Zone Cross Country
Congratulations to all the students who qualified
and represented our school at the Griffith & Zone
PSSA Cross Country Carnival held at Lake
Wyangan recently. Zavian is off to Gundagai to
represent the Griffith Zone at Riverina this
Thursday, best of luck to him!
Scholastic Book Fair
Thank you to everyone who supported our
recent Book Fair. $1420 was raised in sales, and
30% of this, our school keeps as a commission
which will help restock our Library. A huge thank
you to Mrs Lacey for organising and running the
Fair while Mrs Wood was busy with Book Fairs
at her other schools.

Mortimer Shield
Congratulations to all who competed recently in
the Mortimer Shield held at Jubilee Oval. Well
done to all the kids involved, fantastic effort and
sportsmanship shown by all. Was a great day,
except for the wind, some close games but not
quite enough to make it to the next round in
Wagga.

Tiddalik Wetlands 20th Anniversary
Recounts by 5/6
5/6G had to do a recount with a partner of the
school’s recent excursion to the Tiddalik Wetlands
20th Anniversary.
On the 12th of May Darlington Point Public
School and the community had an excursion
to Tiddalik Wetlands for its 20th Anniversary.
We all gathered to acknowledge this special
day. As we arrived Amarni Coe gave us a
Welcome to Country.
Then we started our activities. The older
children did a scavenger hunt and a water bug
activity while the younger students did a
check list with birds.
After we did our first activity we sat down
and enjoyed a sausage sizzle that was supplied
by Southern Cotton. We were allowed to eat
two sausages. When we finished our sausage
sizzle the primary students swapped activities,
and the infants students kept doing their bird
check list.
When we all finished, we had some carrot
cake or chocolate cake that was supplied by
the Sunshine Club. After that the 5/6 students
helped the Council pack up. Because we
helped pack up Maria Teusner gave us some
chocolate Fredo frogs, then we walked back
to our school and finished our day.
By Zane and River in 5/6G
On Wednesday the 12th of May the whole
Darlington Point Public School headed to
Tiddalik Wetlands for its 20th Anniversary
celebration. The celebration was organised
by the community, led by Maria Teusner.
There were activities set up around the
Wetlands for the students to do, such as a
nature hunt for the primary aged kids. On
the nature hunt the primary students had to
find a variety of objects such as, grass seed
heads, berries, chewed leaves and extra
natural resources.
Another activity that was set up for the
primary students was having a detailed look
at the water bugs found in the Wetlands.
These activities were organised by Owen
Dunlop.
The Infant students also had a nature hunt to
keep themselves entertained. They had to
find laminated photographs of wetland birds
around Tiddalik. The Infants activities were
set up by their teachers.
After all the students had finished their
activities, they had a sausage sandwich,
cooked by Mr Robert Guest from the Lions
Club. The meat and bread were donated to
us by Southern Cotton.
Next, the students had a proper look around
the Wetlands.
After approximately 30 minutes the students
had chocolate cake or carrot cake, which was
donated by the Darlington Point Sunshine
Club.
So altogether the students and attendees had
an educational and engaging day.
