Prayer of Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Gospel John 1:35-42 John was standing with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God.” The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi”—which translated means Teacher—"where are you staying?” He said to them, “Come, and you will see.” So they went and saw where Jesus was staying, and they stayed with Him that day. It was about four in the afternoon. Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus. He first found his own brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah”—which is translated Christ. Then he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John; you will be called Cephas”—which is translated Peter. Homily Profession of Faith Universal Prayer

Servant Song McGargill

Gracious Lord, we pray for all the members of Your holy Church, that all may abide in You and You in them, that they may be one

in Your love and bear much fruit. We also pray for the world, that all may come to believe in Your love for them by the fruit of our witness. We know that our divisions are a source of scandal to Your world, and we know that in love we are called to unite as

one in the vine and branches. The vine is our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son. We are meant to be His branches. Help us we pray, to love, to forgive, to seek justice, and to be Your prophetic voice in the world. May Your grace effect growth of good fruit among us, that our world may realize peace. We ask all this in the name of

Jesus, Your Son and in the power of the Holy Spirit, One God, for ever and ever. Amen.
