THIS WEEKEND: MISSION APPEAL JULY 13 - 14, 2019
Rev. Lukasz Drozak, Redemptorist, will speak on behalf of the Redemptorists ministries in Ukraine and Russia this weekend, July 13-14. The Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, Redemptorists, is a missionary congregation that ministers to the poor in more than 70 countries around the world. The area of the former Soviet Union is undoubtedly a place where many neglected people need help. Thanks to the efforts of Polish Redemptorists, we have been building the next church there. In front of us there is the next project: the completion of the construction at the church and pastoral center in Togliatti - central Russia. We would like to express our deep gratitude to all of you for your prayers, kindness and support of our projects. Every day we thank God in our prayers for all people of good will, their prayers and generosity. May God Bless you all.
LETS DRESS OUR BEST TO GIVE THE LORD OUR SUNDAY’S BEST!

15th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Loving isn't too difficult, right? Many of us are surrounded
by kind, lovely people trying to do the right thing. Indeed,
to "love ? your neighbor as yourself" seems like it should
be easy enough. Treat people like you would like to be
treated. Bring the new neighbors some baked goods
(normal and gluten-free, just in case). Chat with the bank
teller about his holiday weekend. Write an occasional card
to your sister "just because." There were probably varieties
of these acts of kindness in Jesus' day. Perhaps substituting
figs for cookies. But "exchange pleasantries with the
traveling cloth merchant" isn't the example Jesus gives.
"A man fell victim to robbers... they stripped him and beat
him and went off leaving him half-dead." The righteous
pass by the scene of the dying man. The hero of the story is
the one on the margins of Jewish society, who perhaps
would not have been welcomed, in other circumstances, by
the man now in the ditch. His neighborly love causes him
to halt his journey, to tend wounds, and to pay for the man's
care out of his own savings. Are we interruptible? Are we
attentive to the hurts of others? Are we generous with our
money and possessions?
In the past few weeks, who has crossed your mind as
someone in need of help? Perhaps it's an acquaintance
suffering from cancer. Maybe you were invited to donate
or volunteer to a local social cause, but it just won't stick
in your mind (or schedule) to make it happen. The needs
of people are many and varied. We can't help everyone,
but God does place opportunities in our path for
compassion and courageous love. This week, be "the one
who treated him with mercy."

Remember in your prayers
the sick of our parish:
Almighty and Eternal God, You are the everlasting health of those who
believe in You. Hear us for Your sick servants… for whom we implore
the aid of Your tender mercy, that being restored to bodily health, they
may give thanks to You in Your Church. Through Christ our Lord.

What does it mean to give of yourself completely, without
reservation, without fear, and without a concern for the cost?
Should it matter if the person who needs us is unlike us in skin
color, religion, or nationality? What does real mercy look like?
Jesus answered these questions beautifully in perhaps the
greatest of the stewardship parables, the story of the Good
Samaritan. Here a Judean traveler has been attacked, beaten,
and left for dead on the side of the road. Others see him, but
the cost to them to stop and help is too great. It is a Samaritan,
one who is despised by most in the area, that stops, and he
gives of his time, talent, and treasure to help the poor victim.
Where the Samaritan was going we cannot know for sure, but
he stopped to give his time to the beaten man. Using oil and
wine, he bandaged the wounds. Not everyone has the
knowledge and skills to care for someone in this manner. Here,
he gave of his talent. Then he placed the man on his own
animal and carried him to an inn the rest of the day. The
following day he pays the innkeeper, yet leaves explaining that
if the payment is not enough, when he travels back on through
he will repay him whatever the cost. Of course, here he shares
his treasure.
The sharing of these things is profound enough, but it is the
statement of his willingness to pay whatever the balance is that
elevates this tale to an ultimate example of stewardship. The
Samaritan does not care how high the cost. He will give
whatever is needed. This is mature discipleship, to respond to
the call of Jesus Christ regardless of the cost. This is true
stewardship.

células enfermas, abre mis arterias o venas bloqueadas y
AMEN.
