CNTS general implantation

An ambitious national and international shooting sport center

By choosing the Loire Valley region to locate its National Shooting Sport Centre, the French Shooting Federation has chosen a very accessible and exceptional geographical position in the heart of France only 2:30 from Paris.

With its fully fenced and secured resort on approximately 200 acres, a residential area including 45 cottages and administrative buildings, this unic center in Europe will become a reference for the organization of national and international sporting events.

The National Shooting Sport Center (CNTS) will also be a place offering permanently many shooting ranges with exceptional capacities :

• a 60 fire lines 10 m range.

• a 60 fire lines 25 m range.

• a 80 fire lines 50 m range.

• a 2 fire lines 50 m Running Target range.

• a 40 fire lines 100 and 200 m range.

• a 80 fire lines 300, 500 and 600 m range located on 2 floors.

• A clay target center, with 5 ranges for trap, skeet and double trap.

• An Indoor Final Hall for 10, 25 and 50 m.

• A Business and Visitor Center.

• A Shooting Sport museum.

All these facilities will be located in a natural environnement, a pleasant and friendly place of life, for competitors, coaches and their families.

Visitors will be welcome in excellent installations and able to follow the competitions through comfortable and state of the art facilities.

The first major events have already been scheduled and will take place at Chateauroux in 2017.

The French shooting Federation would be honoured to welcome the European Championship for the ISSF Olympic Disciplines in its National Shooting Sport Center of Châteauroux-Déols.

Ground Plan

Shooting sport, a booming discipline in France

Today, French Shooting Federation gathers 182 000 members and more than 1 600 shooting clubs accross the country. The Olympic Federation is responsible for the organization of Shooting competitions and Shooting leisure through numerous diversified events.

With 11 shooting disciplines representing 57 different events, including 15 olympic disciplines, every four years french won the following medals :

• 2 medals in 1996, in Atlanta O.G.

• 2 medals in 2000, in Sydney O.G.

• 1 medal in 2008, in Beijing O.G.

• 2 medals in 2012, in London O.G.

The same occurs at the European and World Championships levels where the French Athletes are awarded with medals and permanently improving their ranking.

• In 2013, at the European Championships in Belgrade, France got the 4th ranking.

• In 2014, at the World Championships in Granada, France won 9 times gold out of 21 medals.

In France, due to an innovative sports policy developed over many years, the French Shooting sports members increased from 129 000 in 2005 to almost 182 000 members in July 2015. The French Shooting Federation organizes more than thirty nationals competitions every year, in constant progression.
