The major objective of the program is to provide estab- lished faculty the opportunity to learn about the foundations of and advances in psychophysiological princi- ples and recording techniques , and to examine the applications of psychophysiology to the study of social and general psycholog ical processes . Coverage during the 4-week program includes : (I) abstract issues in- volved in inferring psychological processes and states from physiological data, (2) neurophysiological foun- dations of psychophysiology, (3) psychophysiological concepts and principles, (4) psychophysiological recording procedures, (5) general issues in the analysis of psychophysiological data, and (6) lab computers, software, and instrumentation. Limited laboratory experience is also provided in recording electromyographic, elec- trodermal, cardiovascular, respiratory, electroencephalographic, and electrooculargraphic responses . Applications are invited from beginning and established researchers. The National Science Foundation is providing a limited number of fellowships to cover travel , lodging, books , and materials used by Fellows selected for participation in the Program .
