system design using PIC Microcontroller” which was inaugurated on 22nd
September, 2017 and was presented by Mr. M.Chilambarsan, TRYSEM solutions.

SEMINAR:
The department of ECE organized a Seminar on “ANDROID
OS” by Dr.Shankar, Chase Technologies on 6th July 2017 at 9.00 a.m for all final
year and third year students in the room No 220, Main block. Expert has focused
on many Aspects of Android Technology which are the unfamiliar terms Among
Students Till Date. He gave the complete idea about Android Platform
Architecture. Then he shared Android Component & Process Life cycle of Android
Application. He shared the Software Pre-Requisites required to develop Android
Application.

International Conference:
The Dept. of ECE, EEE and E & I has conducted the 4th Inter National
Conference titled “Green Technologies for Power Generation and
Communication” (ICGPC-2017) on 3rd
and 4th
of Apr 2017.This Conference has
brought up a new standard and a lightening approach to the Dept Faculties,
Students and Research Scholars. The Inaugural Address given by Mr.S.Singha Roy
Director, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) Chennai and Guest
of Honor is Mr. S. Krishna Murthy , Senior Advisor WANo Japan. The Key Note
Address Given by Dr. Chockalingam Aravind Vaithilingam , Research Lead,
CIARC, School of Engineering, Taylar’s University, Malasiya.
Papers of different Areas such as wireless networks, Communication,
Computer Networks, wind energy, solar energy, VLSI Design and embedded
systems have been presented which gave the students to learn and understand new
things which they didn’t come through in their subject fields.The Conference
Proceedings comprises of 180 Papers in 6 Disciplines Electrical Engineering – 30,
Computer Networks – 18 Communication – 35, VLSI-35, Embedded Systems-28,
Antennas-32, and IOT-10.
WORK SHOP ON:
The Department of ECE organized a one day workshop on “IOT and
ANDROID” which was inaugurated on 30th September, 2016 and was presented by
Mr.V.S Rajan, Adithya Infomedia Solutions. Participants who came to attend the
workshop registered themselves from 9.00 am TO 10.00am.
Following content was covered in workshop:
In Session-I started with keynote lecture on IoT and future of connected
world and it provided the insights of IOT applications for smart home, smart cities,
smart lights, smart retails, energy issues, health and life style and car connect. In
Session-II he discussed real life use cases on IoT application and make the session
really interactive by providing an opportunity to suggest a solution to real life
scenario.

MINI PROJECT EXHIBITION :
The Department of ECE has conducted a mini project Exhibition on
25th
September 2016 in the Main Block Room No 111. The projects were
categorized in different fields of specialization such as Embedded System, VLSI,
Antenna and Communication. Nearly 20 projects have been displayed by students.
All projects are mostly Industrial Application oriented and to the current standard.
Three best projects have been selected by the chief guest “Dr.V.Amudha”,
professor ECE Department SPCET.
PROJECT EXHIBITION:
The Department of ECE has conducted a project Exhibition on 4th
April 2017 in the Main Block Room No 111. The project exhibition is sponsored
by International Institute of project Management (IIPM). The projects were
categorized in different fields of specialization such as Embedded System, VLSI,
Antenna and Communication. Nearly 20 projects have been displayed by students.
All projects are mostly Industrial Application oriented and to the current standard.
Three best projects have been selected by the chief guest
“Mr.O.Arivazhagan” CEO International Institute of Project Management has
distributed first prize is awarded with Rs 3000, Second prize is awarded with Rs
2000 and 3rd
prize is awarded with Rs 1000.
GUEST LECTURE:
The department of ECE organized a guest lecture on “Embedded system” by
Mr.Madhan, Vee Technologies on 21st September 2016 at 9.30am for all final year
students in the room No 221, Main block.The topics covered on the lecture was
about introduction on Code Development Systems support, overview of entire
families of microcontrollers, optimizing C language cross-compilers are ANSI-
compatible within hardware limitations and Tight, fast and efficient code
optimization generates clean, customized applications were also discussed.
GUEST LECTURE:
The department of ECE organized a guest lecture on “IOT” by Mr.
Malayappan,Pantech Solutions on 9th February 2017 at 9.00 a.m for all final year
students in the room No 219, Main block.
The Expert discussed about the future scope of "IOT", following points were
discussed in the lecture.

International Conference:
The Dept. of ECE, EEE and E & I has conducted the 3rd
Inter National
Conference titled “Green Technologies for Power Generation and
Communication” (ICGPC-2016) on 23rd and 24
th of Mar 2016. This Conference is
combindly organized by Dept of ECE and Institution of Engineers, Thiruvallur
Section. This Conference has brought up a new standard and a lightening approach
to the Dept Faculties, Students and Research Scholars.
The Inaugural Address given by Mr.S.Satyanarayanan, Station Director,
Madras Atomic Power Station, Kalakkam, Chennai and Guest of Honor is
Dr.P.Aravindan, Chairman, Institution of Engineers, Thiruvallur Dist, Chennai.The
Key Note Address Given by Mr.Mu Yunbo and Mr.Mark Lee from Dongfong
Electronics Pvt Ltd, China. Papers of different Areas such as wireless networks,
Communication, Computer Networks, wind energy, solar energy, VLSI Design
and embedded systems have been presented which gave the students to learn and

WORKSHOP ON:
The Department of ECE organized a two day workshop on “Design of
Antenna” on18th and 19
th August,2015 and was presented by Mr.Sridhar , Wave
guide Technologies.
The topics covered are,
On day -1 Introduction to ANSYS EM solvers and HFSS, Conical horn
antenna using HFSS, Boundary Conditions, Excitations in HFSS, Microstrip slot
coupled patch antenna using HFSS, Band Pass Filter analysis using HFSS,
Introduction to HFSS IE Solver, Reflector Analysis using HFSS-IE, Array &
Periodic structure analysis, Techniques in HFSS, Waveguide array unit-cell
analysis in HFSS
On day 2 Wide band antennas & antennas systems for EW/GNSS
applications, BroadBand Antenna & Randome design using HFSS, Introduction to
Designer and Circuit-EM, cosimulation, Circuit-EM co-simulation and push
excitation example MicroStrip to stripline transition simulation using, ANSYS
Designer/ HFSS 3D Layout Demo Matching Circuit creation in Ansys Designer.

GUEST LECTURE:
The department of ECE organized a guest lecture on “Telecommunication”
by Mr. Anandha Kumar,BSNL on 15th
September 2015 at 9.00 a.m for all final
year and third year students in the room No 220, Main block. In the lecture, Mr.
Anandha Kumar highlighted the evolution of electronics from meager initiations to
modern day electronics. He also cited some interesting trends in modern
electronics. He took the session into the next gear, sharing his insights on the
evolution of communications with firm stress on trends in electronics, VLSI,
embedded system, communication, etc.
GUEST LECTURE:
The department of ECE organized a guest lecture on “IOT AND
ANDROID” by Mr. V.S.Rajan,Adithya Infomedia Solutions on 24th

at 9.00 a.m for all final year students in the room No 217, Main block.
The Expert shared the Amazing History of Android OS Version & naming
convention among Students. The name given to the versions of Android OS are
kept after names of various desserts, sweets and drinks. It is also worth noticing
that these names are getting incremented in alphabetical order. Then he delivered
the lectures of introduction of IOT.
SEMINAR:
The department of ECE organized a Seminar on “Internet of Things” by Mr.
Madhan,Pantech Technologies on 18th
February 2016 at 9.00 a.m for all final year
and third year students in the room No 220, Main block. The content of the
Seminar was on IoT and future of connected world and it provided the insights of
IOT applications for smart home, smart cities, smart lights, smart retails, energy
issues, health and life style and car connect. He began his session with how the
proliferation of connected devices and the Technology capabilities is transforming
the industry with cloud data. He also discussed the various areas of IoT analytics
application. The session II continued with the five Key Challenges that Enterprise
IoT Innovators are going to face. To illustrate the concept of computing more
lucid, he shared videos on technologies like SaaS, PasS and IaaS. The session was
followed by videos and discussion.

International Conference:
The Dept. of ECE, EEE and E & I has conducted the 2nd Inter National
Conference titled “Green Technologies for Power Generation and
Communication” (ICGPC-2015) on 26th and 27th of Feb 2015. This Conference
has brought up a new standard and a lightening approach to the Dept Faculties and
Students / Scholars. Dr.S.Gomathinayagam, Director general, National Institute of
Wind energy, Chennai inaugurated the conference and Dr.Chockalingam Aravind
Vaithilingam , Research lead CLARC School of Engineering, Taylors University ,
Malaysia was the Guest of Honor. The Chief guests gave their innovative Key note
speech during the conference session and the Key note Speeches given by the
guests were;

well as in abroad and also they gave a brief idea for the students about Shipping
and Logistics field.
SEMINAR :
The department of ECE organized a seminar on “Recent Trends in
Electronic and communications” by Dr. Shankar, Chase Technologies on 5th
July
2014 at 09.30am for all final year M.E students in the room no.220, Main block.
The seminar covered on the topic Communication through optical fiber,
Microwave wireless communication through VSAT Networks, Adaptive signal
processing and Ultra wide band networks. The seminar was very useful to the
students.
SEMINAR :
The department of ECE organized a seminar on “RF and Microwave
Engineering” by Mr. Shandhosh, ICM Solutions on 15th July 2014 at 09.30am for
all final year B.E students in the room no.220, Main block. In this seminar, the
fundamentals of transmission-line metamaterials (MTMs) was presented and
related structures such as the Huygens’ metasurface was introduced. A number of
applications of transmission-line metamaterials and Huygens’ metasurfaces was
presented in the microwave and optical regimes. These include super-lensing in
free space, passive and active RF/microwave components with enhanced
performance, active/non-Foster microwave components and antennas, active
cloaking, the far-field optical super-microscope, ultrathin optical hetero-junction
lenses, and optical leaky-wave antennas.

The department of ECE organized a Seminar on “Shipping and Logistics” by
Mr. Manikandan, GML Shipping & Logistics Technologies on 21st August 2014 at
10.00 a.m for all final year students in the room No 217, Main block. The lecture
was explained about the job opportunities in that field both in India as well as in
abroad and also they gave a brief idea for the students about Shipping and
Logistics field.
SEMINAR :
The department of ECE organized a seminar on “Embedded system” by Mr.
Ramkumar,Chase Technologies on 11th
March 2015 at 2.30pm for all final year
students in the room No 217, Main block. The seminar mainly covered on how the
Embedded system used in various fields like Embedded in Signal processing,
Embedded in Bio- Medical. Embedded in Space craft, Embedded in Automation,
Embedded in wearable computers, etc., also the softwares that are used and its
specification were discussed.
SEMINAR:
The department of ECE organized a Seminar on “VLSI” by Mr. Sridhar,
SKR Engineering College on 19th March 2015 at 9.00 a.m for all final year
students in the room No 220, Main block. The content of the Seminar was the
Introduction of VLSI, then about the Verilog and VHDL language with three levels
of programming model and its applications. In the afternoon session the practical
session was conducted (ie.) how to program and get the output in the Xilinx
software.
Academic Yr 2013-2014
International Conference:
The Department of ECE and EEE jointly organized an international conference
titled “Green Technologies for Power generation and Communication” on 3rd and
4th April 2014. The objective of the conference was to share and discuss the
environmental degradation caused by power generation and various
communication applications. The conference had many eminent scientists,
academician, professionals and Research scholars. The event is inaugurated by
Mr.Choi Joon Hyuk, Director of IYF Chennai. Another Guest of honor Dr. Jhon
Anna Selvan, CEO of Nano PV Technologies, USA Graced the occasion with an
introduction speech on green technologies. Key note speeches were presented by
the eminent speakers are as follows;
Prof.Dr.Ishak Bin Aris on “Green Computing and Intelligent Networks for
smart Grid Applications”
Dr.M.R.Nayak on “Environmentally Friendly Energy Technologies-Indian
Scenario:Challenges and Opportunities”.
Mr.V.N.Mani on “Role of Nano Technology and Advancements in
Harnessing Clean and Green Solar Energy through Thermal Photo Voltaic
Technology
Mr.J.Arun Kumar on “Green Power Generation for next generation:The role
of PEM fuel Cells”.
National Seminar:
The Dept. of ECE has conducted the National Conference named as
National Scholar Seminar on Green Technologies in Communication and
Computing on October 3rd and 4th , 2013 in collaboration with International
Journal of Technology and Engineering Science(IJTES) and sponsored by Board
of Research in Nuclear Sciences(BRNS). It was inaugurated by emeritus Professor
Dr.Kumaravelu from Anna university. This Conference has brought up a new
standard and a lightening approach to the Dept Faculties and Students / Scholars
and well established Professors from different colleges / Universities and persons
with sound Industrial backgrounds have took part in the conference and gave more
idealistic speech, which would have given high level of confidence to the Students
/ Scholars, who were participated and presented their papers. Three Professors
Dr.S.Ravi, Dr.Kalpaltha Reddy, Dr.Shivraju delivered there key note speech in
three different sessions on Green technologies in communication and computing.
The Conference Proceedings published with ISSN No: 2320-8007. There were 3
important Sessions and in each Session nearly 10 – 12 papers have been presented
which were neatly analyzed and judged by the Session Chairs.
WORKSHOP :
The Department of ECE organized a One day workshop on “Embedded
System” which was inaugurated on 5th August, 2014 presented by IWIZ Bluechip
Technologies [p] Ltd.

In session 1 Basics of Robot Electronics like Basic Electronic Components,
Fundamental Electrical Concepts, Sensors, Operational Amplifier, Integrating
Circuit, Interfacing of Sensors, Motors and Controlling Circuit, Interfacing of
Motor
In session 2 Introduction to Microcontrollers Introduction to Programming
Languages, Discussion on Different Algorithms like Line Following Robot
Algorithms, Edge Avoiding Robot Algorithm, Obstacle Avoider Robot
Algorithm, Wall Following Robot Algorithm and Installation of Software and
Debugging.
WORKSHOP:
The Department of ECE organized a two day workshop on “Application of
Arduino Boards” which was inaugurated on 8th September, 2014 presented by
Cmostronics.
The workshop focused on getting up and running with Arduino quickly, and
to understand the basic procedures for working with Arduino and can explore
further on our own. The workshop covered : how to install Arduino on the laptop;
how to understand, modify, and write Arduino programs; how to connect sensors
to Arduino and read them from a program; and how to connect actuators (LEDs,
motors, speakers) and control them from a program.
National Conference:
The Dept. of ECE has conducted the first National Conference on Emerging
Trends on Information, Communication and Computing on March 7th and 8th,
2013. This Conference has brought up a new standard and a lightening approach to
the Dept Faculties and Students / Scholars. Dr.Seetharaman, Scientist from
CVRDE inaugurated the conference, well established Professors from different
colleges / Universities and persons with sound Industrial backgrounds have took
part in the conference and gave more idealistic speech, which would have given
high level of confidence to the Students / Scholars, who were participated and
presented their papers. Three Professors Dr.Maryanitha, Dr.A.Suresh,
Dr.R.Dhanasekhar delivered there key note speech on Emerging trends in
information, communication and computing.

WORKSHOP:
The Department of ECE organized a one day workshop on Evolution of
embedded system which was inaugurated on 15th July, 2013 and was presented by
SPIRO Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
The experts from SPIRO Solution Pvt. Ltd. conducted several sessions on
History , Processors in embedded systems, ASIC and FPGA Solutions,
Applications like interfacing of various I/O devices including lights, motors,
sensors, with basic Embedded Boards using Embedded C programming .
WORK SHOP :
The Department of ECE organized a one day workshop on PCB Designing
which was inaugurated on 7th August, 2013 and was presented by Dr.V.Amudha,
St.Peter’s college of Engineering & Technology. The workshop was aimed to
provide knowledge about simulation tool to test electronics & electrical circuit in
software environment, PCB design software named Cad soft EAGLE & to make
physical PCB at home so that any student can make project on his own. Almost 60
students have participated in the workshop

WORK SHOP :
The Department of ECE organized a three day workshop on Robotics which
was inaugurated on 29th – 31
st August, 2013 presented by Mr.G.Senthil Kumar,
Arobot. Event was started by the informative and motivational talk on “Robotics”.
The content covered in workshop was about microcontroller & Programming the
microcontroller using embedded C Interfacing and controlling various devices like
keypad, LED, buzzer, motors, sensors etc with microcontroller, Making serial
communication with PC using hyper terminal and UART communication protocol
, Use of ADC for different interface control Making of various types of robots their
algorithms and coding Application of micro controllers and embedded C in
industry, military, medical, home appliances, home automation etc .
WORKSHOP :
The Department of ECE organized a one day workshop on “Arduino” which
was inaugurated on 17th
September, 2013 presented by Cmostronics.

GUEST LECTURE:
A guest lecture on “PLC AUTOMATION” was conducted by the
department of ECE for the third and final year students in the Main Block Seminar
Hall on 30th July 2013 at 9.00 a.m. The guest Lecture was given by Mr.Prasad,
EAS Excel Automation Solution. He explained the importance of PLC SCADA in
industry and automation sector. He further added that adding the skill set of PLC
SCADA will be beneficial from the job Perspective in global competitive market.
He first elaborated the theory and then practically explain the concept with live
demonstration.
GUEST LECTURE:
A guest lecture on “OPTICAL COMMUNICATION” was conducted by the
department of ECE for the third and final year students in the room No: 221 Main
Block on 17th January 2014 at 10.00 a.m. The guest Lecture was given by
Mr.Mageshkannan, KAM India Pvt Ltd. In his lecture he explained all the
processes that were involved in manufacturing of Photonic Crystal Fibers. The
processes involved were Introduction, guiding mechanism of PCF, fabrication
Methods and properties of PCF.
SEMINAR:
The department of ECE organized a seminar on “Embedded system” by Mr.

by Mr.Pranesh, CADD centre” on 21st January 2014 for the third year students at
02.30pm in the room no.218, Main block. The seminar on “GATE exam
preparation” kindled the minds of students for GATE exam preparation and it was
an interactive session with useful information.

GUEST LECTURE:
A guest lecture on “Digital Image Processing” was conducted by the
department of ECE for the third and final year students in the room No: 217, Main
Block on 16th January 2013 at 10.00 a.m. The guest Lecture was given by
Mr.Pugalthiran, Call Soft. In the first session they explained about RCB models,
HSI models, extraction and pixels. In second session the MATLAB programs were
explained along some of the examples
SEMINAR :
The department of ECE organized a seminar on “Awareness Program On
Robotics” by Mr. G.Senthil Kumar,Arobot on 21st January 2013 at 3.10pm for all
ECE students in the room No 219, Main block. The content of the seminar was
Motion tracking with 3D shape, color, and motion cues, Hopping Robots in Space:
Hybrid Locomotion for the Exploration of Small Solar System Bodies,
Position/force control for unmodelled soft robots. The lecture gave an insight into
the world of robotics in a crisp and entertaining manner.
SEMINAR:
The department of ECE organized a seminar on “Cyber Security
Threats” by Ms.Logeshwari, SPCET on 25th February 2013 for all the ECE
students at 02.30pm in the room no 221, Main block.
The seminar was related to hacking the system. The contents of the
seminar was the Conveying the hidden message through pictures, Hacking the PC
through mobilespy.com, Hacking the web camera, Hacking some ones personal
mail-id, mobile phone numbers and sending messages to others from specified
software. Hacking the mail-id , mobile phone numbers were demonstrated the
students to create the awareness
