 AT GREAT

ADVENTURE: Our diocese each year sponsors a Youth

Day at Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ. The youth of

our diocese gather on this day at our parish home for a

light breakfast, a prayer service, Stump the Clergy

activity, and then proceed by bus to enjoy a day at

Great Adventure. Cost is only $32 per participant. A

food voucher will be provided by His Grace BishopMichael. Please reserve Thursday August 22nd to join

His Grace Bishop Michael, clergy, and youth of our

diocese for an enjoyable outing. Information can be

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: The Parish Councilwill meet on Sunday August 25th in church after the

Divine Liturgy. Please save this date on your respective

calendars.

40 DAY MEMORIAL LUNCHEON: On Sunday

August 18th a memorial service will be served after the

Divine Liturgy in memory of newly departed OlgaErmolowich. After this service everyone is invited to the

parish home for a luncheon given by her friends and

family in memory of Olga.
