The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries by providing participants opportunities to study, teach, conduct research, and contribute to finding solutions to shared international concerns. The Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship places grantees in schools overseas to supplement local English language instruction
and to provide a native speaker presence in the classroom. Below are the locations of UI ETA awardees.
The Fulbright Study/Research grant is the traditional award opportunity in which a candidate designs a proposal for a specific country. Below is a

G E R M A N A C A D E M I C E X C H A N G E S E R V I C E ( D A A D ) DAAD study scholarships are awarded to seniors and graduate students to study or complete postgraduate coursework and obtain a degree from a German institution. DAAD research grants are awarded to Ph.D. candidates or to individuals wishing to earn a doctoral degree in Germany.

The Critical Language Scholarship Program provides fully-funded group-based intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment activities overseas each summer for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students.

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers awards for undergraduate study abroad and was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study and intern abroad programs worldwide.
